[The image starts out crooked but the Exo's actively adjusting it before he steps back and gives someone a thumb's up off-screen.]

All right, so good news? Nothing sprung a leak despite prior circumstances, surrounding area's a little damp though, but all in all? Everything's pretty much how I left it. Even got some supposed cyanana booze that's been uh...going through this still since before we left for space. -okay I'm not exactly sure how that might taste? So in the meantime, I've got a backup plan.

[He seems to remember something then, coming up close to the communicator.]

But Cayde, you say, what's all this about anyway? Excellent question! I was so excited I forgot to say. Ahem. So, some of you- a good number, actually, might be aware that I have been in the process of putting together a bar-slash-common gathering area type of hangout...thing. It's pretty much been done, just not stocked- but now that we're finally back from...all that and then some, I've got a selection of fine drinks for your...uh... drinking pleasure. Also some non-alcoholic stuff for the non-drinkers and the under-aged. Oh, and there's tea and coffee too.

[Fishing around in his pocket, he holds up a map he's drawn up, the location circled.]

We're right down here, southeast sector, past the lake- I'm working on getting some kind of a landmark but this place is fresh out of neon signs. Anyway! I'll be around. Come as you please, even if I'm not- don't trip up the stairs, help yourself and uh, don't mind if the fish stare at you.

Making the network announcement had helped to fully kick his mood back into a semblance of normal. Truth be told, he just wanted to gather up people together, real people, and settle in with an ambiance of more pleasant times and warmer company.

The backdrop of the water-filled courtyard that made up the center of the nest of buildings had been something Cayde had at the time thought whimsical. During the daylight hours the light that filtered through the large window was a wavering green-blue, offset by the small sconces along the wall and a few individual lanterns at tables and flanking the bar area adjacent to the makeshift aquarium.

Cayde had set up the various bottles of drinks he'd acquired from their planetary pit-stop and scavenged from the cafe on a somewhat crooked shelf behind the bar itself. He'd been trying to go for rustic like those Old West saloons but in the middle gave up and just let things shape itself as he found them. The glassware is just as mismatched as the furniture, but everything's clean and ready to be made use of. If there's anything he really wishes he had, it would be an old-fashioned phonograph player or some kind of music source just to drive off the quiet that filled the space when no people did.

Made by humans and formerly humans? Intriguing. That did not make full sense to her, but she took it as given. What purpose would he have to not tell her the truth? Not that, without her hammer in hand, she could confirm one way or another the validity of his words.

"So you are truly of Earth."

"Sure am. Was it that obvious?" Cayde chuckles, shrugging. "Yeah. My Earth's different from the ones everyone else that says they're from is, so far as I can tell. We've been through a lot. Humanity's not in the best place, but it's still got a place and that's what counts."

Was it obvious? No. Not at all. She did not understand it, this was beyond their technological capabilities. Even that of 'Iron Man'. But to hear it is a different Earth makes the explanation easier to take.

"I am glad you still have a place, and a world. That is not easy."

"Sure isn't, especially when it seems everyone else out in the universe is out to get you. But we make do, and we're still kickin'." Cayde knows there's still a lot of things they don't understand about, well, a whole lot of things, but they've been given the means to protect themselves, to protect others who can't. While it's possible that it's exactly that means that's lured all the bad things to have it out for them, it's not like they can just ignore it or reject it now. A rough and violent cycle, but there are far worse things lurking in deep space and dark places.

"So how 'bout you? What's your story?"

Oh, she can give her story. It's easy.

"I'm a genetically engineered super soldier, meant to serve as a great warrior in a war that was ended by the Emperor uniting the Alliance. I am now the justice of the throne."

"Whoa, uh, wow. Okay..! That's...that certainly is a story," Cayde concludes after a few blinks. "Sounds like a heavy job. So like, people come to you with their problems and you handle them? That sorta thing?"

Oh yes, a very heavy job. Good thing she is very strong.

"No, not that at all. I am the Accuser. I go where wrong as been done, determine the truth, and pass judgement."

See, she's a good girl.

"My job is to bring peace and justice and honor."

Cayde's eyes almost brighten at that. "Ooh, now that's a title. The Accuser. Brrr. If I still had skin I'd probably get goosebumps hearing it. But that aside...yeah. Pretty much what I said. Problem presented. You handle it. Personally not my thing so I'm glad someone else has to do it back home."

Yes, goosebumps. What are goosebumps? Her head tilts with confusion at that.

"I was called by the Universal Weapon. The Emperor chose to allow me it."

No explanation is forthcoming, unfortunately. Cayde's already latched onto this Universal Weapon thing. "What, wait- that's it? It's just called the Universal Weapon? It better be something or I might just be disappointed."

"Yes, it is the Universal Weapon. There are more than just this one. But it is a powerful tool for truth and honor."

And she supposes she could go collect it.

"I have left it somewhere safe.

"Yeah, but what does it look like! You can't just say Universal Weapon and have people nod like, oh yeah, that thing."

Well now she's done it. The fact that there is something known as the Universal Weapon here just makes the Exo giddy. He does love weapons. Suddenly he's practically leaning across the bar.

"Wait, wait, wait. So you mean to tell me you have it here?"

"I can fetch it," Lauri-Ell offers, tilting her head. He's going to be so shocked by the hammer. "It is decidedly here. I would not be an Accuser without it."

Cayde beams, straightening as he settles back from the counter again. "Would you? I would love to see this amazing weapon that The Accuser wields." He is so very sincere about this.

"Yes. It will take me time to go and return. Will my coffee stay warm?"

SHe does like the coffee.

"Euuuuh...." He's blindsided by the question, taking a moment to pick back up. "Might not, depending on how long it takes you to go back and forth. Okay, you don't needa like, go right now. But I can always get you a fresh, piping hot cup of coffee either way."

More coffee? Yes, this is an acceptable agreement. She pushes to her feet and offers him back the cup.

"Give me several minutes. I shall fetch it here."

The Exo takes back the cup, blinking. "Sure, okay." Hey, he's not going to complain. And there's still plenty of coffee so that's hardly a problem. "We'll be here! ...what?" The latter he asks of Sundance when he turns his head to find his Ghost eyeing him.

Sundance turns again, twitching in something akin to a headshake. She's only been with him, what, several centuries? This is completely expected behavior.

Lauri-Ell nods and turns to walk away. And, some fifteen minutes later she is returning, holding a massive hammer in her hands. She leans the thing against the bar and smiles.

"Coffee please."

By then Cayde's taken to playing another hand against his Ghost. Both glance over towards the door when Lauri-Ell steps through, staring as neither had expected the Universal Weapon to look like...a giant hammer. Cayde had been picturing something more cannon-ny that blasted lasers as broad as he was tall.

He's still staring when the Accuser comes back to the counter and sets it to the side. "Huh? O-oh, right." He grabs the pot and refills the mug she'd handed him earlier, washed out and everything. "Here you are."

And then he's back to staring at the hammer. Sundance is hardly surprised when he finally speaks up again.

"...can I hold it?"

Can he hold it...? Lauri-Ell considers the weapon for a long time then lifts it to lay across the counter. Her hand stays upon it the whole time.

"It would be unwise for you to touch it without me touching it as well. You are not coded to the weapon."

Only the Emperor himself and his authorized authorities could carry one without it shocking them.

He almost bounces in place, probably having fully expected to be turned down. People tend to be strange about weapons and something like a Universal Weapon seemed like it would be almost sacred. That Lauri-Ell says something about being coded kind of confirms it, but Cayde doesn't seem the least bit worried as he rubs his hand together with glee.

"Coded, huh? What happens if you're not?" he asks, not that it keeps him from immediately grasping the handle. Hammers? Definitely not his choice of weapon, but there's some fine workmanship here.

Well, he'd appreciate the fact that this weapon was capable of concussive energy blasts, generating force fields, and the energy chains to bind the judged. And those were just the start of the abilities.

"You are a robot, or near one. It is likely that the shock it delivers if handled by those I do not give it to hold or use might well short out your systems."

"Oh! Uh. Yeah. That...that sounds painful. -but then I used to have a gun that threw out arc energy all over the place the more you fired it so it's not like I'm not used to getting shocked by a weapon."

Cayde could get behind energy blasts, oh yes. He tries hefting the hammer to get a feel for weight. The thing looks like solid metal, and with the guns on Lauri-Ell he figures she just makes it look easy wielding the thing as she had when she came in.

Heavy. There is no better way to describe the weapon than heavy. But not entirely because of the density of the metal, even if it was most of it. There was just... something about lifting it.

For Lauri-Ell it was more than just weight. It was duty. one that had followed her even here.

"Please have care. I do not know how to offer repairs to you."
