[ Here's a face that hasn't been around in a few months. She's back, with her memories intact and a few new ones from hopping around the multiverse a little more. There's no preamble or pretense when she starts to speak, though — more abrupt than not. ]

Sooooooooooo. Who wants to catch me up on the last four or five months? Looks like I've missed An Ordeal. Very likely more than one.

[ Was that luck or un-luck? There's no real flippancy to her tone, she just likes getting to the point of things, especially now. ]

Secondly, roll call for my family, please, of any universe of origin — just let me know if you're still here and who I have to slap into the next multiverse for doing something shitty to you while I was M-I-A.

[ She might be a little protective ok. ]

We were supposed to go home. We were so close...but someone else had other plans.

Is that what happened to you while you were gone? Did you go home?

At the question though, she gives something between a quiet but tired breath, or a very soft laugh. ]

Oh, god, fuck no I didn't. I spent some time in other worlds. Ones like this one — in that people from all over everywhere popped up without warning or by choice. It was a real party. Especially when both places took away my original powers and replaced them with a new one each time.

[ Which... has also happened in her home universe more than once. Except there, her powers weren't generally replaced by something else. ]

I'm so sorry. That sounds...I can imagine how terrible it must have been.

[She hasn't been through that exactly, but she's lost her powers temporarily here and of course she knows all too well what it's like to wake up with powers you don't understand and can't control.]

And now that you're here? Is it...better now?

It's disorienting, for sure, even if it did happen a few times back home. But, yeah I definitely have my original ones back now; the other's were psychic immunity and seismokinesis, which are both the product of powers that be in those worlds thinking they're funny, I'm sure. But I'm in one piece, and it looks like you guys are here too, both considering the circumstances, which means this is practically a vacation in comparison.

Yes, you missed all the 'fun.' If you call 'fun' barely avoiding fights against teddy bear aliens over a misunderstanding and almost exploding.

It was a very long week. And I feel like we have even more questions now.

We can definitely file that definition of 'fun' under 'fuck that', 'why', and 'nope', just to cover all the bases. Alien misunderstandings and near-explosions really need to chill out.

This is going to sound crazy, but...the reason we couldn't go home was because someone had kidnapped the heart of the ship. It's a baby planet, and it's how the Agrii brought us here. We thought they were the only ones watching but someone else must be. I don't know why.

[A beat.]

...I wonder if the people who kidnapped some of us before want us back now.

Having encountered a living, mutant island once before — which attacked my team, and that I eventually flung into space — that sounds pretty normal, actually.

[ Lorna, your definition of "normal" is absolutely fucked up. ]

So, baby planet equals power in the form of some sort of portal-esque thing equals someone who must have control and oversight of that portal equals probably someone pissed off and those of us brought here with a bigger mystery.

[Wanda just sort of stares at Lorna's image on the communicator for a long moment, because what else can she do?]

You definitely live in the 'interesting' version of our world. It almost sounds like this should be a vacation.

I'd call it a 'hot mess', but 'interesting' works too; and I swear I jinx myself every time I even think of a vacation. [ A soft breath of a laugh. ]

You should tell me more about your version of the world sometime? I'm sure you've heard more about where I'm from, from Billy and Tommy.

I...it does not make a very good story. My world is...missing many of the things that you know. [Like Pietro being alive, for one.] There are no mutants in my world. I would not call it 'boring,' but...

My world isn't that great of a story, either, all things considered. But there are things I like about it, and miss about it, and I'm sure you have things like that to say about yours. If it's something you'd rather not talk about, I won't push, obviously, but I'm always here to talk about anything or nothing.
