Stealth systems? Reeve, currently out of the computers and gutting, sighed. He'd sat down for two minutes to enjoy a bowl of protein paste (can you really enjoy that stuff) and was sitting with his back against the computer Tony was on. At least they were sort of getting along.

"I think we could rig something. I don't know how long term it would be. And I'd be very worried if everyone here who is a suitable defender decided to leave to have more excitement elsewhere. You did sort of sign up for the 'stay put and hope you don't get action' team."

"I signed up for the 'back-up for when something happens' team," Raphael clarifies, not that he means to spook anyone, but that's just been the way things always go.

"But fine. Not everyone needs to go. But it's something that needs to be checked out. If we could just scan 'em from here it'd be easier, but all we can do is figure someone's aboard."

His initial suggestion hasn't been shot down though. "So if we can trick out a ship to have stealth, we can have someone check things out. Less people the better, if we're not looking to start a fight. Heck, we can even try just doing a flyby first, see if we can see inside. Or use scanners at closer range- I don't know, but there's still things we can do while we're ship-sitting out here!"

Above Reeve, Tony could be heard uttering an irritable sigh for this narrowly cautious position he was taking. Raphael's interpretation of what they were doing here was far more realistic. "If there's going to be a fight, I'd rather we took it to them rather than the other way around. Sneak in with our boarding party, that gives us the element of surprise, and we keep them away from you and the kids," Tony pointed out, that last part directed toward Reeve who obviously was getting the most done here in the shuttle bay and didn't need the distraction of an invading force.

Shifting aside just enough to reach under his leg and draw up a shimmering display from the screen he sat on, Tony compiled a list of materials from the shipping manifest, for Raphael to try to read as the projection cut around and through Tony. "A simple stealth system to keep out of sight of scanners is easy enough," he started, grouping a few items on his list with the push of his fingers through it, then rapidly sketching a box with a number of circles in it that was supposed to be a map of the cargo where Raphael might do his most successful shopping. "If you want a whole cloaking mechanism, though, that'll take more time. We might have the materials..." he added more thoughtfully, organizing and drawing again with a less confident pout.

"Stop saying 'we' as if you're getting on whatever ship gets modified," Reeve dismisses Tony's comment. He has another mouthful of food and then sits up a bit more.

"Get the parts, Raphael, and we'll see about getting it done. Who knows, maybe we can make whatever it is do double duty, but time will be needed."

And he's definitely tired. Though he'll still figure it out.

"Yes! That's exactly what I'm talking about!" Sure, he's suggested recon and all, but Raphael's not denying he'd love to mix it up in a fight.

He blinks and looks at the projected list comes up, staring a moment to try making heads or tails out of the rough map of contents. He grins. "A full cloak would be awesome, but we can probably do with just a stealth system to get close."

Ideally he'd love weapons and shields on a ship too- and the speed to maneuver, but if they were going to do this, at least making some ship upgrades at all is a step up.

"On it!" Like he needs any more encouragement. The turtle dashes over towards the first of the crates Tony had pointed out for him.

"Might I suggest a defensive system as well?" Reeve asks. Really, stealth, he thinks, might just be a matter of hiding emissions and deflecting scanning devices.

And for a moment he just has to stand there and be frustrated that he knows these things not because he learned them himself.

"We might be able to use the power systems hook up for that and divert them, when not in active use, into some form of shielding unit. Those force fields the rescue team was looking at does inspire an idea..."

Tony made another noise of irritation at Reeve's claim over what Tony was or was not going to do with his time, and while Raphael's enthusiasm was appreciated, that kind of energy was too much for Tony to keep watching right now, he was sweating enough. He sighed a long breath with a crooked smile at the turtle bounding away, shifting his lists aside to start sketching schematics that transformed as Reeve spoke, trashing elements with a balled fist to draw in new concepts. "Could you see how they worked from down there...?" he asked, meditative posture transforming into trance-like as Tony incrementally pushed more projections around him to contain this idea. "I can see their subroutines, it's a lot of power, no way to cloak out a reading like that if we're going in quiet..." More lists and boxes indicated pushed to one side, Tony raised his voice enough to request, "More hands, please, there's a lot of equipment to find," to the hangar at large, not looking away from his plans until he had enough to clear the space in front of him and lean over the edge of the console to peer down at Reeve, the shimmering light of the projections still reflected in his eyes like most of his focus was still on his notes. "You'll have to check my work, professor. These are Earth models."

"Best defense is a good offense!" comes Raphael's distant response from across the way, just above the clatter of parts as he continues with his given task.

"No system is perfect, Tony. But functional may be all we require, and it is better than nothing if they decide they must go through with this... end game," Reeve says. 'Foolishness' was clearly what he WANTED to say though.

And he wasn't asking for Tony's assistance this time. They were talking about converting and bastardizing Agri tech into Atroma tech to create some gestalt system to defend the others. The whole thing required no communications systems. The Engineering data point would be enough for Reeve to guide other through the process, without the Amazing Mister Stark.

Still, he'd work with Tony on this. The man had... a gift was the best way to put it.

"I prefer Commissioner, but yes, I'll check your work. Even though we know it will only require minor tweaks for integration with the two alien systems we have to deal with."

After that he let himself glance toward Raphael.

"And living is the best offense of all. Shields."

Ren isn't exactly someone to throw himself in front of others to save them but the remnants of whatever Rey had left in his head gave him some sort of desire to keep the team that was staying behind safe. He has a weapon that can do that, a personal weapon, and while he's wary of the child that is Force-sensitive, the other seems just an innocent.

"I'll stay here. I have a personal weapon that no one else can use. Only a Jedi can use a lightsaber." Or a Sith, but Jedi-Sith relations weren't important right now.

"And if they end up boarding us, instead, you'll want someone who can hold off intruders until the liabilities have gotten themselves to safety."

Wait, what? The one Cayde had referred to as 'the weird one with the hair' was going to stay and protect them? That's... rather unexpected. But not unwelcome.

"Yes, I would prefer that. Thank you, Mister Ren."
