Heading to Engineering seemed like the most obvious direction to go. While certainly there are some areas of concern, the overwhelming feelings that linger from whatever had happened aboard the Agrii vessel are too prominent to ignore, at least for the padawan.
It's perhaps the ever-present fear and the occasional spike of hatred combined with the hollow atmosphere, the blinking lights, that call up old memories. At least Cal isn't alone here, and for the most part they're of a similar mind: to locate Ga Re.
He steps towards the console, staring at it a moment. Presumably he could navigate through it but ultimately it would be pointless given he can't read a thing. He glances at the others to see if they might try their luck before turning as he senses something- or rather someone, and he moves towards the back, deeper into the room and the sealed door.
"Someone's..." he starts to say, resting a hand on the cold steel surface. He looks around the sides for the control panel. "Ga Re? Hang on, we'll get this open."
This rescue mission is already getting boring. Took forever for someone to pick a path. Forever for people to then get to the path. And forever for the problem to be discovered. A door. Beyond it probably an answer. There wasn't even plants along the way, or animals. It's horrible.
But Cal finds the door and Tommy moves to lean against the wall by it. And he rolls his eyes.
Open is so slow.
"It would be easier to just go through and bring Ga Re out, right?" he counters. And then he stops leaning against the wall. Instead he puts a hand against it, a hand that is vibrating so fast that it's blurring, like looking at it through someone's super powerful glasses but your eyes are already perfectly normal. And while his hand is blurring, he pushes it against the wall.
Against the wall and then his hand disappears into the wall. After a moment he pulls it back out and shrugs.
Cal glances up, a brow lifting as Tommy appears to phase his hand through. He shrugs, resuming pulling the cover off of the control panel he's found.
"That will work. But we still might need the door open. Won't do us any good if you have to end up taking people in and out all the time," he points out. That said, he's not telling Tommy not to.
"Listen, Chuckles, you do you. But I'm useless out here. Maybe in there I can manage something," Tommy answers, rolling his eyes.
His glance moves briefly to the rest of their group and he spares at nod at those members he cares most about. Not going to, you know, point out that if he fucks up going through he'll blow up the wall. And himself. Better not to express the risks.
Do first. Apologize later.
His whole body vibrates this time, that same blur as before, before he presses right through the wall. And when he gets through on the other side he considers the room. Okay... Interesting. No big red button that says 'open'. That would be too easy. And... uh...
Alien. Four arms. Ga Re. Ah. Tommy moves to the door and knocks against it. Hoping he's got attention he puts his mouth close to it and shouts. Maybe someone on the other side will hear him.
"Found them. It's noisy in here. And there's nothing like some stupid bar across the door or anything. Anyone got earmuffs?!"
It's kind of impressive to watch, but once Tommy's through, there's little point in staring at the door. Cal picks at a couple of wires and tries to do a local reboot to see if that'll loosen the door any.
"Sorry, left my headphones back on Bracca," he says as he works, pulling back his fingers after a few stray sparks fly before setting right back to work. "I think that's-" He pauses as the door hisses and gives a brief shudder, twitching open maybe an inch. "...this thing's really stuck."
He frowns and gets to his feet. "Tommy, can you try pulling it back from your side? I'll try the same on this end."
Bringing up his hand, he focuses as he taps into the Force, grasping at the door to try helping it open the rest of the way.
"Awww, you using me for my strong body, Cal? If you wanted that you could have just asked and I would have held it against you," Tommy teases through the door. "Keep your fingers out of it until we've got it more open. I can get mine out of the way quickly if it tries to kick back."
With that he moves to curl his fingers into the frame and braces himself before starting to pull. Super strong he isn't. Stronger than a human body builder? Yeah. That's just a side effect of what he is.
Wanda blinks and snaps back to the physical world. She can feel Ga Re on the other side of the door, but there's something else, too. Something she hasn't felt in a very long time.
Sometimes she really hates being right.
"Here," she says, shifting her weight to brace herself and then extending a hand wreathed in scarlet energy to help shove the door open. She can't sense anyone else nearby, so they have time to be a little more careful than just blasting it open.
Cal smirks. "Don't flatter yourself," he says, slowly pulling back his hand as he concentrates. "Wasn't planning on using fingers anyway."
He feels the door start to shift with their efforts, and as he senses Wanda moving closer, he glances at her. "Something wrong..?" he asks, even as he moves a little to give her room to stand near the door and apply her own power.
"Awww, but fingers are so sensitive," Tommy teases back. Listen, this is how he deals with stuff. Doesn't even matter that his 'aunt' Wanda is completely in ear shot.
Though seeing the red curls of energy is a relief. The other two are definitely enough for him to squeeze more into the door way to better push. Fun fun fun.
"Hey, let's not lose focus on the door here, Cal. Like, I don't want smooshed. Thanks, Wanda!"
If Wanda wasn't so occupied with more important things, like keeping Tommy from getting squashed, she'd roll her eyes. Time and place, boys. This? This isn't it.
But Tommy is related to a Pietro Maximoff...
"I felt something, but...let's just get the door open."
"All right, all right," Cal says at Tommy's insistence, but he supposes if it were him wedged between a steel door then he'd have his concerns as well.
The door begins to ease back with their collective efforts, ensuring that Tommy doesn't become a speedster sandwich in the process.
It's both the time AND the place. Tommy's got all the time in the world, and there is no where else he is so yeah. Totally proper. Especially since he actually had no interest in Cal like that.
But really, he's not concerned. He's cool as a metaphorical cumato and when he feels it start to give more, Tommy grins. He shifts between the door and the wall and squirms until he gets a leg up against the door, where he can really push. It's got some really great movement too. Yay!
Wanda sinks further into her back heel and, eyes flashing red, gives one side of the doors a good psychic yank. The metal protests - oops - but the resistance from that side lessens greatly. She knows logically that Tommy can get out of the way if this goes wrong, but that doesn't mean she likes seeing him in such a vulnerable position.
Awww, thanks not-Mom. Of course now the whole thing is open enough that he can't get leverage with his legs. But, it also means... Tommy grins and slips out of the space. Finally he's in position to properly brace his shoulder and really put his legs into it. To run against the thing.
That gives another mighty heave to the system. Was that the sound of something breaking in the door mechanism? Ah, who cares. The door is slamming open and Tommy is grinning.
Cal feels the door give, and once it's apparent that thing's not going to slide back out so easily, he relinquishes his hold through the Force. He smiles at Tommy and Wanda, and then looks past the speedster for their until now never-seen-in-person alien host.
Wanda rushes in behind them. Nothing in here looks familiar, but the singing...it's not a familiar source, but it resonates in the same place in her mind as the others did.
"Yeah, I hear it," Tommy grumbles under his breath, hands coming up to cover his ears. He fucking hated the noise. "There's a reason I asked for ear plugs or some shit."
The frequency of the singing was really getting to him.
"It's a baby planet." For lack of better words, but Wanda's never been the scientific type. "The Atroma used one to kidnap us before. The Agrii must be using this one's power to bring us here."
She glances over at Tommy. Nice try, but uh...that's not going to do very much. "It's in your mind. I can try to shield you?"
Baby planet? That makes, like, NO sense. Tommy sighs and shakes his head.
"Can mind shielding keep my head from ringing? Because if so, go for it. All I care about is getting our fucking answers. Ga Re didn't really give me anything useful when I shot her a few after getting in here.

More links to the Atroma. Given what he's heard about them, he wonders that any link is a good thing. He turns his attention to Ga Re.
"Are you all right, Ga Re?"
