A: Hollow Ships

[ Cloud has only ever seen one rocket before and seen space for a short period of time. After being here for a while, he wanted to go exploring towards the spaceships. Cid would have gotten a kick out of them and probably would want to know everything about it. Cloud's curiosity was mostly to venture out, look at them, maybe learn something. He's quiet as he stays outside of the ships, silently looking over the shape and make of them. ]

Shinra would have a field day with this.

[ It's a small side comment, particularly stated at no one. Cloud could be surprised by anyone willing to listen in to his private side conversations with himself out loud. He goes up to one of the doors and places a gloved hand upon it. However, the door doesn't respond nor does it open. He tilts his head to the side while lifting an eyebrow. Interesting. ]

[ When the feed comes on, Cloud's eyes are downward. He doesn't seem all that happy about recording. It's easier and quicker and harder to not hit send. ]

My name is Cloud Strife. How can someone find spare parts for a motorcycle if they ever need them?

[ A question that may be relevant. He pauses a little as his eyebrows knit towards the center. Cloud has to continue to make connections even here. So, he's going to also offer in the help he's been used to doing back home. ]

Does anyone need or want someone to make deliveries?

[ Want to do something not listed? Go for it! He'll be hanging around the hotel. Maybe you can catch him around on his motorcycle since he will be driving slowly with it at first. PM me if you want to hash out or discuss anything. ]

All I need is a few bandages and then we can be out of here. Maybe we won't run into Jon or Tony. If you want to provide more details on them, that's up to you.

[ Cloud has heard Tony's name get brought up twice now. But it's not really something he's going to linger on. He's not good at telling people he has crushes on them or his feelings in general. Reeve's going to have to try protecting his own heart. ]

Tony start is... like me. But younger, more arrogant, and an amazing genius.

[And there might be a touch of fondness in his voice as he guides Cloud to seek out supplies.]

Jon... looks like a stereotypical librarian. But male.

[backoff]

[ Cloud is thankful for the guidance because he would be certainly lost over where to even start to look. He wouldn't have minded that being here alone scouting for supplies. ]

So... they're both smart.

[ It's a good connection to make between the both of them. ]

Jon may be smart in some ways. But Tony is a genius. They're likely involved.

[With each other. He finally heads to the right door and opens it. And look, there are still some. Not much though.]

There is a device called a replicator as well. IT could make bandages.

[ He looks over at Reeve pressing his lips together. ]

You know I'm not too good at these things. I will listen though. If you need to talk about it.

[ Cloud can sure listen and be quiet about it. Reeve may need it and he was here. ]

Yeah, I heard about it. It's in a small building by the hotel. I'll be sure to use it now that I have some of these. I know supplies will be in short supply.

[No, he won't dare ask Cloud for that. Because... He doesn't think Cloud is really a good person to give him a listen on this.]

We're still learning how to make things here. But your need will be important to address. You... could talk to Jon. He's a doctor.

[backoff]

[ He's not mad but he offered at least. Cloud can't feel guilty about that. ]

Do you think Jon will be the best person to talk to about my condition?

[No, probably not, but...]

I don't know other people with the medical skill set.

[backoff]

I will ask him if it comes up.

[ Otherwise, the people here don't need to be in a panic or worry about him. Cloud can easily take care of himself for the most part. He could easily pass out somewhere if not careful. But he will be as careful as he needs to be. ]

That seems the best plan. And Cloud...

[Reeve pauses, reaching out to touch Cloud's untainted arm.]

Don't give up. When you go back, you're probably only a few hours from a cure. Trust me on that. I've seen it myself. You're still strong, even if you may not see it.

[Oh, and the other thing. Reeve bites his lip.]

I don't know if you've had it yet or not, but expect a lecture from Tifa if you haven't already. She gave us a bit of a twist about it when the team came together to help. I think I'd rather be on the receiving end of her fists than her disapproving lectures.

[backoff]

[ He tenses for a moment before relaxing while glancing down at his hand. Cloud gives a small nod to Reeve. He looks him in the eyes. ]

Tifa already gave me a lecture. [ There's a flash of guilt that goes over his face and shows within his eyes. ] I'm going to try to not keep dilly dallying, even while being here.

I need to at least be useful. [ This is hard for him to admit but here he is. ] I need to keep myself busy.

No doubt we can find a number of uses for you here. If nothing else, I understand there is need for delivery of food from the greenhouse to the place where one man effectively runs a meal-house for others. So some strength of arm is always useful. There's also an old store around that seems to have unbuilt furniture, that could stand to be pulled out, moved where needed, and built. It's...

There is as much work as there is desire to assist.

[And much of it beyond Reeve's scope of understanding.]

[backoff]

[ He keeps to mind everything Reeve says. Because he's going to start asking those people what they need help with. Cloud can easily go back to doing tasks he doesn't really have skill in. He will be incredibly picky over certain jobs though. However, when it comes to things he can easily do, he can do them. ]

I thought there is no need for delivery. That's all I've been hearing. I don't even care what the item is, it's not my business. This is a good start to asking what people may need.

[ And he's going to try to do it in a more personal matter. As he can learn to do better with. Cloud shoves his supplies where they're needed. ]

I think we can leave the hospital now.

There is a young man that can do a lot, when he's motivated to it. But whoever told you that was incorrect.

[Which means here is Reeve, contradicting Jon. Oops.]

Not deliveries as a business, but assistance. We're forced to be a community. But yes, let us go.

[He still doesn't want to run into the others, so he just turns around and starts back toward the doors. Just please, let him slip out unremarked upon]

[backoff]

You don't have to me about that. [ He's been there plenty of times. Cloud continues to have the same dipping emotions of not being motivated. ]

Yeah, I don't have to worry about money. [ Cloud doesn't have to worry about expenses for now or a long while. ] Basically making connections. We help out in Edge a lot so it's probably no real difference. It's having a starting point that can be difficult.

[ Cloud quickly follows after Reeve almost not paying attention when he started walking out of the hospital. ]

Starting points abound here. It's... almost overwhelming.

[Even for him. And he gave so much to help Edge and Kalm and many other places.]

And not everyone is united in their desire.

[Yes, he supposes Cloud does. Cloud hadn't even always been in agreement with himself, thanks to Sephiroth. But that wasn't going to be what he said. He wanted to make the man more comfortable.]

If you're referring to the period of time where I spied on you, that is a good point.

I thought I was referring to the time where Avalanche constantly went up against Shinra.

[ He smirks about it since that's more what he was thinking. That wouldn't be good if they started forcing people to join in on their cause. It's better to have them decide on their own. ]

[Reeve keeps walking, away from the hospital. Like putting distance between him and it can take away his problems.]

Of course, in those days, after I came to agree, it seemed... right. What you were doing.

In the beginning I was only there for the money. I didn't want to get to know any of them.

[ That slowly changed realizing what they were really up against. ]

Barret kept talking about protecting the planet. It's hard to believe in that right off the bat.

[They're far enough at last, and Reeve starts to slow down.]

I know what you mean, how hard it was to believe. I made the reactors what they are, long before I ever learned the truth. When it was confirmed for me when traveling with your group... Well, I may have spent a very long time in my bathroom.

[ Not that Cloud couldn't keep up the fast pace if Reeve wanted to keep going. But he did notice the change in pace. ]

You didn't fully know what you were doing. You were doing what was needed for a city. None of us knew what was really happening. Barret had a lot of speeches.

Speeches can change the world. If people are lisstening.

Certain speeches out there can hurt others if they are littered with lies.
