001 👑 my tears are always frozen

Who: Sansa Stark & You
What: Exploration
When: during the first week of arrival
Where: Greenhouse, "Hotel", Fountain
Warnings: None at this time; will update if necessary

001. fountain

( Sansa isn't certain about Agra 10 just yet. She'd adapted well enough to the Fleet, as it was, and then she'd returned to Westeros for a whirlwind of events. She remembers being with Tyrion as a true wife and it'd been wonderful for the short time she'd experienced it; it hadn't been something she'd done upon return to Westeros but would Tyrion have remembered? Would he have even accepted her advances without thinking it a trick? She doesn't know.

Now, however, she finds herself before a fountain. She remembers them in King's Landing, ornate things where water jumped and played. They were of little use, other than ornament, but this one has cool, clear water and Sansa tests it by cupping her hands and bringing it to her lips to drink. It's sweet water, too, and she thinks this is an important thing to remember; she has no idea what other water might be on the planet. She's dribbled it all over her front when she hears someone approach and she clears her throat a bit, startled. )

Sorry, I was just testing to see if it was drinkable. It seems that it is so if we cannot find additional water, at least we have this.

002. greenhouse

( Sansa finds herself drawn to a room that seems, for all the world, quite like the glass gardens at Winterfell. Those glass gardens have been destroyed both by the Boltons and later by the Night King but Sansa remembers how they were when she was a girl. She spots a glowing container with seeds in it and touches it lightly, surprised to realize she knows everything about the plants in this room just now. She knows which are edible and which aren't and she knows how to tend them as well.

She goes through the rows of plants, touching something like a cherry and something like one of the ripe, sweet melons of the Summer Isles. There's a berry that's as poisonous as Tears of Lys and Sansa keeps well away from it, not even daring to touch it. There's another that looks rather like the plant that makes The Strangler but it seems to be perfectly benign. When she sees someone else about to pop one of the poisonous berries into their mouth, she holds up her hands and shouts. )

No, don't! It's poison! There are others which are good but not that one. Come, let me show you which are all right to eat and which aren't.

003. hotel

( Sansa had been used to her accommodations in the Fleet and while they were austere, they were clean and safe. There's no such thing here on Agra 10. The only beds seem to be in an abandoned hotel and they seem dusty with disuse. She doesn't know where she's going to lay her head tonight but she'll need to clear out a room and claim it.

It doesn't take long to make one of the rooms livable. There's no mattresses but the furniture is still in good shape. There doesn't seem to be any damage, really, only the lack of mattress for the bed presents a problem. Sansa thinks she can stuff a mattress if she must but she decides she might look over in the hospital to see if they have one instead; before she creates, she would rather improvise. The Gods have provided for her in the Fleet before so perhaps they will here.

She steps into the corridor and almost bowls into another person. It's not like her, at all, but she recovers and gives the person a small smile. )

Forgive me, I've managed to nearly knock you down. I was too focused on how to make this room livable, apparently.

Sansa?

[Wanda can't hide the tremble in her voice. There are so many dear friends she'd had to say goodbye to knowing she was never going to see them again. She thinks of Sansa often - any time she braids her hair, every time she saw the beautiful gown Sansa had made for her after Vision's painting, whenever she tastes something that reminds her of lemons. She'd hoped that whatever Sansa went back to that she found happiness. She deserved it.

And now she's here too...or a version of her. One can rarely tell at first glance, aside from some small identifying markers like Wanda's wedding ring.

And that tiny fairy dragon perched on Wanda's shoulder who's chirping curiously, but she's a new addition to the Maximoff-Vision household.]

Do you remember me?

[Wanda's eyes start to water and a heartbeat later she rushes forward to catch Sansa in a hug. Thistle barely has time to evacuate her shoulder.

Look, it's been a long year.]

I missed you so much. Are you all right?

[Sansa's crying, and so Wanda starts crying for real too. Even in her time on the Fleet, she was never able to get anyone back. Pietro had been there, once, but only in that nebulous time she couldn't remember.]

It was a year for us. I always wished I could check on the rest of you, make sure you were all right. But I never forgot.

I just wanted you to be happy. And I'm so, so proud of you.

[She has regrets that she couldn't physically be there to support and protect her friend but she's glad that the memories at least were able to help sustain Sansa. And they're together now, and with their skill sets combined maybe there's some hope for this place after all.

Thistle lands on the edge of the fountain, tilts her head at Lady, and chirps. Under Wanda and Vision's care she's never had any reason to be afraid, and so as far as she's concerned Lady is just a very fluffy maybe-friend.]

I'm sorry you're here but it's so good to see you.

Hotel

[personal profile] beenalongday 2019-09-05 06:21 pm (UTC)(link)
[ Clint's not particularly comfortable with the hotel either, but it's a place to stay, and it's shelter, even if it's the rough kind. And honestly, when he's been out on missions, he's had a lot rougher than this, so it doesn't bother him that much.

Still, if one is looking for all the comforts of home, they obviously won't find it here. He's on his way out of the hotel, intending to stretch his legs and continue working on acclimating to this place when suddenly, he very narrowly misses crashing into Sansa. ]

Hey, don't worry about it, I wasn't really looking where I was going either.

[ He has a lot to think about, the least of which is how he's going to adjust to life on this strange planet, but that's no excuse. ]

I guess whoever put this together wasn't really thinking about making things comfortable. Or maybe they just didn't know what that even means.

[ He shrugs. Comfortable or not, at least it's a room. But he focuses back on Sansa and asks: ]

How's that going for you?

Greenhouse

[personal profile] unbearablynaive 2019-09-05 08:27 pm (UTC)(link)
[And who should be in the greenhouse but the android who had made his own gardens back on the Twin Roses? He's been doing some work on the upper floors - there's still plenty of pruning and cleaning up to do so the precious food plants can thrive, and he's been volunteering to deal with a particular thorny-stalked plant that produces a sweet, pastry-like edible flower. Sometimes having impenetrable skin can come in handy.

So he's headed down the nearest staircase with a basket full of hefty flower petals and sees a new arrival, and he barely manages not to drop it.]

I hardly believe my eyes. Sansa, is that you?
unbearablynaive: (slight smile)

[personal profile] unbearablynaive 2019-09-06 12:25 am (UTC)(link)
My dear friend.

[He sets down the basket and quickly rushes over to her, smiling, and takes her hand in both of his. (He's not quite sure if she'd allow a hug.)]

I am so very glad to hear that you've done well for yourself. But--are you saying you remembered everything?

[Because--they never had, when people had gone home from the Fleet, but things were different at the end there. If people could remember, maybe--maybe a lot more people had a chance. Oh, but that's good to hear.

And she's the Queen? How charming and perfect.]

I'm here, and Wanda's here as well, and a few others from the Drift Fleet. We spent a year together on that last planet we visited, Naviadna--it's been lovely, but we did miss you.

Fountain

[personal profile] the_tailor 2019-09-06 02:53 pm (UTC)(link)
[It's been a bit of a tiring day so far for Lance. After doing a bit of work on the farm and greenhouse, he'd taken to cleaning up the dilapidated hotel room he and Keith were staying in some more, though much of it was a lost cause. Right now, he needs a cool drink of water and a sit down.

Upon reaching the fountain, he sees a familiar figure, and for a little while he forgets about his exhaustion.]

We do. Too small a pool of water for proper swimming lessons, though, y'know?
unbearablynaive: (convincingly)

[personal profile] unbearablynaive 2019-09-06 07:01 pm (UTC)(link)
[He hugs her back fiercely and keeps his hands on her shoulders when she lets go; his face is a conflict of emotions between gratitude and astonishment. Nobody's ever said anything like that to him before (well, except Wanda, but she's his wife so it's different). It's possibly the best compliment he could ever receive. His voice is rough when he replies.]

What is lost can be found again, my dear. If I helped to set you on the right track for it, I am deeply moved.

[He squeezes her shoulders and lets go, still smiling.]

I cannot think of a frame of mind I would more gladly see in a leader. I'm very proud of you, Sansa.

[There's so much to work on here that he's concerned he might lose sight of things under the pile of tasks to be done sometimes, but...only for a moment. Because he has friends like Sansa who help give him a fresh perspective, and what could be more important than that?]

[personal profile] beenalongday 2019-09-06 10:30 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah, seems like there's a lot of that going on around here. And as for this place, well, it's definitely a real fixer-upper.

[ He takes a look around at the surroundings before focusing back in on her. She seems like she's made of tough stuff, if his first impression of her can be counted on for anything. The more people they have like that, the better, in Clint's opinion. This isn't going to be a walk in the park. ]

I mean, it's not a foolproof idea, but what if people contribute whatever clothing they can spare? On the other hand, that might backfire if the weather turns bad, but- It's a thought, anyway.
unbearablynaive: (ah yes)

[personal profile] unbearablynaive 2019-09-07 04:15 am (UTC)(link)
Ah, we would both have enjoyed that very much, I think. [Wanda had always had a soft spot for castles, and the Vision would have been so amused to be in the ancestral home of the Starks.

At the question his eyes light up, and he lifts up the basket he'd set down before.]

Gathering breakfast foods, actually. Finding this greenhouse was a great boon. Most of the plants here are edible, and the data point is invaluable in letting us know their properties. Would you like to try one of these flower petals?
unbearablynaive: (does that make sense)

[personal profile] unbearablynaive 2019-09-10 02:37 am (UTC)(link)
Ah, yes. I have the same, as well as a few others. [He wonders if he should tell her about Tommy, his It's-Complicated-But-We're-Family relationship, but--best not. Let Tommy bring it up; she'll no doubt find him as he's also got the agriculture data point.]

The building here is vast, and there are many overgrown sections of the city as well. We should have no trouble feeding us all, even without hunting as a supplement.

[He grabs one of the flower petals and hands it to her - it's sweet and bready, but not overly so. An American would think it's mild, but anyone else would think it's pleasantly sweet.]
beenalongday: (pic#13360215 (Endgame))

[personal profile] beenalongday 2019-09-11 03:38 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah, and I guess if clothing doesn't work, there's leaves and moss and other things around that could be used as fabric substitutes.

[ Or maybe that wouldn't work at all, but people used to make woven blankets from plant materials. He supposes they could attempt to do the same, if worst comes to worst.

But then she's introducing himself, and Clint's quick to smile in return. ]

Nice to meet you.

[ It doesn't bother him that she's just now remembering about introductions. They have other bigger priorities besides exchanging names, although considering they're most likely stuck here for awhile, making connections seems like a good idea. ]

Clint Barton.

[ And then he holds out a hand for her to shake, if she's so inclined. ]
