[Lookie here, it's Tommy, looking shaken as hell. Makes sense, he's lost more of his people recently and he's NOT doing okay. So you know what that means! Tommy needs a fucking project, and he thinks he's moving on pretty well with the one he's got.]

Yo. So know how I was looking for help making some sorta hydroponics shit in the hangars of at least the Twin Roses and possibly some other ships if people want it? Think I've found people to help me make it. Just...

Turns out we need parts. And one of the dudes helping me? He's stuffy and NOT cool with me taking things out of abandoned buildings if they can be salvaged and lots of other shit and well, anyway some of the stuff we'll need is apparently small and custom.

So basically I'm supposed to ask if, seeing as that replicator thing is now here and all that shit, people might be willing to help out by donating a replication or two a month to helping us replicate packages of the small parts that are important for the drip irrigation something or other thingamabob.

Think about it, bros and bros who aren't amab or who are agender and fuck backtrack need something better. Okay, think about it my fellow kidnapees. Fresh produce. On ship. Whenever they kidnap us.

Hell, I'll even tend it when we're not on ships. If you want your ship to have a hydroponics thing. Just let me in once a 60hr cycle and I'll fucking tend the hell out of those bitches.

[ It's okay, Tommy. Jon has his own way of cheating.

The moment he reaches the district he can already pick up a rather certain type of dread. Yes, there are stronger sorts of fears, more existential ones. But what he picks up from Tommy, has expected to pick up from the mutant, does fall directly into the category of fears he himself is the avatar of. Subtle, maybe, but still present: The fear of being watched, followed, judged or having your secrets known. And God knows this boy doesn't want to be turned inside out. ]

Maybe it's not.

[ He still responds to his phone, but then turns it off as his hand pushes open the door he knows he will find Tommy behind. ]

But I still want to talk.

[Oh that is absolutely underhanded cheating methods. And also absolutely the sort of fear Tommy has going on, under old traumas.

He flinches when the door to the store that is his home opens and Tommy, behind an old counter where he'd put his bed down, pops to his feet in shock. Holy fuck how did the guy time that so well? And now there is a new surge of fear, because the guy FOUND HIM.]

[ And while Jon closes the door behind him, he allows himself a moment to take in that fear as well. There is a bit of a relief in him that he still hates how good it feels to be there and simply observe this dread. Partially being the reason for it.

It's that part of himself Jon focuses on to keep himself from plain staring at Tommy and simply drink in all of that deeply rooted fear along with the fresh one.

He exhales, then decides to clear up the confusion. ]

I can see your fear, Tommy. It's that simple.

[That's... fucking scary in its own right. Enjoy the next new sort of fear.]

[ Fear of the unknown? Sure, he'll take that. And step forward into the building, crossing his arms. ]

Or you can simply tell me what happened. It's not me that had you this worked up in the beginning.

[No, maybe it wasn't him at first, but Tommy isn't about to talk about that without his hand being forced. Which it totally isn't yet.]

[ He won't even comment on that. There are no set laws on this planet and they both know that. But this is just Tommy trying to redirect the attention. Not necessarily a healthy way of dealing with anything.

Scowling, the Archivist focuses, deciding to try and see if simple compulsion works on the mutant. If it does, Tommy might not even realize just what the Archivist is attempting to do.

The command is spoken in a very deliberate manner. ]

[No, he might not realize, but he's definitely going to question it later. And maybe some day decide that Jon is worse than blue-drink.]

Hux yelled at me. Because I got verbally strong armed into getting help from someone else for a project, which is stupid, because Hux sure as fuck took the project from my brother in the first place.

[ Jon quietly processes the information with a frown. ]

Hux. Altair’s partner... I heard he can be pretty strong-willed, yes.

[ That’s more of an observation. Though it is a bit troublesome that a little conflict gets to Tommy to such a degree. Jon slowly walks around the counter, approaching the mutant. ]

You sure have a talent for picking fights... But more importantly: Do you need help sorting the matter out with him? Altair likely will have to deal with the other end of the argument anyway. Filling him in on what happened could help all of you.

Party Man's what now?

[Tommy stares in shock. He didn't know someone as cool as Altair was with someone as... disappointing as Hux.]

I didn't fucking pick a fight with him. I make a mistake. And he started shouting at me.

[And again, that shiver of fear, old and yet still leaving blazing trails in his mind. It's been years, but the damage is still there.]

It's not my place to get in their personal business as a couple or whatever.

Then I will let Altair know to expect Hux being upset when he gets home. And why.

[ And yes, he does pull out his phone to start typing. ]

Though knowing Altair, he might rather hear it from you. He wouldn't want either of you being upset. Especially not with one another. We all make mistakes, but they hardly justify being shouted at.

[ Though at the same time Jon is well aware how Tommy can be: Difficult. ]

I don't think Altair should really have to be involved in this, okay? If the guy is with Wannabe Frank, then he should be in Wannabe's corner.

You know, these sort of problems might get less out of hand if you tried to talk to people without speeding ahead in the discourse, cut out the name-calling and the rash assumptions.

No one is your enemy, Tommy, but you don't exactly make it easy for anyone yourself.

You're avoiding the issue again by attempting to reroute the matter and passing out blame.

Confrontations are normal. No one likes them, but we all have to deal with them. But rather than dealing with the one that left you this worked up, you are already picking the next fight.

[He really is trying to avoid the issue. The guy triggered all the worst memories of growing up and Tommy hates him for it. Hux had... had rendered him a scared little kid. He's fought the end of the world, multiple times. And HUX got him down by only shouting. It's not that easy.]

I can deal with plenty of confrontations. I'd be a shit hero if I couldn't. You're the one here trying to start a fight. I've got friends, I do friend well. He's the one that flipped out. And you're the one that came here to, what, make me feel bad? News flash, I already feel like shit, because I fell through with doing something to make the woman that isn't my Mom feel a bit better after she keeps losing people she loves. And it's my fault.
