Do you think so? [Now, there's a way Tony hadn't thought about it yet...] I don't know if I would be a different person if the first wedding had happened. It would have been a challenge to be faithful.

Men are not meant to be faithful. Even a man who loves his lady wife takes mistresses. It's just the way of the world.

Women are expected to be faithful, yes. Men don't have the same duties.

Meant to be. Expected to be. I personally have never had the desire to be executed for bearing some man's bastard son while married to someone else so I haven't strayed but I'm sure some woman somewhere has. Not all children are conceived under duress.

I wouldn't be. However, I would be expected to endure it. It's what women do.

I had a partner, really recently, sleep with someone that they knew would hurt me. I don't know if 'endured' would be the way I'd say I handled it, but I forgave them and we moved on, I guess. It ended, that relationship and that part of my life, before I could say how we dealt with it, really.

If they were here now, though, I don't know how often I would think about it. A lot, probably.

I think, maybe, you have to hate yourself a lot to do that, is what I'm trying to say.
