Who: Hux and You
What: Exploring
When: The first few days of arrival
Where: Power Plant/Exploration up till the Power Plant
Warnings: None at the moment will update if necessary
Upon arriving at the strange world, Hux wasted little time at the hotel, or at least the building claiming to be a hotel. Everything around him appeared to be rundown and not been in use for a long time. It felt like the particular hotel was being used for the first time in ages.
He had a lot of questions, but there was no host to ask them to. Everyone around him appeared to be just as confused. The last few things Hux remembered were his times aboard the S.S.Bishop. It didn't feel right either. This wasn't a simple drift he was accustomed to of late. He felt on edge and restless.
Hux decided to set out and explore wanting to gain a better understanding of what had happened. Maybe he would see a familiar face or learn of what happened to his cat Millicent. And if the ships were still around.
Eventually his wanderings found himself in front of a stone gate with a sign with a bunch of markings he couldn't understand. He found what appeared to be a pathway, but that itself took time. It was only through sheer stubbornness that Hux managed to find a bunch of buildings. Hux had been hesitant on taking some of the plants with him as samples to study later, but not knowing what they were and having the right equipment he refrained.
It took a couple of days of exploring for Hux to gain an understanding the purpose of the building and what needed to work....which was pretty much everything. The humming sound of what appeared to be crystal rods gave him a lot of hope. This seemed to be a possible power source. Yet, Hux didn't understand how it worked. In another building he came across a small floating orb. Curious, Hux reached with his gloved hand to touch it. He seemed to gain an understanding of how things worked and what was expected. Was this like the augment he had back with the Fleet? It felt like it. He smiled, pleased with the knowledge he gained and began to set to work on what could be done to get everything in working order. He knew if he could get this plant to operate it could get the rest of the area back up and running.

So, waiting for the right moment, she finally revealed herself to him by dropping down from the tree next to him.
"So... whaddya say this place is?"
Surprise elf!

He had no clue that someone had been following him let alone was near by. It appeared to be a child. He also noted it wasn't human as well. Of course. The first person he would interact with would be a child. He ran a gloved hand through his hair. He had to admit he did like the fact the other went right to the point.
"This place was once a power plant. It used to provide the energy for the people that lived here at one point." Hux carefully explained. He tried his best to keep it in simple terms, while he himself was still trying to understand everything as well.
no subject
"How can a building provide energy?" She knew what energy was, but the term 'power plant' conjured a whole different image in her head than what he likely meant. Simple terms were okay, but she came from a world that was at the level of medieval humanity. She wasn't going to understand technology without touching that orb.
no subject
He wished he had a better example to show her. He believed she may not fully understand the concept with out seeing it for herself.
no subject
"Oh. That's actually pretty handy. And the energy it houses, that can make things in the city work again, yeah?"
no subject
"Yes, that is the goal for now. I'm hoping if I can find enough people who can help or have knowledge to help we can get this place up and running. Then we can go onto other important matters."
no subject
"That thing over there gives the knowledge, right?" She considered that, but... nope. This wasn't her thing. She'd honestly rather do something else. "Maybe ya could get a crew together and have them all touch it."

So he's poking at one of the screens farther into the complex and muttering to himself, using a crystal to have turned the thing on and now trying to determine the logic of the operating system. He seems pretty caught up in his work, but when he hears a noise he turns around quickly. He's a pretty tall, lanky human with braided hair, and an observant person will catch the metallic glint of some kind of ports along his neck when his hair swishes out of the way.
"Ah, good evening. Are you here to restore the function of this building as well?"
no subject
Vash is currently hovering a gloved hand over those crystal robs. Looking deep and lost in thought he doesn't notice Hux right away.
no subject
"What do you plan to do here?"
no subject
He was starting to wonder if he would find other people here or if he would have to leave the plant itself to find people. His luck outside the plant upon arrival hadn't been great.
no subject
"Excellent. Have you downloaded the information from the data point?" Because that's an obvious place to start, if he's really interested in getting things running. "These crystals appear to be a power source; the plant seems designed in part to recharge them. I am not sure what sort of fuel it consumes, however; we can hope for something renewable."
no subject
"Is there anything I can help you with?" he called out seeing the other's lost expression.
no subject
"Perhaps we can research what is used to recharge them."
no subject
She shrugged at the question. "I'm not really sure, yet. I guess I could learn what the creatures are like 'round here an' hunt for food for people. I'm more of a fighter than anythin' else."
no subject
She was proving to be an interesting child. She wasn't a typical child he had been accustomed to seeing, but it wasn't a surprise either. He had seen a few backwater children that were raised to fight and take are of their people at a young age.

"And what they power, aside from the machinery in this building. I think there are other locations...."
He trails off for a few seconds, distracted, then shakes his head and looks away from the screen to focus on the other person. "My apologies. I had thought to take inventory of how many crystals we have, determine a means of recharging them, and then noting all locations in the portions of the city we have access to that may be powered by them. Did you have a similar thought?"
no subject
She watched him.
"So, didja learn anythin' useful?"
Sorry for the delay! Was waiting for an answer to a question!
no subject
"It seemed to be the logical way of handling things. It's best to know what we have available and what needs the crystal rods. I feel there should be a way to recharge them. How else were they able to stay in good shape with no one around? They had to have been charged at one point.
What other locations do you believe they are to be in?"
No worries!
Having never interacted with the other Hux wasn't sure what Vash was capable of doing. He wasn't going to say no to any type of help. Yet, he was curious to see what the other had in mind.
"Did you have any particular plans?"
no subject
He shakes his head slowly. "Then again I'm not sure that's smart. I could hurt myself or overload the system, but on the other hand if I don't try then we'll never know."
no subject
"If we were to use your ability I would rather play this safe. You don't need to get hurt or weakened by such an attempt. I also really don't know how those crystal rods would react to your power."
no subject
Hux carefully explained while trying to remember all the pieces and diagrams that the data point had given him.

"Well, it does look pretty broken down, so I can see it'll be a lot o' work." She looked it over, and then glanced at the surrounding area as well. "Ya know... ya might be needin' more than just people to fix this place. Ya might need a few people to make sure nothin' comes outta them woods to attack."
HIS FRIEND!
Captain America trying to catch a cat. Someone get the news.
He follows her as she races into the power plant and loses her for a terrifying second as he tries to get his bearings. It's a sound, like someone working, that has him moving once more. Moving, it turns out, towards an old friend. One who now has a happy looking cat butting a head against his leg. Steve stops, stunned. It couldn't be. But....
"Hux?"
HI FRIEND!
His hands shook as he bent down to pick up the cat. "Millicent, I had been so worried about you," he said softly as he held the cat close to him and petted her. He closed his eyes briefly listening to her happy purring.
It didn't dawn on him that Steve was right there till he heard his name called out. He felt his cheeks redden for having shown such a raw display of emotion. He was glad that Millicent hid the fact his hands still trembled.
"Steve?.... How is this possible? What's going on here?" he managed to reply once he gained a steady voice.
no subject
"Ha! I have no idea," he says while looking no less pleased. "But it's good to see you."
Steve pulls back and just squeezes Hux's shoulders as he looks him over head to toe. Millie is still there and Steve's smile turns a little sad knowing his friend finally has her owner once more.
"When you left, Millie stayed with me. It's been awhile since then. Have you already heard what happened in the Fleet?"
no subject
Delta shakes his head as if to clear it. "There was a broken lift in the tall building near the fountain, and a slot that may match these crystals. I would want it to be fully powered before reactivating the lift, however, as I do not desire to become stuck in an elevator shaft."
no subject
"I'm assuming you would like to be charge of such a force? If we can gather such people?"
no subject
"Me? In charge?" Woah... "I-I... Um. I was just suggestin' the idea..." She didn't have that kind of experience! She was still new to the whole idea of being a professional fighter anyway. But to lead a security force?
no subject
"How is the hospital running? I would believe that would consider a main priority as well."
no subject
Hux stated as he placed a crystal rod inside his coat. He wanted to have one on his person just in case they needed to test. He also wanted to make sure these were the main energy source or if there were other energy sources.
no subject
He relaxed once more though and placed a hang upon Steve's shoulder in return. "Thank you for taking care of her. However just because I am here it doesn't mean she has to stay with me all the time.
As for the Fleet, I have not heard anything since I had left. I am in the dark."
no subject
I just wanted to get an idea of where you stood with this. Your hesitation says a lot and I respect that. I know many young folk would have leapt at such a chance and then made too many risk moves in the process. I am glad that you are trying to see the full picture."
no subject
"I've already done the big mistakes thing. I'd rather not repeat it."
Pushing herself to hard to come on such an important mission as the assassination of the Katolis ruling family, only to fail at killing the human guard who spotted them and ruining the element of surprise... yeah. She'd made big mistakes by attempting something she wasn't ready for already.

Who knows what Agri physiology is like, anyway?

Steve's smile wanes after hearing that Hux knew nothing of the Fleet. "The Atroma were defeated," he says simply. "We were all given the choice to go home or to stay. People made their decisions. I personally stayed." Even though the reason he'd stayed had been ruined by the Agrii for almost a full year.
"But either way, the Agrii brought us here so I guess it didn't matter what we picked."
no subject
"As for the main topic at hand I would appreciate it if you let me know of others who would be willing to protect the area. I'm sure there are others like yourself who would want to do so."
no subject
He believed it would be a good idea to figure out who worked on what so they could eventually meet in the middle and save time.
no subject
"I can certainly ask around an' see what others think," she said. "Looks like we're all gonna hafta work together."
no subject
"I encountered a young man who called himself Billy," he says, "and have seen others around who seemed too engrossed in their own business to warrant conversation. I believe we will have enough resources to resolve this problem."
It's kind of refreshing to have something like this to work on, actually, rather than desperately fighting against an overbearing corporate interest.
