"Tell me which to aim at. if this goes wrong I don't want to throw off your shots."
And he's already building a strong charge in his materia.

Cayde waits a moment before he says anything, keeping against the wall as a couple more lasers streak past.
"Sundance says there's five left, one on the ceiling and two on the floor, two on your side, on the wall. Roughly thirty feet ahead of us. I'll take care of the one on the ceiling, you just bowl your thing right down that side. If it don't take out the rest, I'll clean up."

The joke doesn't stop him from processing the information, or building the spell to a higher level. At last he takes a breath, thrusts his arm forward, and releases the spell.
Turned out that magic didn't care as much about the laws of physics as it should have. The fireball did in fact form, large and powerful, rolling with speed into his targets. And even singing the one on the ceiling just a little.
"Ah. It seems it might be more potent. How intriguing. Perhaps the area here is more charged with mana than it might be elsewhere."
no subject
"Could be? I mean, you never know, in space. Hey, maybe it's got something to do with why this place was left alone. -also, we're clear."
no subject
"Clear for now," Reeve corrects with a shrug. But..."
He considers.
"I have an idea for how to find out what happened. Can you bring me the least damaged one we took out?"
no subject
"One sec," he says, pushing off at an angle so he can use the walls to propel himself off of as he makes way.
"Huh, drones of some kind." He tugs at the one he'd shot, dragging it along behind him as he floats on back. "Sure did a number on the others, heh! This one's leg almost got melted off from your fancy flames." He sets the thing between them, a six-legged drone with a single 'eye' on a rotating base, a hole punched right through said eye.
