Donnie wrinkles his snout at that. Of course there's something. "I suppose I could since I'm here. I'll ask Veda for ship scans on any unusual power fluctuations. That should be manageable even with ongoing scans of the planet's surface."

"Thanks. Maybe we can finally get to the bottom of it," Radley hopes.

That's something Donnie will agree to. He hasn't experienced much by way of this weirdness himself, and one misplaced part isn't too much to go by, but he's also been around long enough to know weird things happen in general in this place away from home.

"Yeah, there's got to be a good reason for it," he nods.

[crystalmaster]

"I've been making a list of everything I know of that's happened so far, if that might help with clues," he says.

"Ooh, yes, delicious data! I'll take it," Donnie says eagerly. "Are they repetitious or only singular occurrences?"

Radley brings up the list on his communicator and prepares to send it to Donnie. "A lot of things seem to happen over and over, like things getting lost or moving from where they were," he says. "And then weirder things don't always happen as much, like seeing manifestations of people we know. It's starting to happen more than it did, though."

Which he doesn't like at all. He's already seen too many ghost Kalins.

Donnie looks less than enthusiastic about that. Repeat offenses just mean that it'll be harder to deny that something's actually going on of the earlier assumptions that Radley suggested.

"What's the frequency of such occurrences?" he asks.

[crystalmaster]

"It seems like it's always at night," Radley says. "And the longer we're here, the more stuff happens every night." He sighs. "I'd say something weird happens each night now. And it's getting worse the longer we're here."

"...but we're on a ship...so there technically isn't a 'night' so much as a 'day' save for what's defined by the ship's chronometer..." Donnie can't help but point out. Which is even worse for someone who has a terrible sleep schedule anyway, so he can't really even say if he's supposed to be awake or asleep to begin with.

"I know, I know," Radley sighs. "Let's say it feels like it's the night hours." A dry smirk. After all, spooky stuff doesn't typically happen during the day.

He's been around his friend Scotch too much.

Donnie looks unconvinced, but he shrugs. "Or maybe that's what makes it more spooky because you don't know..." he says, smirking a bit himself. Now he's just being a brat. But loss of sense of time is one of those things that makes it worse, especially if you're only assuming such purported hauntings happen during set hours.

Radley is used to brats.

"It sure doesn't help," he says, still smirking. Sobering, he adds, "Mining's like that too.... You lose all sense of day or night down there."

Ugh, what a downer. Donnie grimaces then. "That's so much worse. I think I'd prefer being stuck in space to being underground."

[crystalmaster]

"Me too, honestly," Radley says. "Give me all the spooky ghosts here or whatever, just as long as there's no Malcolm's mine to get stuck in."

He rarely talks about that experience of his from back home. It upsets him too much.

"...wait, you were a miner?" That could have been a funny pun in afterthought, but that's more Leo's department.

[crystalmaster]

"Nah. I ran one, though. So did Malcolm. It was complicated. But let's just say Malcolm wasn't the greatest businessman or human being out there."

[thepurpleone]

"Oh." No, that doesn't explain much, but Donnie doesn't want to end up hearing any awkward adult stories. "Sounds complicated," he supposes he can agree, at least to that much. Malcolm already sounds like a real winner.

[crystalmaster]

Radley wouldn't want to tell most of the story to a kid, either.

"That's a good word for it," he agrees. "But at least that's all over now."

[thepurpleone]

"Good to know, I guess." Right, what were they talking about..?

"Oh, the data. Yes, I'll go over this and if anything else unusual happens, I'd appreciate being updated," Donnie says as he pulls out his communicator.

[crystalmaster]

"Cool. I'll let you know," Radley says. "You could talk to Sephiroth on the other ship too."

"Wing guy, right. Yeah, I'll make a note," Donnie nods. "Thanks."

[crystalmaster]

"Sure," Radley says. "Good luck investigating." He starts to head off.
