[Closed Network] A Series of Direct Messages to Characters

[OOC: This is basically the equivalent of sending to character inboxes, including security level, and may move to in person conversations. The point is to unify it all so people can see what Tae is doing. If you want her to reach out lmk Here. Each character she's reaching out to has a thread below.]

[It was hard to be comfortable when the doc said she needed to talk about a recent injury with him again, but sure... he'd try. He gave a small nod, nudging the door closed behind him as he went over and sat down. Did he look nervous? He was trying to be calm... it wasn't working. It was in her office, so... did he need to take off anything? He wasn't sure. This was confusing.]

[When the door closes Tae locks it, and then she goes around turning on a few machines to create noise. Then she moves to stand closer to Keith. She breathes a sigh of relief.]

Help us catch them.

[Her next few bits of behavior baffled him for a second. He watched her move about, giving her a very concerned and curious look when she finally stopped near him.

He blinked at her statement.]

What?

[Give his brain a second to catch up with the topic shift.]

Catch... [He shifted his eyes towards the door, then around at the different machines, and... Ooohh... So this was all a cover.

He kept his voice low.] You mean the ghost guys?

I mean the ghost guys. That Billy and Stu. I've done research, thanks to Donnie. I think his evidence is very conclusive. We need to stop them.

[And get a legit confession as well. Because that's really the most important thing in her books. She needs to be certain.]

[Well, Keith didn't have any reason to doubt either Tae or Donnie, really. He didn't remember the weird encounter with Stu and Shaw on the beach, talking about Donnie's communicator. And he'd been back and forth with Leo a few times about it in discussions, in addition to Donnie. Everyone was pretty convinced it was them.]

I want to stop things from happening, too. [He frowned in thought.] You guys are really convinced it's them?

[Keith was a little wary... he'd made assumptions and been wrong before. He wanted to avoid a repeat if he could.]

Would you like to see the evidence I was provided? One of them tried to get the Agrii to shoot Donnie as well, so that definitely doesn't help their case. And Donnie found proof they were responsible for the fire.

[He nodded.] Yeah... [And, yeah, he didn't have any real reason to doubt them, but he did want to see anyway.]

[She goes to dig out the records available to her. The manilla envelope gets passed off to him.]

[Well, he wasn't planning on taking it or keeping it, but he did pull out some of the contents and poked his way through. He was most interested in the stuff about the fire, honestly, but that might just be because of his very personal involvement in what happened. It wasn't even his own injury and getting trapped in there, but it had brought up some rough memories he'd thought were dealt with.

Not so much...]

Yeah... [His expression shifted to something very serious as he looked at it. Once he'd seen enough, he put it all back in the envelope, handing it back to her.]

I'm in.

[That's about what she expected. He was an honorable young man. Tae nods and produces a piece of paper with directions to a part of the hospital that was rarely used.]

We are using the room shown here for leaving messages and having meetings. There is concerns that the culprits might be able to access some degree of network messages. Better to be safe.

[Keith looked at the directions. He'd head down there after leaving just to commit to memory.]

Good idea. [He nodded.]

So, uh... all the... test stuff? That was just to get me here?

[There was still a part of him that needed to be sure.]

Exactly. We don't know if they are monitoring the messages we send between each other. I've been told private messages are secure, but I do not know if I can trust that.

[Oof. Okay. Keith took a deep sigh of relief and then nodded.]

Yeah. Makes sense.

[He probably didn't need to admit he'd been nervous after all that.]

So, uh... when's the next, you know... appointment?

I need to meet Leo when he lands.

[She checks her watch and sighs.]

Which is a walk all the way to the Deep End.

Leo, huh? [Keith wasn't surprised.] Are we doing anything as a group before carrying this out?

Probably better not to. It makes it harder to confirm that we're up to something. That room I wrote down, we're using it for small group meetings and for passing notes.

[Keith nodded.]

Good idea. So we just discreetly let each other know in passing or something if we dropped off notes, then?

Exactly. A small personal message would be more than enough.

[Keith nodded.]

Okay.

[He stood up.]

I'll be sure to check on the regular.

[Discreetly... he wasn't one of those 'clockwork' type people, so it's not like he'd be walking in at the same time every day. That would draw attention, and he knew that much.

He headed for the door, his voice returning to normal volume as he continued with the 'medical appointment' code speak.]

Thanks for the update, Doc. I'll be sure to check in again.

[Yes, clockwork would be bad.]

Thank you. I would hate to have you not recovering properly on my watch.

[And then she turns off the noise making and sits back down in her seat to go back to work.]
