[ Shinichi hasn't been here long and he has more questions than answers right now; the most pressing was how did the Agrii figure out he who he was? If they did than no doubt someone else could to. He was quick to get the Communication Data Point with the sole goal of scrubbing his real name 'Shinichi Kudou' from the list and replacing it with 'Conan Edgawa.' ]

[ First thing's first. He needs to do a bit of damage control and figure out if he'd been fast enough to change the name before anyone saw or it. He takes a moment to think about how he'll do it and decides on the tried and true method of appearing like a lost little kid that lost his 'niichan' ]

H-hello? Um... my name's Conan and I was wondering if anyone has seen Shinichi-niichan?

[ He does his best to sound timid. Sure, an adult would likely be able to work out on their own that anyone closely related to them probably isn't around from the information and visual clues but a seven year old? Kids were optimistic, most of them, they'd hold on to hope. How each person reacted would also tell him vital information about them. He was going to need to find someone to stay with for the time being but it couldn't be someone that disliked kids and it couldn't be someone overly concerned about what he got up to. ]

[ A trill of alarm shoots through him as someone calls out the fact he's using Shinichi's communicator which is, of course, true. But he wasn't expecting anyone to realize. He was pretty sure he scrubbed that name from everything. There's one thing to do now. ]

He let me borrow it while he went to check on something. He hasn't been back in a while.

[ He really should have expected that. He'd have found it suspicious too. He wants to ask how he'd been able to tell so quickly when he's pretty sure he covered his tracks easily enough. ]

Because I'm using it. Shinichi-niichan can change it back when he gets back.

Seems like a lot of trouble to go through. I mean, you'd have to acquire the Communications data point for one, and then make Shinichi do the same just to change it back.

Unless you have something to hide, "Conan Edogawa." If that's really your name.

That does sound like a lot of effort. But I can just change it back myself.

[ He's glad this is through text otherwise he might have given away his nervousness. He's pretty confident he can talk his way out of this though it might be a little harder than he'd originally thought. ]

Curious that that's one of your main priorities, all things considered. You're definitely new in town. The general populace on Temba isn't a huge one to begin with so it's pretty easy to pick out a new face.

I suppose it would be careless of me to warn a newbie about potential threats despite their own suspicious activity.

In the past few months there have been several attempted murders- two direct attacks and one attempt by arson.

more importantly, where did it happen? Are there any witnesses? Anything that stands out about when it happened?

What are you, a cop or a lawyer? Points if you're the latter, but given you sound like you're five, I highly doubt it.

Okay, Sherlock. I'm not sure where the first one was but the second one was at the department store somewhere. Not sure if anyone's already picked up evidence but it probably got contaminated during the zombie attack anyway.

You said there were three attempts. Where was the third?

There have been stranger things than zombies around here, but that whole thing still ranks pretty high up there. Hopefully with the storms being taken care of, it means we'll have less weirdness happening.

The third attempt was up in the Green quadrant. Burnt out building. I've already collected all the evidence there.

Why not? I can only assume you don't want the attempted murders to turn into actual murders and from what you said earlier, it's likely the guilty party hasn't been caught yet, is that right?

It has already been turned in as evidence, and the next steps are being considered. Because there is no formal law here, yet people are not willing to do anything without "proper evidence."

That can't be helped. Evidence can be faked and the wrong person could get the blame. Who do I need to talk to to take a look at the evidence?

I'm not telling someone confidential information like that when they just got here and have already been acting suspicious.

TECHNICALLY I warned you, and you have no reason otherwise to be sticking your nose around murder scenes.
