Work may be consuming her life. Okay, no, it's not. But it's not like there are clubs or music venues to get to. Plus, of course, an important patient. So there Tae is, sitting in the Medical Bay. She finishes bandaging up a small burn on the side of one young Blue-Faction Agrii's hand and she nods as he goes.B. The Wonder of the Stars
Then her eyes turn back to the not-quite-glass window in to the area she had set up as the ICU. Where she watches her most important patient.
"You all just have to make things difficult," she sighs as she looks at it. "Wake up, Ny Ak. I think your people need you. And that kid too."
At least there's a good way to unwind when she's not hovering over patients. When not eating, sleeping in a room provided for her near the Medical Bay, or hovering, Tae found herself winding up here time and time again. The Green Area. Sure, she can't go deep, the Blues wouldn't let even her do that, but she could get just close enough. She could get here. Could get to where she could sit on a bench and smile up at the stars.
They were the clearest she'd ever seen.
Hearing another person approach she spoke without looking toward them.
"They're beautiful from here. You can't see them in Tokyo of course. Too much light pollution. What a wonder."

"I guess," he said. "I mean, it makes sense, yeah. But, what do you do if you leave Tokyo and don't have all that stuff nearby?"
no subject
She's a big city girl, remember?

He kind of wished he had some pictures of where he grew up to show her.
no subject
Really, Keith, you're expecting too much of her.
"And there are plenty of train stations that go to small towns. Japan is very well connected compared to the monstrosity that is America."
no subject
"I guess..." he said quietly. "Japan is a pretty tiny landmass of a country." Hey, if she could call his country a monstrosity, he could call hers tiny.

He liked his big open spaces. They were quiet and relaxing.
"Yeah..." Fine. She won this one. He'll just pout about it later.

But, since he'd done it on his own recently, he wasn't really thinking of asking for help.

She shrugs. No reason to press on his infirmity if he didn't want it. Some people need to feel independent.
no subject
"I um... yeah." Honestly, despite wanting to be independent, despite the fact that the people he normally would rely on for this sort of thing were all gone now, he'd matured enough to stop being an idiot about that sort of thing... mostly. He gave her a sheepish look, letting her take the tray so he had better balance and wouldn't drop everything.
Because that hadn't totally happened the first couple of times he tried...

Maybe it will be easier for him if he sees it not as someone being helpful, but someone trying to avoid work later on. She finds that works better. So she fills her own tray, takes his in an off hand, and nods to him to pick wherever he wants to sit.

"Well, I'd prefer not to lose my meal before I've had the chance to eat it," he said. "So... yeah." He sighed, shifting that one crutch back under his other arm. "Thanks." He made his way out. Not picky about seating right now, he went for convenience... as in the closest open table.

"I am going to go eat in the medbay. Just in case I get more patients. Have a good day."
