EVENT: RISA TO THE OCCASION

The storm has finally passed. The ghosts are gone and the area is perhaps not peaceful but at least stabilizing. As you walk around Temba, you notice there are new heroes and heroes who have disappeared. Was this the Agrii? Was it the storm? It is impossible to tell at first and, frankly, you're probably too tired to investigate.
You go to your room or the hospital for healing. You fall asleep, finally, without the sound of lightning and whispers outside. A nice, peaceful night passes and then, two. But something is different when you wake up on the second morning after the storm.
You are not where you were before.
You're on a bed. A real, soft bed with clean sheets and pillows! The room is a comfortable temperature with a tropical breeze billowing through the open window. The air is sweet and you can hear an ocean in the distance. You hear that and a ping from your comm that announces a message. Ga Re has sent a letter to you all:
He Rows,
We thank you! You try find source of storm. Next time we suck seed! Hope next time soon not. Storm this bad for all. Agrii know he rows lost. We try find why and bring back. No prom miss. Agrii know little At Rome A mash sheen. We try still.
Agrii try while Agrii all so thank he rows! We bring all to Risa. We see plan net good for re lacks. We bring all here for weeks three. Have time good! We clean. You in joy.
With out de seat,
Ga Re
You have been brought to the planet Risa. Perhaps you've heard of it, but maybe not. The planet is dedicated to comfort and relaxation. There are night clubs, restaurants, beaches, and more!
Leaving the room you'll see Risians all around you, ready to help with whatever is needed. Any food, any drink, any recreation you want. They're here to make sure you're relaxed and happy. Just don't present them with strange tales about how you're kidnapped from another universe by a race that needs help rebuilding their world. You might alarm them, if they believe you at all.
Instead, you can explore! There's Galartha, a cliff that changes and adjusts for whoever is climbing. Subterranean glowing gardens are open for you to walk through and enjoy. Risan steam pools are a perfect way to get clean and to relax after the horrors of the storm. Or maybe you want to walk through the markets. Risians are generous and will probably give you anything your heart desires, even without money. Even so, the Agrii have left money for all of you to use however you see fit. They really want to thank you for all you've done.
So go! Explore! Relax! Unless you prefer to use this time to investigate the Agrii on Federation computers. (You won't find anything, but still, you are able to research whatever else you like... as long as it appears in the Federation database.)
Or maybe you will answer a message that is left in your room? It is anonymous and says only:
We know you are not from this place. We have questions and may have answers for you as well. Meet us at these coordinates at 0200, a week from today.
--31
Who could this be? You'll have to meet them to find out.
OOC NOTES:
Welcome to Risa! Anything you can find in this wiki entry is fair game, as far as places to go, people to meet, and things to do. Similarly, any information available on Memory Alpha is information your character can look up, but nothing else.
The event will begin Monday, March 16, two days after the storm finally dies down. And on March 23, one week after arrival, keep an eye out for more information on the mysterious message, should your character choose to follow it up.
Additional odds and ends:
Pets and droids will accompany you, as well as personal items if they're on your body when you went to sleep.
There is no sign of the ships, and no shuttlecraft or transporter rooms to be found. Maybe they're just off-limits? Maybe you're not looking in the right places? The Risans will be happy to point you in a direction if you ask, but somehow, you never seem to find what you're looking for.
As always, drop questions here or contact a mod if you need anything!

Seeing that Jon here will be making a valid attempt at reading that entire database... What forms do these federation computers take? Are there only stationary desktops, or are they also present in more portable forms, such as laptops or tablets?
Also books. Are there even any around on this planet?
since it's a sci-fi pleasure planet and traditional books are hardly very sci-fi nor considered a pleasure by mostAnd a last one regarding the locals/NPCs: Are Risans susceptible to mental powers?
Or to put it more bluntly, can Jon use his compulsion ability to get
a snackthe locals to tell him stuff to add to his personal rotation of nightmares? Three weeks is a long time after all, so he's bound to get a little restless eventually. Thanks~

There are also books! These are rarer, but there seem to be a few library and coffee shop-style places where one can access real, bound books from cultures across the Star Trek Universe.
And absolutely, Jon can use his powers on the natives. Even if they notice, they'd probably happily submit to whatever he wants to do, as long as it doesn't appear to harm them in any way. They're a very generous people!

Re: QUESTIONS GO HERE!
Whether fiction books/movies, or data about medicines and the like?
no subject
Keep in mind that it will contain ONLY information available in the Star Trek universe. While in some cases this will absolutely be useful, in other cases, it might reference, say, medicine or equipment not available on Agra 10 when you get back.

Are they connected to a network to access the database, or is this all internal storage? If it's network, what form does that take? Basically, can Tony tell if there's actually a whole Federation out there, or does the 'mysteriously lost' effect happen in this case too?
And super sorry because I'm basically asking the same question again, I promise I can read, but: if Tony wakes up in Risa, he hasn't touched the data point, the only context he has for what is going on is this letter from Ga Re, right?
Sort of related to both questions honestly: even without stopping first in Temba, I'm only assuming Tony even has this comm, was that a fair assumption? Since it is new to him, does he have access to the whole history of public network posts, or just whatever comes in new? How does this comm network work and is there any reason Tony can't figure that out, too?
Sorry, I have asked for an essay.

I am checking with the other mod and will get you an answer in a few hours, I just wanted to let you know we'll get back to you sometime today!

The computers/tablets on Risa all seem to be on a planet-wide wireless/cell network that has access to a database containing all current Federation knowledge. BUT somehow, no matter how hard Tony tries, he won't be able to, say, send a message out to an orbiting starship or any other planets. Basically, it's like they've got connectivity across the planet of Risa, but not beyond the planet. So Tony could find out there is a whole Federation out there, but somehow, he can't reach them. You can come up with whatever reason you want for this - some advanced firewall, etc., that makes sense to you, as long as he can't break through it. He is certainly welcome to be frustrated by it.
And no apologies necessary at all! We realized we don't have anything explicit for players coming in during an offworld event. Tony will not have touched the data point, so no, he won't have context other than his comm (which yes, he will find on his person). He CAN indeed go back through the public network on that comm, yes, so he can read back to all the past character entries and messages from the Agrii (all past events should all be tagged event to get more ooc information that way). This comm network works exactly like a cellphone network, and it appears to currently be using whatever data transfer system Risa's computers are on for now. So, it's like they're cellphones roaming on another country's towers, if that makes any sense at all? (I'll start looking into the info we have for the network on Agra 10, and try to get you some info about that before the characters go back. If I haven't, please feel free to reply to this comment or hit up the FAQ with a reminder, and we'll let you know what Tony can figure out about the network there, too.)
If Tony does want to touch the "welcome" data point when he gets back to Temba, he's welcome to. But he won't feel the same compulsion as if he'd woken up on Temba and arrived into the game that way.
Hopefully that hits all your questions! Let us know if we forgot one or if you have more!

Also, just to clarify, it's not Ga Re they're meeting, but whoever sent the message - definitely not the Agrii! There will be a post on the 23rd (Monday) for any characters who want to go to the meetup, so keep an eye on the comm! All they'll have to do is show up at the right place and time, which is information they'll have gotten from that message, so if you want your character to participate, just tag into the post when it goes up.
Let us know if you have any more questions!

And if they do buy/get stuff here that isn't food and such, does it come back with them after the event ends?
no subject
And yes, as well! Most items your character can buy will come back with them; we'll make sure to mention what does/doesn't transfer at the end of the event, but most things - and definitely clothes - are probably safe to return with you.

Any and all drinking and partying partners are welcome.
He will at some point, flee the cities for the more quiet climes, to get some rest and quiet, too.
