[Eli appears, holding his officer's cap in his hands and looks distressed. Perched on his shoulder is Re-1, Altair's scout droid.]


For those who know Altair, he seems to have gone home.... I found Re-1 at the door by itself and I learned he hasn't been at the hospital or the power plant. With Re-1 still being here....does that mean he isn't truly gone? I would have thought if he went permanently home his scout droid would have went as well. Granted....I'm not sure how this really works. I just hope that means he might come back.

--If someone could watch out for the kitchen for me it would be appreciated. Otherwise, I may temporarily close it down. I want to check in on those at the hospital in case no one else is around who can.

[That had been his main excuse, but the other reason being the toll of loosing Thrawn and Altair had hit him hard and it was hard to concentrate on the tasks before him. Let alone gather his own thoughts. He then ended the feed.

[Vector arrives at the kitchen in exactly two hours, as promised. Eli has an interesting aura, sort of a warm yellow color, quite a contrast with the man's current mood.]

Would you like something to drink, Eli?

[thrawnsaide]

[He allowed for a small smile. He was always used to serving others. It was also strange when others offered to serve him.]

Sure that will help. How are things going for you here?

Quite well, thank you. We have made a new friend.

[Vector got to work making the two of them some tea, setting two cups of tea leaves on the table and starting the process of heating up the water.]

But we were here to speak of you, were we not, Eli?

[thrawnsaide]

Indeed we are....but I don't mind talking about you as well. We can both share information?

[Eli suggested as he watched the other prepare some tea.]

I just wasn't expecting to loose someone close so soon. Altair had been someone to help ground my emotions. And now that he's gone....I worry about loosing more.

[killikambassador]

We don't see why not. We will talk about you, and then you may ask us about what we have been up to.

[The water came to a boil, so Vector retrieved the kettle and filled their cups.]

We only met Thrawn once, but we know that he meant a lot to you. It is only natural that you are saddened by his departure, as well as Altair's.

I keep hoping that both will return...but Thrawn had been gone for some time. I wasn't expecting to see someone I was close with leave as well. I suppose it was selfish of me...

It is not selfish to want them back, and wish that they had never left. It is normal to want companionship, and to not see those you have found it with leave. We have met a few Chiss during our time in diplomacy, and we are well aware that they may become either your best friends or your worst enemy.

Before I met Thrawn....the Chiss were considered a myth. It seemed to hold true when joined the Imperial Navy and I was the only familiar with with Thrawn's species when we found him.

Interesting. In our time, the Empire has some dealings with the Chiss Ascendancy, and we have even met one or two syndics in our career.

You say that you 'found' Thrawn. How did you two meet?

[thrawnsaide]

That is indeed different.

We found him on a planet having picked up his distress signal. He caused us a few issues, my guess he was testing us. The crew couldn't understand them and looked to me for translation help. I had just recently joined the Imperial Navy at that point. I think the fact that I knew his species and was able to find a way to communicate with him sealed my fate with him.

I imagine you were quite invaluable in that regard. You also seem to have no regrets about this turn your life took, if you came to develop feelings for him.

[thrawnsaide]

I did. I basically was given no choice to end up being his translator an aide as we had to go through the Imperial Academy on Coroscant and then it followed through after we graduated. Where he went I went. It frustrated me because I had my own career path I wanted and wasn't given a choice in the matter. He had manipulated my kindness and honesty to keep me at his side.

However, while I had been upset by the idea...I was also aware how much the Imperial despise both myself and Thrawn. Thrawn being an alien and myself coming from Wildspace. They thought it funny and thought our career would wind up down the tube. I knew if I wasn't at his side, Thrawn wouldn't have gotten far. They would have have ruined his career on purpose.

It saddens us that xenophobia still persists in your time, and that you and Thrawn had to go through that. While it was wrong of him to manipulate your career like that and not give you a say in the matter, it seems that it worked out in the end. Since Thrawn made it to Grand Admiral, we can see that his career wasn't destroyed as those who hated you would have wanted.

Yeah, sadly Xenophobia still exists in large at home, especially among the military. Indeed. His promotions seemed to move at a faster pace then normal, because the Emperor had plans for him from what I could gather. But I think....that Thrawn's lime light is about to end with the Emperor. Thrawn believes he can still turn things in his favor, but I doubt it. His views aren't what the Emperor is seeking.

If we may ask, what are his views regarding the Empire? We admit, we still do not know much about the Empire of your time, nor your Emperor.

[thrawnsaide]

We're both aware that the Empire has been corrupt and getting worse. They're straying away from what they were originally set out to do which was to protect the people and help those around them. They're building this super weapon they called the Death Star that can destroy an entire planet in one shot. He and I don't support that. It's too much and deviates away from how things should be...But the Emperor is all about control and power and domination. He wants to rule in fear why else would he support such a weapon?

Thrawn believes its a waste. There are other tactics in handling situations that would persevere life. He had hoped that with such a strong military the Empire was known for that he could ally them with his people to fight against this powerful enemy in the Unknown Regions....But the Empire never well. Not with who we have as an Emperor.

So it is not so different from the Empire that we know, in many of those regards. We can see why Thrawn feels the way he does, and why you share those feelings. This Death Star sounds barbaric.

Hnn...that's a shame. I was hoping that your Empire might be better.

[killikambassador]

Sadly, Vitiate is not a benevolent ruler. Thrawn must be quite confident in himself if he believes that he can turn the Empire of your time into a force for good.

Our new friend is a Chiss. Have you met him? He goes by Aden.

[Eli grinned at the mention of the other Chiss.]

Yes, we talked about sharing recipes and such and he may be helping at the kitchen. Seems to be rough around the edge, but otherwise he seemed to be an interesting person.

Indeed he is. It seems that he knows me personally, and we are friends, but we, that is I, was taken before we met him.
