I Unwanted Attention - open

While Wesker has been keeping to himself for the most part the past weeks and even months, he hasn't been idle. He has concluded a few of his researches, made a few conclusions for himself and finished some of his projects. Or brought them close to being finished.

One of those projects is Themis. A creature with the distinct head of one of the democreatures that invaded Temba some time ago but a very much canine-like body covered in dark brown fur that turns almost white down her legs towards her paws and the end of her tail. She has grown to a notable height by now, easily surpassing a larger dog. She lacks a visible nose and eyes but instead sports a pair of keen ears that pick up the slightest sound while she tastes the air for any unknown scent with her large, bulb-like maw.

As Wesker leaves the hospital to cross past Temba's central fountain, Themis sticks dutifully to his side, her tail moving slowly with from side to side until she hears him speak up, adressing the first person he sets his eyes on.

"Consider yourself fortunate. You get to meet Themis."

II Among Coworkers - closed to Tae

Of course Wesker is aware that Dr. Takemi has made a part of the hospital her personal living space, but seeking her out there would be unprofessional. So he knocks at her chosen work area to await a response before entering.

Which is not a treatment many of those brought to this planet can expect to receive from him. Barely anyone here deserves that level of respect from him in the first place. And of those that may, most have by this time made it obvious that they are even further beneath him than he would have initially placed them.

He doesn't have to look down to know Themis is by his side, patiently waiting as always. She is the reason he is here to begin with. For the most part, at least.

Unlike her cousins? Which meant this thing was in some way associated with other things here. Which makes her frown.

"Is this related to the creatures that attacked last fall?"

She'd say the thing was cute if it wasn't half horrifying as well.

Wesker shrugs. "To a degree." Then what can be seen of his expression shifts into seriousness and he steps forward himself now, approaching Tae's workspace himself. "But speaking of last year's attack, I have something else to leave with you."

He produces three items from his pocket, all vaguely shaped like a pen, yet slightly varying in size, with one being notably larger than the other two. "I worked with Donatello to develop a series of tools to be used in cases of emergency comparable to what happened last year. Their purpose is not to actively fight back but to allow their user to escape and find a safe location or help when needed." Wesker sums up their purpose before placing all three tools on the table Tae has been working on.

That was interesting. Clearly Wesker was more than a virologist. And that leaves Tae intrigued. And confused. Perhaps seeds were being planted here that might bloom later.

But the items come out and then she's definitely focused on that. She listens and then takes out a paper to make active notes on. These don't sound like things to forget how to use in a pinch, or to use improperly.

"Thank you. I know I am far from the most competent in self protection. To have these will be a comfort. I will see about making a small pouch to carry them in."

"They are meant to be safe to use by someone not trained in any self defense, so I assume you will be fine handling them." Wesker nods and reaches into the breast pocket of his shirt to withdraw a second set. He had three of each made for a reason.

"If you remember our little... Space adventure... I worked with the security department of the space station to develop these designs. Donatello fine tuned and built them." He turns his hand around to point out the end of the devices, each having a small button there covered by a lid. "The safety can be removed with one hand, which opens up the end and allows access to the activator. The blue one creates a shield around you. An energy shield. The red one releases a dark cloud of smoke. Which means you want to activate and toss or drop it. The grey one conseals a net." Wesker points down to the larger one of the three tools. At a small arrow engraved at one end of it. "You point and fire it. The button on the side releases the net."

The basic instructions laid out, he pockets the second set again. "Any questions?"

Yes, she remembered the space station. Most of her time had been spent on working with the physicians there and getting a wealth of new tools, medicines, and other supplies. Seemed Wesker had been focused on other work.

"The latter two almost seem like ninja tools. Thank you. I'll keep them on me at all times. And I thank you for thinking of my safety. It was never an issue in Tokyo, but here... Things just keep happening."

Things sure keep happening, indeed.

"Best case scenario you will never have to use any of them." Wesker notes and begins to make his way back to the door. "In any other case I hope they at least buy you enough time to find help."

"I would love to assume a best case scenario," she agrees, but her tone says she's not going to hold her breath.

Too much has happened here since she arrived for her to believe that is in any way possible.

"I should probably keep a bag with me for emergencies. Including flat shoes."

And pants to change into in an emergency.
