Hey, so like, I have a question for everyone. Is it a sign of getting old when you remember it's your birthday but you don't remember how old you are? I mean, it doesn't really help that time's been hard to keep track of since I got here, or the Fleet, or even when I first got launched into space.

I was seventeen when everything started. Just a stupid teenager. I still feel like that sometimes, honestly. And I'm, uhhh... Crap. Something now. Somewhere in the early 20s? Keith, are you still keeping track?

[He gives a slight wave of his hand, a sheepish smile on his features.]

Okay, so early 20s isn't old. But honestly? I feel older. I think I have for a while. Anyone else get that vibe about themselves?

[Radley chuckles sympathetically.]

Oh yeah. I often felt older than my age back home. Here, I'm not really sure how old I feel ... or even am. Time really is loco here.

[the_tailor]

Loco is right. I'm sure someone's calculated it by now, but I don't even know if the calendar is 1:1 to Earth. I'm just rolling with that. I mean, then again, most calendars aren't 1:1 to Earth. Kinda Earth-centric of me.

It really can't be because of the longer days. Even if we'd try, things'd move slower here compared to Earth. I kinda try to keep track of generally what month it is, or would be on Earth, but I can't do much beyond that and I'm probably off.

[He shakes his head.]

I was never good at the math stuff. I usually left that to the smart people on my team. But I think today's maybe the rough equivalent of July 28th? Maybe? Probably not, but hey. Might as well find a reason to celebrate!

[crystalmaster]

Works for me.

[He smirks.]

You got any plans?

[He'd be happy to arrange a little party, if wanted.]

Not yet. I used to make a big hooplah outta this stuff but I guess I've hit my old man era in that I don't make as big a deal out of it. As big a deal. I used to go a little over the top sometimes.

[crystalmaster]

[Radley chuckles.]

Not to mention it's kinda hard to really go over the top here. We could have a party at the diner if you'd like. I wouldn't wanna step on Keith's toes, though. Maybe he's planning something even if you're not?

[the_tailor]

He's usually not the kind of guy to plan parties, but I'll ask him if there's any plans for the night aside from the usual. If that's the case, a diner party sounds fun!

Cool. Do you have any favorite foods or music?

[the_tailor]

Nothing that we can get here. Honestly, might as well go wild. I'm not picky.

[crystalmaster]

Okay then. Maybe pizza and drinks, and cake later on? Or I could do lasagna.

[Keith had been eating lunch nearby when Lance started broadcasting, and he looked up at the sound of his name, and then shrugged.]

It's been kinda hard to.

[It was a weird admission to make, honestly. Though, he usually knew that weird stuff almost always hit the fan around what seemed to be his own birthday the past few years since arriving in Temba.]

It's been... a while. [And he also knew that he was an additional two years older than Lance after being in the Abyss back home... on top of the several months he'd already had normally. He'd already been 18 when they left Earth.]

[the_tailor]

[They'd tried harder in the beginning to keep track of these things, but with how long they'd been, how many places they'd been... It wasn't easy.]

Yeah. A while sure is right. Sometimes I just kinda step back and look at us and... Like, who the quiznak are these two people, you know? Not in a bad way, mind you.

[tempredmental]

[And that was without thinking around the idea that they kept going back home... Keith wasn't sure if that counted for resetting their ages or not. He felt like he'd lived more than he actually had.]

Heh... [Keith's chuckle was soft, short, and a bit dry.] Yeah. I can see that. [They both had changed a lot in their own way.

He did get thoughtful for a moment, furrowing his brow.]

Do you ever... you know... think about home? [It had been a while even since their last visit at this point, too.]

Yeah, not close to 20s, yet, but I think I get the feeling older thing.

Just, so much happened, it feels like I'm a completely different person in some ways.

Pretty much. It's a feeling that's impossible to shake.

Do you mean the feeling?

[madginger]

It is. But I still feel...not an adult, at the same time.

Whatever led to the feeling.
