It's fine, I got it BeeDee...

[The screen's mostly dark at first, the voice slightly muffled. Light flares about at the edges of one corner but not enough for a good glimpse. Not until a rustle, and then the light brightens the screen briefly as the camera fights to adjust.]

-oh great!

[There's a squawk in panic right alongside of the Jedi's exclamation, both of them coming into focus as the source of the recording zooms out- or rather looks to be falling away from them- are they on the side of a building? Not one of Temba's if one can even make out that much before the tablet turns away from them for a glimpse of the rapidly passing scenery.

There's no crack or clatter though, but one does get a rather good view of the ground some several feet away, and the distance only increases as the tablet begins to go upwards again. And then the thing turns dizzyingly about again, Cal grinning sheepishly at the camera.]

It's on- go figure. Sorry about that!

[Fang looks confused, weirded-out, and possibly intrigued.]

[No, weirded out is probably a very appropriate reaction to seeing someone drop their communicator while hanging off the side of a building. Cal doesn't respond immediately on the account of having to climb up the rest of the way. Weird hobbies, these Jedi have.

When the video comes on again it catches the end of a sigh. It looks like he's lying on the ground, or at least the rooftop of somewhere. He flashes a brief grin.]

The stairs to the hotel in Sh'Ka don't go all the way up so I opted for another way.

You wanted to get up there that bad? It's not like there's much to see in the place.

Still the best view of the city. And it's quiet.

Heh. Yeah, quiet sure. The city's not much to look at, though. Or maybe I'm just burned out on it after bein' stuck there a whole month. Seems like I went over every square inch of the place.

It isn't, but I've spent more than enough time around it back when I was helping get the power running. There's still a lot that could be done here, but there's a lot to be done in Temba too. At least it's not as hot in some places as it is over there.

Okay, I'll give you that. I'd rather be there than in the heat. You got any plans for what else you wanna see done with it?

Not particularly. Rebuilding cities isn't exactly my forte. And we have enough that we need to deal with in the main city.

No kidding. That Radley guy is always wondering if rebuilding the cities is part of what we have to do to get back home. I don't know, but I hope not. I just wanna rebuild enough to make it comfortable to live here while we're stuck with it.

I don't think so. That'd be impossible to restore a city with the numbers we have. I think the most we can and should do is refurbish enough that the Agrii can learn and handle the rest once they're able to come to Temba.

Works for me. Too bad we can't really solve the mystery of why they can't. Does anybody even have any clues on where these enemy aliens even are?

They're smart enough to keep their distance, whoever they are. But anyway, who says we can't solve it?

Heh, they sure are. And we ain't had much luck so far. From what I've heard, there's few if any clues.

Clues are still clues. It'd be worse if we weren't able to find anything at all.

You're a real optimistic sort, aren't you?

[Not that he doesn't agree with that statement. He just wishes they could better figure out how to put said clues together to make more sense.]

Sure, to some extent. But without enough to go on, it's like a jigsaw puzzle that's missing pieces. You won't get the whole picture without the rest.

[Cal smiles crookedly.]

So you're saying we shouldn't bother to try finding any more pieces.

Fang rolls his eyes. "No! I'm saying we need more pieces and can't seem to find 'em." He sighs. "Seems like we've been over everything. The only thing I can come up with is getting clues from things like the Storms, but it don't seem like that's working out either." He's not sure at all what to try and would welcome new ideas.

Unfortunately for the most part we're working under very limited circumstances. Our best bet of finding anything more is whenever we're able to get out of here. The times we've been off-world have been our best opportunity to figure out new angles, or in a couple of cases, find clues specifically because the Agrii managed to track something down.

I wonder why they don't send us off-world more often then. I guess they only turn up something now and then themselves, eh? Maybe if we had access to wherever it is they're gettin' their intel, we'd be able to figure out something they missed. I wonder if they'd share if we asked.

I really have no idea what they do half the time that isn't watching us, but at least it seems there's some work being done to help us help them figure things out. I just wish they'd understand that our limitations really don't make it easy for either party.

Although it seems like they've been having their own problems the last time we left them.

Yeah. They make it a lot harder than it has to be.

Point there. Seems like they're gettin' pretty restless too. Maybe things'll come to a head.

I'm surprised that it's taken this long for some sort of conflict to arise. On the one hand it means that they're starting to be a little more proactive in what they want and figuring out what to do about things. But I don't want to get caught up between anything if they get too drastic.

They have been pretty easy-going. I don't wanna get caught up in their in-fighting either. I'm still puzzling over what that other group of us learned about aliens lookin' like these guys but actin' a lot different when we saw 'em at that space station.
