Open if you want to also give her a tough time for this
WHO: Max and Tommy Shepherd, at least
WHERE: Somewhere outside
WHAT: Dumb skateboard tricks as a way of bonding w/her future BiL | otherwise, just skateboarding and she needs a better place for that
WHEN: Sometime in July nothing else was happening
WARNINGS: Coarse language, and this really is not a smart thing to do, will add as needed
Ever since she got her skateboard back, Max has spent a lot of time outside, even if it's hot, even it's muggy after a rain, it doesn't matter. Something about it feels like home, connects her back to it. It's comfort.
Her mind zones out when she finds a long enough stretch she can just zoom by without thinking, and the terrain offers obstacles often enough, as well. It's not as smooth as flying, not as fast, not as powerful as driving, but there's a similarity to both that she keeps seeking in her board.
Of course, it's inevitable, her wheels hit a rock and she finds herself on the ground. Max laughs at the pain, used to it by now, and finding it a small thing compared to everything else when faced with everything else. She can deal with it, as long as no one else saw her wipe out. She looks up to find...well, she's not that lucky today.
"What?"

"What?"

"Need a hand up, Scarlet?"
no subject
"Yeah. I could use one," she tells Tommy, smile growing wider.
no subject
He grins and reaches out for her hand, hauling her up pretty easily.
"You know there are more recently paved parts of town. A bit smoother too. Might work out better."
no subject
"There are," Max admits, which means, yes, she considered them. "I just wanted a bit more of a challenge."
no subject
Because yes, he can and will butter her up. Though now he's smiling.
Challenge, huh? He can get that for her.
"I think we can ramp up that difficulty on smoother roads..."
no subject
She looks baffled for a moment, then her lips split into a huge grin. "Really? I am so glad I met you."
As for the challenge, Max perks up.
"What do you have in mind?" She is so ready.
no subject
But hte challenge... Well, he'd promised. A while ago.
"Well, like a friend of mine used to say: gotta go fast."
no subject
Max just peers at Tommy for a moment as her brain puts it together, then her eyes widen and her lips spread into a grin.
"Wait. Really? You're gonna to pull me on my board?" She's already thinking they're going to need a rope.
no subject
Harder to fully control the safety if he's pulling her after all.
no subject
She'll pull stuffing and padding out of abandoned buildings, if she has to.
no subject
"Alright, let's get you padded up then. But if we wanna do this in the future you need a helmet."
no subject
She gestures for Tommy to follow her back to the room she's claimed at the hotel.

She lashes pillows to herself, and finds way to pad her knees.
"I know I look ridiculous. I don't care."

"I do have a replicator use. I can make one."
no subject
Tony might even find it amusing, if Tommy was lucky. Teaching Tommy just enough physics and formulas to try and figure out was most useful to account for some fraction of his speed.
no subject
"But yes. Higher speeds." Her lips twist up into a grin at the thought. "Next time. Let me get an idea of how this works this time."
no subject
He'll try and figure it out. But not right now.
"Okay, then let's just get this mess rolling. You want to start on the board for this. Like, start moving while I have the rope around me and you have one end in your hands. Or around your middle. Yeah, around your middle is safer. I can let go without rope burn risks."
no subject
"Got it. Around my waist." She prefers that, anyway. She put tie it around her waist, and still hold on.
So Max does that, and starts moving, at a slow pace.
no subject
He doesn't need to be in charge of safety too. He's got a boyfriend to take that time up with.
"Alright," he says, jogging lightly next to the board. "You ready? If there's an emergency and I need to stop you, I'm going to do it by falling back to your side, getting my hands on your shoulders, and trying to slow us down. If it's too much of one, I'm going to tackle you off that board and wrap myself around you because I'm more resistant to road rash and broken bones. Okay?"
no subject
She can imagine that boyfriends takes up a lot of his time, too.
Max nods her head. "Got it. Hopefully we don't have to do any of that. But got it."
no subject
"Alright. Let's go then! Whoo!"
And Tommy starts to speed up, racing ahead of her. Time to get this girl going fast!
