WHO: Keith, OPEN
WHERE: Vanquish, Storm, other places?
WHAT: Keith naturally tries to do what he can to help, but then gets in trouble. Nothing new here.
WHEN: Before and just as the storm starts to move.
WARNINGS: Parental death, injury, possibly others. V:LD spoilers if you haven't seen it by now and that's important to you.
[On the ship, Keith settled in as pilot, as that was his current 'setting', he supposed, for lack of a better term. But, either way, it was what he knew and felt the most comfortable with, whether using a data point or having his augment updated. It wasn't an easy flight, for sure, but he wasn't the top pilot of his generation for nothing, after all. His natural instincts enhanced his knowledge from the data point, and he kept the ship out of trouble as they navigated around.
That said, he wasn't planning on heading back to town once he knew more about what was going on. He wanted to get to the bottom of this storm. If anyone in his crew wanted to head back to Temba, they'd either need to be able to pilot the ship themselves, or hitch a ride with another crew.
Once on the ground, the hallucinations didn't take long to kick in. At first, Keith resisted. He'd been through this a few times already between calibrations, and the Trials, not to mention that one planet that had fear-inducing mist... so Keith might have lasted longer than someone not used to it all. But, eventually, it really hit him, and he couldn't hold back anymore.]
Dad?
[Of course it would be his father. He reached out, but the other man moved away, disappearing into the storm's foggy low visibility.]
Wait!
[And Keith ran after him.
Finding him after any 'ghost' encounters, Keith had found shelter in a cave. Chasing one of those 'ghosts' down had sent him tumbling down a ridge. Without any of his protective armored suits, Keith had gotten hurt. He was trying to get his bearings back, clear his head of weird visions, and figure out if the communicators were working...]
Hello? Can anyone hear me? [Keith wasn't sure if his voice message would get through, but it was worth trying.] The storm looks like it's starting to move. [There was a slight echo to his voice, like he was inside a cave. He also sounded... upset? scared? hurt? all of the above? He was trying to keep his voice steady, which might make it hard for someone to tell outright.] We should try to warn the others back at Temba. I think it might be heading that way. Can anyone reach someone back at the town?

[He sighed, because it was fairly stupid.]

[Keith went quiet for a moment.]
Were you able to get word out? About the storm shifting?

[He pressed his lips together.]

Good. I was worried about that.

I'm not good at getting people to stop worrying about me... Sorry about that.

[Still, Keith definitely sounded amused.]
