Welcome to where time stands still
Who:Eddie Munson, OTA
What: Playing music and games
Where: Temba, Outdoors and in the Diner
When: Early to Mid June
Warnings: TBD
Go Play Outside
The weather was nicer and drier and Eddie didn't have a creepy tail anymore, so rather than being hunched over a table in the diner he's outside in the fresh air. Sort of. It's smoke-y air. And he's in the shade. And not really doing anything super physical. But it still counts, all right?
Sitting cross legged with his acoustic on his lap, Eddie's cigarette was burned down dangerously close to his lip, forgotten as he jotted down his revisions in his note book. He cursed, taking a final draw and stubbing the thing out, dropping the notebook so he could try the new lyrics out.
Go Play Inside
D&D meanwhile wasn't easy to play outside. Papers would blow away, the ground was too uneven for dice rolls. He'd tried it. It never worked.
Players were also at an all time low, and without them it was just Eddie telling a long and complicated story to no one. So he opted to try and up interest in a way he was intimately familiar with- making an ass of himself.
He climbed up on top of his table (a little more wobblily than the ones in the cafeteria, shit), and gestured wildly at the few heroes just trying to eat in peace.
"Who among you has what it takes to be an adventurer!? The guts? The passion??...Seriously, anyone? I'm actually asking here?"

HE could ask Tony how to do that. Guy knew metal after all.
"You spend almost as much time here as I do, and that's pretty impressive. So, how goes recruiting?"
no subject
Eddie shrugs and gestures at the empty table. "About as good as it usually goes," he allows.
no subject
Still, he almost feels bad for Eddie here. With a sigh he considers the empty space.
"What are you offering people as the positive outcome of this? Like, we've got a hard life in a weird way. How do you make your game something worth investing time into?"

"...a good time? An escape. A chance to be a hero in a way that doesn't involve any real world risk unless you're afraid of public speaking?"
no subject
"Some people get into heroics for the fame actually. Drive me crazy. Just trying to see what you're offering that would be better than what my nerd brother would."
no subject
"Well, no nerd brother for one, so that should be a point right there."
no subject
"Yeah, but I can imagine how he'd complain that I failed him."

"Then I'd have to admit to him to playing his nerd game. I have a cool guy high ground I need to hold to."
no subject
"You can be cool and a nerd. It takes a very skilled hand."
no subject
"In the end it's just that there's not enough going on in those games for my brain to keep focused on it. A few minutes for you can sometimes be like hours for me, days even. If I'm not busy it's sorta brutal. And I'm really damn cool without being a nerd."
He's a book nerd. Like, in the worst hidden ways. He's probably read Lord of the Rings twelve times in a single year before. He just hides it pretty well.

"I wouldn't call them low energy. But they aren't for everyone. It takes a lot of skill to keep up with everything, I get it. You're busy being the cool diner guy."
no subject
"More like the coolish farmer guy. I let people lead on the diner whenever I can. More people means more food needs to be worked on."
no subject
"Right, right, the coolish farmer guy. Even more demanding. Definitely no time for games," Eddie echoed with a smirk. "It's fine. I get it."
no subject
"Oh no, I have time for games. Something to keep my mind occupied. I'm just wondering what you're going to offer a guy as a bonus to make it worth getting disappointed frowns from his brother."

no subject
"I need tutelage in metal music."
To impress his boyfriend.
no subject
"I could swing that."
no subject
"Pretty sure we're not talking swing here, Rockstar."

"I've never been someone to back down from a challenge."
Especially since stern adult isn't going to work with Tommy being older.
no subject
"Four. We're doubling."
