Working on building the cabin meant a lot of time outdoors. Thankfully Billy was a lot more used to that than in the past. If the weather stayed nice, he might even get a tan. Less fortunately, a hidden nest of rage bugs had awoken to the pleasant weather as well, and one had ventured out and found itself a host. Billy didn’t feel the bite, and life carried on for a while. He was testier than usual, quicker to anger, and then abruptly the rage took hold.

Eyes a glow, he banished a tree, fragments breaking apart and disappearing piece by piece. However it had offended him was unknown, but it revealed his next target to him, eyes narrowing and lightening crackling at his fingertips as he sets his sights on you.

Maybe you know Billy. If you do, you know this is very out of character. Before you have long to think about it you better start dodging.

(ooc: Set before the mermaid event. There is a planned resolution/end to the thread, so anyone tagging in won’t be able to stop Billy, but they can try their best. If you want them to get hurt/not hurt please let me know and I can make that happen for you. Also feel free to encounter Billy in a different place/set up than the one started here, he'll be flying about causing havoc all over.]

Being afraid is such an understatement about how Billy feels about the Mind Flayer. His hands are gripping the blanket into tight fists, holding onto that as he tries to not lash out at Rogers.

"Yeah. He gets me, kind of." Doesn’t ask probing questions or push where others do and maybe shouldn’t. He’s about to say more when Tommy appears in a portal. Just the quick appearance is enough to make Billy jump with wide eyes until he registers the speedster.

"Tommy—" He’s about to ask if the guy is okay, but he’s clearly doing better than Billy at least. Bruises and something bleeding. Dirty with ripped clothes, but he was alive.

"He'll be fine. Bandaged him up, and he was a great patient. The ointment's gonna stop being as effective soon for his burns, so if that happens, make sure to rub more on him before putting more bandages on, I don't want 'em sticking to his blisters. Wash with cool water, but not cold."

He figures Tommy's gonna have to be the defacto nurse. It's cute that he calls Billy sunshine.

"Anyone else hurt?" he asks, concerned.

God he is so tired, and shaken. His brother just...

"I think Soldier isn't going to get away with William not healing them both. But me and him are out of commission for a bit," Tommy admits. "Think I wanna make it a habit to not perform what amounts to tiny surgery on a fighting target using micro explosions. I'm wiped. Think I won't be able to stand for a while either. Thanks, Cap. For helping."

He looks to his boyfriend, or as up at him as he can from being sprawled on the floor.

"I'll try on the nursing. Didn't swap points yet. Won't have the energy to bother for a while."

He's going to need to call in food delivery services. Probably from the shops for a massive amount of protein paste.

"We dealt with the bug. Soldier kept me from getting crushed. Dude fights like a dream, I swear. Who taught him those high level taunting tactics? Fuck, I'm jealous."

Because Soldier hadn't been effectively repeatedly tased.

Hearing Tommy so tired and just so damn exhausted makes Billy want to move. Maybe to comfort? Or find Kaplan and beat the shit out of him for this mess. He looks at Rogers. "I can’t do cold water anyways." Or hot for that matter. Not in a shower at least.

With some pained noises, Billy tries to scoot closer to the edge because it’s easier to see who he’s talking to rather than the tuft of white hair peeking into his vision. Seeing him makes the blond feel a little better at least.

And back to Rogers. "Anything else you need to check or can I cover back up?"

"HYDRA did," Steve responds. "He's got moves that we didn't exactly learn in the army." He doesn't think he's ever revealed to Billy that he and Bucky used to go way back but, here it is. Well, if Tommy didn't already tell him.

"You can put your shirt back on," he says. "Or I can help you with it." Since Tommy's too tired right now. "I think we've got some IVs if that'll help you get your energy back, Tommy." He's concerned about that kid, but he's relieved that the rest of them are okay.

"Aw, shirt, no," Tommy groans in his best Hawkeye impression. Why does his boyfriend have to put a shirt on? Worst plan. But for now he just sits there. He's just... Fuck.

"Thank you, Steve. That would help with hydration at least."

He's not okay. There is nothing in Tommy that is okay right now. Once he has energy, he's going to find a chair and sleep with his head on this damn bed.

Billy doesn't seem to hear the remark about the shirt, but did know his boyfriend was upset about something. Sounded upset at least. He watches Rogers with a confused look. "...'We'? Like you and Soldier were in the army together?"

He's never pried into Soldier's story, knowing what it was like to have dark shit in your history. Some people here knew the dark parts of it already, thanks to some situation last year. "I'll just use the blanket." He could use another one, but it's not important right this second.

"Go get the IVs. Tommy and I'll stay here." It wasn't like either of them were fit for moving around anyways. Maybe in a few hours they would be. "After that, he can share this, unless there's another bed somewhere."

"He doesn't remember that part so well," Steve responds. "Doesn't remember most things about the past. We're both a hundred, so, you tend to lose some memories," Steve says, because he doesn't feel like going into the part where Bucky was brainwashed. Not really his story to tell without Soldier.

He gets Tommy an IV and some water, and helps him hook it up. "We've got other beds, but you two can share if you want. No rules against that, and if we've got anyone else getting bit by bugs, we might need the space."

"Rogers is a hero from World War II. This dude has literally punched Nazis," Tommy provides. Come on, you've got to be proud of a guy who has done that when you're checking as many boxes the powers that be in that day would have hated as Tommy did. He's proud of it.

"Brave of you to think I can get up there right now, Sunshine," Tommy admits, because he's definitely weak. But he wants to be up there. Wants to curl around his boyfriend. To be a barrier between him and the world.

Doesn’t remember very well. That could be a blessing and a curse. Then Billy is looking between Rogers and Shepherd. Oh. The pieces link together and the blond gets it.

"Oh. Time travel. What was that movie you mentioned? Back to the Future?" That made more sense.

He frowns down at Tommy. "Bold of you to think I wouldn’t tell Rogers just to haul your skinny ass up here." The floor can’t be comfortable. Or warm.

"Uh, something like that," Steve responds, only he's just glad they're dropping the whole conversation about Bucky. "Tommy, do you want me to lift you up into the bed?" he asks. He won't be here to help him out of it later, he's got other things to take care of elsewhere, but, they could maybe use the call button.

Hopefully he won't be busy with something else, but considering the bugs didn't go extinct but lay dormant and came back? Yeah...

"Something like that," Tommy agrees. If Steve isn't saying more, then it's not really his business to bring it up.

Though he looks embarrassed to have Steve and billy suggest he can't handle it himself. God, what the hell. He groans.

"Yes. Please. I'm so sorry."

He's so embarrassed.

Billy didn't mean to suggest it, but he wants Tommy comfortable as he recovers. And since he's not available to pick the speedster up from the floor, he's gotta tell someone else to do it. At least he's scooted to the side to make room for his boyfriend.

"There's room up here if he wants to share this bed." Which Billy wouldn't mind. He wants company he likes close to him, and Tommy fit that billy entirely. "Don't be sorry, you deserve to be comfortable while you recover too."

"I'll keep off my arm, too. So I don't damage the blisters."
