Chrissy likes the rain, honestly. So, it's not odd to find her out in these short bursts of rain sprinkles lying on the ground and letting the rain fall on her face and the rest of her (she can change into dry clothes later, after all), or even just walking in it, or if she's feeling extra silly — trying to catch raindrops on her tongue the way people do with snowflakes. Despite the damp ground, she also stretches out her limbs with a few cheerleading moves on occasion too.

Overall, it feels oddly refreshing, but she chalks that up to the fact they've been away from here for a while. So, you know, feel free to join in on her fun out here, or ask her what the hell she's doing.

hotel

Spending most of the last few months in ships or on spaceports and the like, Chrissy has missed the room she'd claimed in the hotel when she arrived here. And, while they were on the spaceport, she'd bought (among other things) some cute things for her room that she's slowly putting where it needs to go. Fairy lights get hung up, wall stickers that look like ivy vines get stuck on, an inflatable chair that is both very pink and very glittery gets set up in a corner.

She's doing all this with her door open and a playlist of her favorite 80's music playing (not loud enough to be a real disturbance to people, though). Anyone is welcome to stop in and chat, or wonder about her decoration tastes.

Perhaps unsurprisingly, Leo is a big fan of rain, too. And now that Donnie seems... well enough not to need a 24/7 babysitter, he's out in it, enjoying a walk with the rain dripping on his face.

He has to admit, he's not expecting to come across a girl spread out on the ground, letting herself get soaked.

He leans into her sightline, eyeridge raised. He's taken off his mask because it's the only one he has and he doesn't want it to get too soggy, so all she'll see is green turtle face and his big, red stripes.

"Let me guess, you're secretly some kind of plant."

All the cool kids (and not-kids) love rain, this is a fact.

This is the kind of comment she can easily roll with without missing a beat. So, she jokes back with a quick, “I am secretly a plant. Who doesn't want water, sunshine, and other people commenting that you're interesting and-or pretty?”

Leo can’t help but laugh at that.

“When you put it like that, I want to be a plant, too!”

So saying, he’ll flop down next to her, though since it’s awkward to lay on his shell he lays on his stomach instead, head pillowed on his arms.

“Personally, I think I’m one of the pretty ones.”

"You know," he says, walking by. "We've got a mess with water you can drink. You don't have to catch the rain." Yep, he thinks she's doing this to conserve water. Sorry Chrissy.

Perks of being one of the Hawkinsites (except for Billy), is that you were always pretty close to the other people. People you knew. People you cared about.

People you might not get to see when you get home again.

And the music brings Robin out of her own room, just a bit further down the hall. Comes closer and pops her head into the doorway.

"Hey th- woah you've been getting things nice in here."

"No rule says you can't be both." She laughs lightly in response, and nods her head (as it brushes against the ground, yes).

"How's things in the life of a coolest, fastest, strongest, best looking turtle, so far?" That's him, right? A reference to his quote from his first post after showing up.

She laughs some at that as she stops what she's doing to look at him. "We do. But this is fun. Like people do with snowflakes?" A pause. "I got bored and like the rain." She explains.

"Oh, hey!" She greets, stopping for a moment and offering a bright smile. "I am, yeah, it's .. it needed it. Putting some fun in here; too depressing otherwise. If I'd really been thinking, I would have tried to get my hands on some paint but that's probably not a huge issue to get here." That can be something for future Chrissy to consider.

Paint, huh? Robin thinks about it.

"I think I've seen some murals around. Seem painted by people like us. Maybe we can find out where they got the paint from and you can paint your room."

Because there's no reason not to go further.

Oh wow, she remembered that! He laughs at it.

“Less cool than they could be,” he admits. He turns his head so he can better look at her. “You must be Chrissy the cheerleader! Nice to meet you for real.”

And, you know, lay on the ground together.

He thinks he gets it. "Well, I guess there aren't snowflakes here." He turns his face up towards the rain. "I do like it when it rains. It smells nicer."

She thinks for a second, then nods.

“Seems like a good idea to start with. I assume you're in for helping? You don't have to, of course, but totally welcome to.” It would be a fun project either way.

“Smells nicer, peaceful in general, sounds nice..” She could go on, but doesn't. Instead, she asks, “You've been okay lately?” It's a good idea to check on people after events as of late.

“That's me! And, good to meet you in person too, now we can really start plotting shenanigans. Or something.” They can brainstorm this later, probably. “Anyway, how do you mean less cool than they could be?” She assumes, maybe wrongly, that it was just because of all the Stuff recently.

"Better than I was on the planet," he admits. "How about you?" He gives her a little smile. He's really starting to care about all these damn teens.

“Better is good! Obviously. All the adventure was a fun change of pace most of the time, even if I did feel wayyyy in over my head a lot, but I was starting to miss it here, so I am glad to be back. I feel like I need some dull back in my life.” She'll see how long that one lasts.

"Dull sounds great right about now," he says. "Do kinda miss the food though." But he'll also just eat anything.

“Are you one of those people who visits places just for the food?” She's slightly teasing.

"Of course I'm in to help. I'm a really good helper. Promise. Except when I trip."

But she tripped up sometimes, you know? But for now she smiles and steps in.

"What can I do?"

"Of course I am," he says proudly. "There's a lot of things that I'd like to try still."

The music lures Eddie, even if it's not his genre, it's at least familiar. When it brings him to Chrissy's door it makes sense, and he leans in the door way to give an appreciative look over her decorating.

"It's very you," he compliments diplomatically, giving a small laugh as they obviously have very different tastes. "Need any help?"

“Hah, nice. Happy to have a partner in crime.”

He’d shake her hand, but that’s awkward from their current position.

“Ah, you know… It’s just been crazy, that’s all.” Leo shrugs. “Since we made it back to the ship, things have been…” He blows a raspberry and gives a thumbs down.

“But no reason to mope about it, right?”

During one of the times when she's flat out on the ground, Shaw spots her from a distance, and comes to what she feels is the most logical conclusion in this situation: someone is either injured or dead.

"Hey!" she calls out, breaking away from the doorway she's been sheltering under and jogging towards Chrissy's prone form. "Are you conscious? Can you hear me?"

Max, heavily, appreciates Chrissy's tastes in music. Usually, in the hotel, thanks to the thin walls, she walks around with her headphones on, but when she gets close to Chrissy's room, she's able to stop her walkman, for a change. She slips off the headphones and wanders in to take a look.

"This is pretty sweet," Max comments as she physically whirls around. "I should spend more time in your room." Granted, this also gives her ideas for her own.

“No shame in that. When and where are you originally from, anyway?” Sometimes it's hard to keep track.
