Did you know you could still get kidnapped within getting kidnapped? [ Max might sound sarcastic about that, but not entirely displeased. ] Thought that would be overkill, but it happened anyway. I was in a good mood about it, too - so it must've been nice - but then I come back to this mess. [ Look, the tension on the Agrii ship has on her edge because it reminds her of her home life before her step-dad took off, so she's not comfortable right now, and trying to stay out of snappish territory over it. ]

I would ask for an explanation, but I don't think I want to hear the answer right now. [ This is when her annoyance and displeasure enter her voice. ]

If someone could let me know when the adults want to act like adults, I'd appreciate it. [ She means the adult Agrii, not her fellow He Rows. She does care about this sort of thing, though, so Max will look into it and get details at some point, but she's annoyed her pleasant feeling from whatever happened on her unplanned vacation is already fading. ]

If other pilots wanna give me a rundown on what we're doing, let's discuss that, instead of this.

In the meantime, Hawkins, check-in. [ She sounds commanding and expectant on this request. ] Means you, too, Billy Hargrove.

You get kidnapped and you were in a good mood about it?

[Noct is confused, but maybe her captors treated her well? And then is she talking about the adults here? Well Iris was known from time to time to have an attitude and she definitely had a temper at times. And that was when his head caught up with him. Oh.]

As far as the captors here, good luck with reason. No one can seem to get a straight answer.

[ Max definitely has an attitude, and while she has a confused, 'are you dumb?' tone to her voice when she speaks, she comes back a little gentler and less sarcastic, too. ]

I think the Agrii took me some place nice, but I don't remember any of it. At all. When I got back, I was just...relaxed and almost happy. Until I got to the Agrii ship, at least. I was gone for a month and come back to this.

And yeah, I noticed. I'm giving up on getting answers and just trying to help the kids. I know what this is like.

So you've been here before.

[He sighed.]

I'd say I'm sorry, but none of us have any control over it unfortunately.

[Still, kids shouldn't be here no matter what. That was why he was always trying to hang out with Omega. The Agrii should have a rule about that. Still, he had to hand it to her and nodded.]

That's a good attitude you have, helping others out. Takes a strong person to do that.

Yeah. It's okay. I don't expect any of us to be able to do anything. It does seem like the Agrii are pushing us out of this one.

[ She sounds - mildly - taken aback. ] I guess I just never thought of it that way, before. I don't want to deal with whatever they're arguing about - not yet - and it's something to distract with.

[Noctis shook his head. He hated his own answer and he bit the anger back.]

Helping others out is definitely a distraction and it can help gain perspective. It also helps to show whoever you're helping that they're not alone.

[His many conversations with Tommy had proven all of those things to him at one point or another.]

[ Max's response sounds a bit softer, like she knows exactly how it feels to feel alone, then have someone reach out and help. ]

I guess, I just didn't think of that. But you're right. [ Speaking of distraction. ]

So, what are you doing right now? You need any help with anything?

[fatedsacrifice]

[Her reply gained a small smile. Smart kid for such a horrible place. But he decided he would start with an idea he had.]

I could always use a hand with fishing. Or unless you know a little bit about cooking it afterwards. I'm willing to share.

[Noctis didn't need a hand at all, but it was about the company at this point.]

I don't know how to do either. Fishing is kind of boring, isn't it?

But I can keep you company. Where do you fish at?

[Noct had to laugh.]

It can be if you're not the one doing it. But I'm down at the beach. I take it you know where those green lobster like things are, right?

Nope. No idea. But you can show me when I get down there.

I do know where the beach is.
