Steve has been trying to get in touch with the Agrii for days now without any luck. So far it's mostly just been hanging out by the water. And a few of them can really hold their breath a long time, it seems. They seem uneasy if he swims too far, so he sticks by the shallower bit of the pool for now.

If nothing else, the lush greenery is a nice change of scenery, and some days there's all this bountiful delicious food, such that he hasn't had better since before arriving here.

So, one day, after fruitlessly searching around by himself and not finding any better leads, he invites a few fellow He-Rows over for what appears to be a pool party. It's open to anyone who happens to make it through the thick botany, and he's definitely trying to encourage the younger Agrii to come play with them. Food and drink are just from the mess hall, and the games are simple ones like a hand-drawn deck of cards, and sitting on each other's shoulders trying to knock off your opponent.

If anyone wants to play that game with him, he'd definitely make a better root than pusher - don't worry, he'll be sure to keep his balance, so long as your character wants to keep playing.

Partway through he gets tasked with going back to get more ice or snacks or something, so feel free to bump into him then or in his yellow speedo (that he most definitely did not pick out himself) and towel, gathering supplies. You'll definitely score an invitation if you ask.

Then, when the 'party' starts winding down, Steve's maybe a little disappointed in not having made much progress, though he's sure a few of the younger Agrii might be coming around to them, so it's not entirely a fruitless endeavor. But he's gotten his hands on a piece of paper and graphite, and he might even ask your character to stand still for a second, as they look really nice under this foliage, and it'll just take a few minutes, if they don't mind.

Leo shoots Steve a grin. “Well, it’s not like I disagree with you. I mean, who could dislike me?” He poses for a moment with his hand under his chin.

“Buuut it’s not really my call, at the end of the day. I’m not the only one who would be exposed, after all.”

"Your brothers, right?" He shakes his head. "I'm sorry. Look - if we were back home, you'd be welcome at our facilities anytime." He doesn't understand these sorts of prejudices, honestly.

[faceguy]

“Yeah.” He nods. “My brothers and my dad.”

He swims a little closer, looking curious.

“What kind of facilities do you have?”

"Training ones, mostly, but they house a whole bunch of people with special powers." So that might be of interest to Leo.

[faceguy]

“Oh, that sounds kind of cool!” He laughs. “Well, not so much the training part… my big bro would love that, though. He’s all about training.”

"Oh yeah?" Steve asks. "Is that Donnie?" Listen, he doesn't know about the brothers.

[faceguy]

The face Leo makes is nakedly disgusted.

“…I’m going to let that go because we don’t know each other well. But seriously, what makes you think he’s older than me!? Just because he can do math? Big whoop.”

Leo rolls his eyes.

“My big bro’s name is Raph.”

"No, I - I honestly can't tell who's older," he says, sorry to have offended. "Raph... Leo, Raph and Donnie. Those are interesting names." He doesn't make the connection yet, but if Leo told him their full names...

[faceguy]

“It’s fine, our dad couldn’t, either. We’re the same age.”

Donnie’s been here for a year, but then Leo was home for the better part of a year himself, so it evens back out!

“Yeah, Raphael, Leonardo, Donatello, Michelangelo. Dad decided to go with themed names.”

Oh. Wow. "Really into the Italian Renaissance, huh?" He smiles. And then neglects to say something stupid which is that Michelangelo is his favorite of the artists. "Must've been nice having three brothers. And one with you here."

[faceguy]

“Apparently he had,” Leo makes air quotes, “‘a phase’ and got really into Renaissance art for awhile.” Leo shrugs. “I guess it worked out. I like being Leo.”

As for his brothers… “Well, sometimes I want to kill them.” He laughs. “But yeah… We’ve never been alone. I don’t know how Dee made it a year here.”

"Well, we're all in the same boat here. I like to think he had a little help. But. It's nice he has you." This isn't the first time Steve's been displaced, so, he gets it.

[faceguy]

Leo grins at that, and though it looks cocky, there's an underlying sincerity to it.

"Yeah, well, someone has to make sure he eats lunch and doesn't blow up half the ship."

Though if Raph were here, he would probably say...

"Uh, guess I should thank you guys, too. For looking out for him."

"Can't claim that I did much of anything," Steve replies. "But - he's a good kid. You both are." So he doesn't mind, he means. Or, wouldn't. The problem is that there's so many kids here - the Agrii really should be more discerning.

"Are all inventor geniuses the same, or are the two of us just lucky?" he asks as an addendum, because listen, if he's afraid of anyone blowing up the ship while simultaneously forgetting to eat, it's one person.

Being called a good kid makes Leo feel way too happy, and he’s going to fight to keep that off his face. He’s cool and aloof! He doesn’t care about the validation of adults!

At least Steve offers him a convenient out.

“At this point I think it just comes with the territory.”

Every inventor genius he’s met is just Like That.

Too bad, Leo, you're a good kid. And Steve wants you to know that. "Let me know if you ever need to peel him away from the screen. I think I'm pretty good at that." He's also physically rather strong, which is why.

Mostly, he just thinks it's nice that they get to be here together. Two brothers. Steve's is here, too - he considers Bucky his brother. But. It's kinda not the same, so, he can channel his happiness for the turtles instead.

"Heh, sure. If I need the help I'll look you up."

Leo thinks he's pretty good at it, too (usually aggravating Donnie until he wants to strangle Leo works pretty well), but it wouldn't hurt to make someone else the bad guy here and there.

"Perfect," he says, and then pats Leo on the arm. "How about we get back to the party?" he suggests.

“Sure. I can hang out a little longer.”

It’s not like he was doing anything anyway!
