AnytimeAfter getting to the Village, York decides to...explore. He's been around for a bit, but hadn't actually met any of the aliens that decided to keep them here. There was a cabin he had picked out (it looked like Reeve and Richie beat him to it, which was fine), so he set down a couple of supplies he brought in case of emergency, and went out to explore.
First he wandered the village, being shoo'd away from the barn by the taller aliens. Huffing, he simply glared at them, made a couple of attempts to see around them, before wandering off. Exploring the gingerbread house was futile - he couldn't eat after all. The chocolate coins looked interesting enough, and the android was tempted to take some with. But he held off on doing so, exiting the building and heading off to explore the Agrii's ship.
It was far larger than their own, reminding York of that old television sitcom, Star Trek. Interesting. He heads in to get a look around. There's doors locked to him, and as much as the android wants to intrude, he thinks things over. He had made the mistake in breaking and entering once.
Nah, better to leave those doors alone after his experience with the library.

January 10thThis isn't his first rodeo, as the humans say, with New Tick things. Different setting, same festival it seemed. He remembers hanging out with Miss Lark with the glownies last year. With the mysterious barn finally open, York heads inside. What else is there for him to do?
Well, breaking and entering, but he's going to be a good android and... not do that. Not to the aliens that're being this hospitable. There's a face made at the wrapping paper, but he supposes it could be worse. Everything could be decked out in glitter, too. For the moment, he mingles with others, looking over the mysterious shapes of different presents. There are small ones, and then big ones. There's one that's got a shape like a woman? Or something? York watches the Agrii pick that one up to carry it out.
Huh. Wonder what that was all about.
Another that looked like a surfboard, and another one that York doesn't get a chance to examine before another alien carries that one out too. Hm. Maybe there are presents for the aliens mixed in with all of the he rows.
York finally stumbles upon two small ones with his name labeled on top. "Great. Hope its something useful this time." He finds a seat at a table to work the wrapping paper off (with probably more glitter somewhere). Teal eyes widen in surprise.
Inside is a rather nice suit, one York is certain Reeve would approve of, but also? Laid folded on top is a tie the android is 95% certain that Richie picked out. He barks out a laugh at the absurdity of it before moving onto the second gift. A small sewing kit, like one he would expect Miss Lark to use. York supposes it's to help maintain the suit and... tie.

AnytimeThe castle was very pretty for certain. He hadn't seen anything like it, even living in a snowy place like Detroit and New York City. So York follows the path up to it, admiring the ice castle from just outside. Unfortunately, that means there's glitter all over his shoes and the lower half of his pants. Damn it. Well that was going to be apart of him now. Though York does take a moment to make sure his synthskin is covering as much of the shell as possible, not wanting any of that bullshit in his hardware.
It makes him think of a movie, back home, a 'classic' at his timepoint, but the android shrugs the information away. It's not relevant. Instead he heads inside, noting that he needs to warm up his system, or at least get out of the cold to keep from freezing.
Quietly, York explores. He's got his hands in his hoodie pouch, taking in the features of the castle. It's impressive to say the least, made completely out of ice. Ice caverns are a thing, but to sculpt something of this size is no small feat. York wants to get his hands on the blueprints of this place.
To no one specific, York starts to speak. Except...
"Do you think there are blueeeeprints?" comes the sung out line and York stops short, eyes big. What the? A quick check of his software - no, nothing wrong. He was supposed to talk, not sing... "Bluuuuuuepriiiiiints," he sings again before clamping a hand over his mouth.
What the hell?!

Singing
"Knowing the Agrii, probably not," he sings back, and then definitely makes a WTH look. He can't stop himself from singing!

"I didn't even know," what kind of tune was this even? York can't stop despite trying to, "that I had programming in me to sing, but everything seems correeeeect. Is this unintentional for you as weeeeell?"

Oh this was getting worse. At least he hadn't started dancing yet. He better not.

He shakes his head, and pulls the neck of his hoodie away to see his LED glowing golden. Apparently his system is confused by this, too.

And then there's this odd strip of fabric, that doesn't make any sense at all. What are you supposed to do with it?
"What's that?" Link asks, as he comes over and peers at the tie, a faintly puzzled expression on his face.
York is teaching Link ALL the things lately!
"What's what?" Then his programming catches up and notes what Link is looking at. "Oh. It's a tie."
A pause, then he clarifies because if Link doesn't know about Halloween or winter holidays, a tie is probably out as well.
"An accessory, mostly for males to wear with suits and buttoned-up collars. I think Richie put this tie here, it looks like his style."
That he is!
Not that Link hasn't worn things with 'not much coverage' before.
Still, he makes a guess. "Like a bandana?"
no subject
He picks up the tie to loop it around his neck. Fingers work deftly at the fabric, like they've done this numerous times, until it sits in a simple Winsor knot at the base of his throat. "Like this."
He undoes it and holds it out for Link. "Nothing this kind of fancy where you're from I guess?"
no subject
Then he takes the tie, and attempts to mimic York's actions to tie it around his own neck. But since he has no idea whatsoever how to tie a Windsor knot, it ends up looking rather...inelegant.
He looks down. Tugs on the end of it. Things about how easily something like this around your neck could be used to strangle you. "Dangerous," he observes. Although not in a way that suggests he thinks this is a reason not to wear it.
I am making this shit up about ties...
He gives a thoughtful tilt of his head. "Want me to show you how to tie it?"
Haha WELL I know nothing about ties, so I won't know what's made up!
Sure - why not?
The facts will get you tied up anyways :U
Like a weird Halloween Santa Claus. York keeps that part to himself. For now he only wants to try explaining how to tie a tie.
The android starts explaining it, guiding Link's hands with his own on where to tuck and pull and other such techniques to get it into place. After some hiccups and a restart or two, the tie sits neatly against Link's neck with the dinosaurs down against his chest.
"Not bad. Quick learner I think."
I c wat you did there!

Of course Reeve's timing is such that he arrives when York has finished opening his presents. Well, the suit. It makes him smile. Especially since, not ten minutes ago, he managed to open one that looks nearly identical to it. IT was not one of his more often used suits, but there were times when he felt it best to go with a suit and turtle neck and this had often been the one he had chosen for such things.
"I fear we will match. Except for the tie. I could not be paid to wear such a thing."
Re: CSS Style
That was for the better, with how things were at home.
"This tie though. It looks like some shit Richie would wear. Like a dad picking his son out something to wear when mom isn't looking." He smirks at the thought and holds it up for Reeve. "You sure you don't want to wear something dino-myte?"
no subject
Though the tie and the pun earns a grimace from Reeve. No. He does not want that.
"I shall pass."
no subject
"What did the Agrii get you? More suits? Probably some more patience to deal with Richie?"
no subject
Clearly Reeve wasn't entirely certain on that front. He reaches out to straighten the knot for York.
"A picture from home, and a suit that matches this one."
no subject
"This is a nice suit. I guess the Agrii thought we'd look smart in matching outfits. Like some sort of family unit now." He holds up the suit to look at it better. He'd have to iron it at some point to get some of the wrinkles out, but it would look nice on him. "Think the aliens got my size right?"
no subject
Wait, what?
"Family unit?" he says, his voice shocked.
no subject
Which is impressive given the very charged first meeting they had. "The Agrii probably seeing that the four of us are like a little family unit. So I have a suit that matches yours and a tie that Richie would've picked out. Like humans when they wear matching pajama sets on holiday mornings or some bullshit like that. But ours is all stylish, which automatically makes it better."
