I. Is Hair That Interesting?

Winter was never Tae's favorite part of the year. It was cold, there was snow, she couldn't wear the sort of clothes she preferred. Throw in this whole candy land sort of motif meant she was less than impressed. But hey, there was only so much a person could do about the weather. In this case it was about wearing layers she found in the dressers here, but it was something, right?

Still, there was something here that was making her uncomfortable. Which was rather annoying with every time it happened. Like here and now, while Tae was in the mess hall place, trying to get herself a nice replicated traditional breakfast with rice and miso soup and a well made egg. Maybe she should have expected it.

She feels a touch, perhaps. No, not a touch. Something ghostly brushing her hair. Which could only mean one thing.

"Don't," she hisses, turning to glare up at an Agrii. One that clearly doesn't comprehend and is intrigued by her hair. "That isn't polite."

Someone might want to step in before this turns into something bad.

II. Red Envelopes | Closed to He Rows currently 20 and younger

It's not quite the right time of the year, but it feels right. Feels right in a way that has Tae in quite the specific mood. Sure it takes her some time to find the resources she needs amid all of the crafts (and the light begging of the Agrii, claiming she's making decorations), but she does manage it. There was a pointed lack of ink and brushes and other things, so she'd just have to live with what she could manage though.

But with the work done there she was moving through Noth, hands tucked away into the pockets of her new/old coat. And, whenever she sees someone young she lifts a hand free and waves them over.

"Come here, I've got a gift for you."

III. Equipment Envy

Of course Tae found the Medical Wing of the Agrii ship almost immediately after they had access to the ship. Where else was a doctor going to end up? And oh the noise she makes when she walks in and sees it. Anyone happening to be present might think the woman needs to consider being appropriate where minors might show up.

"Who do I have to bribe to just steal all of this?" she asks as she looks into the surgical suite.

And then there's the diagnosis beds. Tae's hands roll over one and she looks like she wants to take it home and wrap it up in blankets and say sweet nothings to it.

"Stealing things is wrong," Tae mumbles to herself under her breath. Dammit. She has to keep back from this. But she wants it so much.

Make herself... smaller. There's a whole physics problem there that Tae might just explode over. Better not to think about it. Accept that super heroes are a thing and move on. After all, the Phantom Thieves change hearts, don't they?

"And where would we find this Jan?"

"Oh, she'll be around. I think... well actually, I haven't heard from her lately." But also she got turned into a small child, so perhaps when Steve checks in on her, it won't be the solution he's looking for.

Tae really didn't want to think about the child fiascos. She didn't want to get fond of people while they were brats.

"We'll have to look into that. Because I want one of these. Badly."

"Yeah, of course. I'll talk to her." As soon as he finds her, but by that time, he'll also be a tiny lad of just eight. Sorry, Tae.

It's alright. She'll probably talk Link into helping her anyway. Or he'll talk her.

"I don't suppose you'll help me test this thing out..."

"I could," he says. "Guess I'm used to being a lab rat. But what do you need me to do?" he asks.

That is not something she likes to hear, even though she does make use of test subjects on the regular.

"You could lie down on it."

Steve shrugs and then goes to do so. "Okay. What now?" he asks, curiously.

"Now I figure out how this works and do my magic," she says with a smile. "If at any point you have a problem with that, darling, please tell me."

She moves to a display panel near it to try and figure out how to activate the thing.

"I'll let you know. You want me to give you a running update on how it feels, or do you wanna just let the results speak for themselves?" he asks. See? He's trying to help.

"I want the results, but I need a subject to scan. I will delete the data after so the Agrii don't have it."

Which was not to say they didn't already have full He Row medical records, but Tae doubted it.

Then he stays quiet as Tae runs her tests - he'll trust her to delete the data at the end, if only to avoid the Agrii knowing they were here.

Of course she'll delete the data, more for his privacy than anything. She gets the systems up and runs scans and just needs a moment to process these.

"This has to be wrong. Your muscle density is beyond what it should be. There's something wrong in these systems."

"No, that seems right," Steve answers. "What else does it say?" He gives one of his arm muscles a poke to check and yep, that sounds about right. "Haven't had a physical in a few years. Sorry doc." He says that humorously.

Seems right? She gives him quite a look.

"Bone density is increased too. And your neural responsiveness time is... fast."

What are you made of, Steve?

"I've also got a photographic memory," he says, smiling. "Should I get out of the machine?" he asks. He can demonstrate to her that the readings aren't incorrect!

"Yes please," she says as she considers the data she's received before starting to wipe it. How weird.

He gets up and then he stretches. "How about you pick something really heavy, and I demonstrate to you that the reading is correct? But - after you finish deleting."

Of course she's working on the deleting already.

"And what would possibly be considered 'very heavy' here?

He looks at the machine while she deletes things in it, and picks the whole thing up. It seems that the shape of it seems to encumber him, but the actual weight of the thing isn't a problem at all.

What? Tae is left staring. Please, what are you doing sir?

"That's... very impressive Mister Rogers."

He gets the feeling she's not all that impressed. "I'm just saying, the reading isn't wrong." He does put it down, however.

Oh, she's definitely impressed. She's just good at deadpan.

"Clearly not. How much do you work out to maintain this level?"

[pursuitofcappiness]

"Once or twice a day. I prefer cardio in the morning." That's why he's always running around on the roof of the rec center. "But technically it's all to expend the energy. I don't actually need to exercise."

Doesn't need to exercise? She truly looks at him, concerned.

"What was done to you? This can't be natural. I could see signs of old damage, likely from recovery from disease."
