[Open] Yet Another Clinic Set-Up

WHO: Tae Takemi, Open
WHERE: Glitter Food Clinic
WHAT: Tae is not amused by another set up project
WHEN: Shortly after boarding ships
WARNINGS: Possible cursing

Cue clinic number four. Tae sat down in one of the spinning chairs in the medical facility and contemplated the space around her. Because how could she not? And while she does the woman glares at the space around her. Missing vital technology. Missing tools for diagnosis and compounding. Missing surgical gear and even most of the basic first aid supplies.

"A year of work to get what we could up and running, and now you do this to me," she says, voice sharp as she regards the air. "Bad enough that you kidnap me for your plans and dump me on a planet with insufficient medical structure, but you've had me cart my supplies all over and now this."

Tae spins in the chair, arms wide, taking in the space around her. A space that wasn't even as set up as her emergency clinics through their various crises. This absolutely lacking space.

"And you didn't even let me bring my tools or gear. That's a serious lack of foresight. Do you not truly have medical professionals at this point? Do you not understand the barrier you've created?"

Clearly someone was far from pleased with the whole situation she's found herself in.

"If I'd wanted to be a space explorer I'd have gone to school for that!"

The ship was luxuriously expansive, but not as big as a whole city, and some people were very predictable. Luckily, Tae was among the easiest to track down, as soon as Tony figured out where they were meant to go play doctor with pretend bandaids for their real gaping wounds. Hopefully, the wounds were a little ways off yet. By his estimation, finding Tae was the most challenging part of the task that Jan had set him to, and he was minutes away from extracting himself from this game to crawl back into the dark comfort of his bed and sweating out the rest of this ache on his own.

"Give me your shoes," he greeted, welcoming himself in to the clinic and onto the chair that faced Tae, rolling himself up close with his hands already out impatiently.

It was not Tae's fault that she had been introduced to this game so late, well after Tony regretted agreeing to play. She just happened to be the one to bear the brunt of Tony's restless sigh, and his frown deepening as he followed her gaze down to the boots. Those were not what he expected. They definitely weren't what Jan was promised. "Where are your shoes?" he amended, though his hands were still out, because the requirements were not any more specific than Tae's shoes, and the ones on her feet must have counted.

Not prepared for Tae to be so vividly direct, Tony had to blink in disbelief as he processed the suggestion and had to admit, "Now I am." He had come in here to be humiliated in a very different way, he had to focus, maybe talk his way through it. "You won't need these in here. We'll get you some proper shoes, you know, for space travel. I learned about them in space explorer school, it's actually optimal to be six inches taller and insanely hot." He didn't expect that flirting his way through this challenge was going to get him very far while he had to keep flexing his hands to stop them from shaking, but maybe she liked her men pale and pathetic. A trade, on the other hand, was an easy win. "Come on, give me those ones."

The snare that Tae had him in was already tight, so maybe thrashing around with a, "Who said I needed them?" was only making it worse. "You need better shoes, I'm here to help." Maybe it wouldn't look so much like thrashing if he rolled his chair around a little closer, where he was perpendicular to her instead and gave an inquisitive tap to her knee to request permission to trace his fingers down her calf to her ankle and lift her leg across his instead. "I don't see what I'm getting out of this. Some unflattering snow boots, that I didn't even know were here. That's ridiculous."

[personal profile] in_extremis 2023-12-09 11:01 pm (UTC)(link)
That wasn't a very convincing excuse, but Tony wasn't going to turn down an easy way out and gladly ran with, "They might be, gotta check. He's not very tall. Surprisingly petite." And he wasn't going to waste too much time now that he had his prize practically in hand already to work unlacing the propped up boot before Tae changed her mind, and encouraging her acquiescence with a distracting massage along her calf with his free hand.

Tony was under the impression that he was selling a convincing performance of being perfectly functional, and keeping his hands busy felt like he was keeping the tremors under control so he didn't linger to tease Tae a second time when he tugged the first boot off, quickly pulling her other leg up as well. "I had a slightly different timeline in mind," he admitted, because tomorrow seemed about a thousand years away and he did not want to think about surviving that long right now, and he only needed the shoes for a moment. Despite this, he invited, "Gives you plenty of time to work up the appropriate punishment."

"I don't think I could force you to do anything," Tony replied. At least she seemed amendable, if that became part of the game.

Tony hummed his confirmation, patting Tae's knee to free him with his prize, and to quickly escape before she could wonder any further what he could possibly want with them.

"Tae," he replied immediately. While he did take the candy, he asked, "What is it that you think I'm doing with these? Don't answer that. I'm not putting them in my mouth."

York had been making rounds, trying to get a good map laid out in his head for this new ship. It was far more vast than The Bishop ever was, and York had wasted no time in claiming one of the rooms close to Reeve and Richie. Now he had to map out the rest of the ship.

Instead, he gets distracted by some serious griping coming from the clinic and goes in to investigate. "You seem pleased about these arrangements," he remarks, tone dripping with sarcasm. He lifts a hand to idly rub his fingertips over one of the jawline scars before shoving it into his hoodie pocket. "Pretty sure we could probably replicate enough supplies for you to outfit this place, too."
buildingitsir: (you have my attention)

"Sorry. My sarcasm tones don't work sometimes." He goes to lean against the table her chair is near and folds his arms across his chest.

"I guess knowing how you have it in the hospital gives you a good blueprint in getting this one set up? Maybe I could help. Build what you need if you need it, or at least design it and get someone to build it. Or help you tote supplies here n' shit. Can't carry much of heavy stuff, but I can help with bins and stuff."
buildingitsir: (over shoulder look; wait what)

[personal profile] buildingitsir 2023-12-16 03:41 am (UTC)(link)
"You don't look mad yet. Not enough to be in a mental hospital or anything." That was a joke, but York isn't certain it'll come across as one to her.

"Anyways, you could keep stuff here that is low maintenance. Stuff that isn't fluids, and then see if the replicators on here can make the fluids you need?" He gestures unhelpfully because he's never tried to help anyone in medical. "And if the aliens told us their plans, that wouldn't keep any of us on our damn toes now, would it?"

A pause.

"I don't think they planned the volcano though."

"I think the therapist would get trauma listening to everyone else's trauma," he points out. Not that he knew if a therapist would take an android seriously anyways. He seems to become more attentive at the mention of Markus.

"You met Markus? He's from my world. I think he was sent back recently." Made sense. Detroit and the deviants needed him more than Temba apparently did. "He's good at being organized. He was our leader and damn good at it. I know he at least got out of Jericho okay which is all that ultimately mattered I think."

He looks around at the gathered items. "We should make you a little cart with wheels. To help move things between the ship and the clinic as you need them if you gotta move shit around."

"Trauma loop. Better to not put a therapist through that." Did androids even have therapists? Something to look into if he was ever sent home he thinks.

"Yeah, our roads are shit. You'd have to get something like a tank would use or maybe find a way to invent a hovercart. I think the tank tracks would be better with the state of the roads. Unless somehow the Agrii magically fund us with the supplies and tools we need to fix them."

Although now his mind is working over if there was a possibility of doing hover technology or tank treads

"I haven't asked them shit," York shrugs. While he's gotten used to the humans in this world and let his defense down some what, the android doesn't feel comfortable to start talking to the aliens. Mostly because he has no idea what they would do with him and his system.

"I can see if there's anyone that has access to making something like tank treads at some point. It can't be that hard to make, because they're smaller than what one would need for an actual tank. How big would you need a cart like that? A few basket-style containers, fashioned in a three-tiered system like a bookcase?" It's clear his programming is latching onto something like this. A small project that would help someone else, if only he could get the supplies for it.

York leans, thinking more and building it in his mind. Then wonders where he can get his hands on paper and pencil to work out blueprints.

"A larger cart then. Sturdy tank-style treads to help cover the terrain of the city from point A to point B. Definitely have to make sure the gears move smoothly to help ease the pushing of all that weight." Depending on how heavy the equipment was that Tae was trying to move after all.

It's starting to come together in his mind at least. "Hooks definitely on its side and possibly some of the baskets/containers." He looks at Tae. "I can try to draw up blueprints, but I'm not going to guarantee anything. I'll try at least."

"I'll have to get my hands on some paper and pencil, and I can see if I can draw something out. Containers and hooks. I'll try to keep you in the loop for how it looks and stuff as I go. Design process and all that shit."

But York definitely has thoughts. He'll have to try and draw something up and then go out on the network to see if someone could help him actually create it. "Do you need any help now? If not, I'll get out of your hair."
