I. A New Bridge | The Bridge
The space is a lot more expansive than what he'd known before, and Gladio smiles as he takes a stroll around the bridge. His fingers brush over display panels, run over seats, glide on slick metal.II. Something Like Camping | Forest Near The Beach
"Nice," he says to himself as he sits down in one of the pilot chairs, stretching himself out like he owns the place. In a way he supposes he does, for now. Him and Keith, pilots together. Seems a good choice given how often they'd fought together while traveling, hunting, or just spent time together otherwise.
For now, though, he heard a noise indicating someone at the door to the bridge. Maybe they were with one of the datapoints that allowed access and the door would slide open to Gladio sitting there, grinning to himself. Or perhaps he gets the chance to go full on sci-fi TV show and press a key on the arm even as he says 'Enter'.
Listen, he wasn't a nerd in quite the way Noctis or Prompto were, but he was really enjoying this.
Does he have his own room here? Yes. Is Gladio likely to use it when he's going to stay with Noctis? No. Really, it just seems right when working with that knowledge to strip the bedding from the bed in the room he isn't going to use and head right into the forested area.III. There's No Drinks Here | 'The Deep End'
Not an hour later there he is, under a rope and cloth tent, stretched out on his back, book in hand, reading.
If he's going to be stuck here, he's going to catch up on what meager offering of books he can get. How strange he must look is of no concern to him, of course. This was just what he wanted to be doing.
"What the hell?"
Gladio has been searching the place for fifteen minutes. This is clearly Cayde's bar, meant to be. But what is there? Nothing. Not even a red fruit drink dispenser.
"We're trapped on here for however long because the music makes it hard to leave, and there's not even any drinks?"
no subject
And also seemed physically impossible.
no subject
He'll have to settle for just listening to the book, when Gladio gets around to it.
"Not as big?" he adds.
no subject
And he wasn't really as impressed by that (though he was impressed) as he was by this. This place had its own biome!
no subject
Or maybe even bigger. But the massive mechanical beasts were the only thing of enough scale that Link could possibly compare them too.
no subject
"Did your Divine Beasts end up big enough to farm in."
no subject
"...Maybe small farms," he says.
no subject
And clearly had a pirate history or mythos about them.
no subject
And he still wants to see more.
“…Want to go look?” He asks after a moment. Even though Gladio has a book. But maybe he’d like to explore with Link?
no subject
"Sounds like fun. What have you seen so far?"
no subject
In fact, it's mainly this open area that he's explored at all. The ship part of the ship, though, he hasn't gotten to yet at all.
no subject
Wait.
"Beach?" he says, shocked. No, he didn't expect that. "Would you show me?"
no subject
It won't take too long, because the beach is found at the end of the forest. Complete with bonfire and purple sand.
Link gestures towards it. See? Behold, the beach.
no subject
"Wonder why they thought this was so important to include? Not that I don't like it. It's a delight I think."
no subject
"But no fish," he points out. This Link had already discovered earlier, after hurling himself into the water to look. "Or crabs."
Which meant there wasn't much they could roast on that bonfire, unfortunately.
no subject
"No fish? Damn. That's going to make Noct a bit disappointed," Gladio notes. Though if it's a swimming area, perhaps it's better not to have hooks and lures around. They'll have to adapt.
"Maybe we can bring some crabs on? Space crab sounds tasty."
no subject
But he's already mentally making a note, adding the task to his list. Get crabs, bring them on the ship. He can do that.
no subject
"Wonder what the crabs eat."
God they are going to infest this ship and make it dangerous aren't they?
no subject
They might need to figure that out, before they go and bring a bunch of them on board. Fortunately, Link knows where to go for answers.
"Zelda will know."
no subject
"Then you should ask her. I'll see if the dictionary on the devices has any more information, but it rarely does."
no subject
"...Keep looking?" he suggests instead. Link's seen the beach; it's not new to him.
