I am reasonably confident that the demonportals are closed. I can't find any more, anyway. If you get mauled, it will only be by Omega.

the scrambling you're thinking of is deviation
jumping the tracks from programming only
to simulating emotions and expressing them
the scrambling i'm talking about is probably more along the lines of like
virus and malware and shit that will actually hurt me

i have a feeling i'd really have to upset omega for her to maul me
i'd probably deserve that one

When we went to this planet a while back, the place was miraculous, the whole thing was a city, every surface covered then built up endlessly into the atmosphere. Most of that work was done by droids, like BD-1--you've met, right? They're all a little like him, designed with a specific purpose, but with personalities, with feelings. That was a feature. I don't think it was because it made them more relatable. I think it was because it made them easier to control. A personality that's been beaten down into demoralization is more suggestible than a bot with complex programming.

On Earth--my Earth--a synthetic that could experience emotions is the miracle. A thousand huge brains have made it their life's work since we had the concept of automation. Most of the time, it was already there, we just didn't know how to recognize it.

depending on where we're at
and i'm supposed to build
and i did because i built our miami home that cyberlife destroyed
we didn't have feelings and the only facet of a personality we have is 'be helpful to mom and dad'

I guess most of the time I'm relying on everybody else to make me look good, too.

It's an uphill battle. Not everyone is so open to the idea. They'll celebrate heroes like the Human Torch, then call their synthetic neighbour a toy. Most people don't have them in their houses, though. It is hard to imagine living with an android and not seeing any humanity in them.

he created universal parts to help repair cyberlife androids for the public
so they wouldn't have to go to repair stores specific for them
it made it more affordable and easier access
so there were little stark shops around for people to go to
a direct competitor that figured cyberlife droids out

no they're not really open to it
they got swat teams to raid the deviant hideout
some deviants hiding in there were already damaged
markus was changing their view apparently
slowly but surely
but when all you know from humans is being treated like garbage
it's difficult to break out of not treating them like it back
