Oct 10th - ~14th

Someone probably should have told Steve Rogers to stay put, but it's Steve Rogers, so he's doing no such thing. Unfortunately for everyone around him, he's lost his serum, which means that he's currently swimming in his shirt and had to cut a new hole in his belt just to hold his pants up, because he doesn't have time or resources to go to Alien Target to get a new set of clothes.

If you're lucky, then you'll meet him at the hospital, where he'll be tending whatever wounds you have, extremely carefully.

And if you're unlucky, then he's out on town trying to gather supplies or find food to bring back, or even just to check in on other people. It seems that no one remembered to remind Steve that he's no longer resistant to whatever's in the air, so he doesn't travel long distances. And whether he ducks inside wherever you are just to breathe a little easier, or whether he's outside looking like whatever he's carrying is bigger than he is, well. He's struggling a little.

And if you're really, really unlucky, Steve might be in the middle of engaging with one of the creatures. What he lacks in combat ability, he has in spades in actual learned skill, so even though he's having a real hard time with it because there's no power in his kicks and he'd absolutely get bodied by a large rodent, he's still out here trying. He's just in need of an assist.

Oct 15th, by Alien Target Gate

Somehow, luckily, Steve's managed to stay alive, and he's run into a couple uh, familiar-adjacent faces. After he parts ways with them, he heads on over to the department store in order to find the gate so that he can help shut it down. With his acrobatic skill, resistance to poison, and newly-acquired energy shield, he's much-better equipped than he had been to run around town.

He makes it late enough to see people gathering around it, though the creatures keep coming out so it's not like it's hard to miss. "Behind you!" he shouts as he tosses his shield at one of the demo dogs, knocking it to the side and catching his giant laser frisbee.

Steve shakes his head. "Incoming alien army. Space whales. Killer robots that replicate. Powerful mages trying to vy for a spot on a throne. Doesn't matter where the fight is, I'm there."

Okay, that's... not AS strange.

"I mean, who doesn't have killer robots and powerful mages that want the throne," Gladio says with a shrug. "Been there, done that. Going to save the day anyway."

Yes, that's what he means. Been there, done that, going to fight them off. "If I slow you down, you can always just leave."

"Not going to leave you," he rolls his eyes. "I am not that sort of man. I'm a bodyguard."

"But you're not mine. Not if you don't wanna be." Of course Gladio is just like Steve in the way that he wouldn't abandon anyone like that. But. Pot, kettle.

"Right now, you're putting yourself at severe risk, so I don't have much of a choice," Gladio said honestly.

"Guess not," he says. "Would just be better if I could have a weapon."

[ziedrich_bearer]

"No offense meant man, you don't seem like you could handle any weapons I'd have available. Better to not weigh you down with something when you might need to run."

And that's just the best choice he can give.

"Fair," he says, because Gladio's weapons look heavy. And Steve can't really lift heavy at the moment. He'd prefer something... aluminum. But since that's not available, his fists will have to do.

"Alright, let's get going. Tell me exactly where we need to get."

BEcause he wants to make the most efficient path.

"Closest place to us right now is the department store," he says. No idea who's hunkered down there, but they're getting a package delivery. "They're going to be spread out all over town."

[ziedrich_bearer]

"I can't see why anyone would be there, but we can head over then. Come on. I know the way."

And he's is content to take the lead.

Excellent. Steve's content to follow, for now, staying close by, just in case something happens.

"Does this happen a lot here?" he asks.

[ziedrich_bearer]

"Exactly like this? No. But we did fight giants a few months back. Link and I go hunting sometimes but it's never anything this threatening. There was a plant invasion in the past too."

It's been a whole hell of a lot of stuff for them lately.

"We'll hope this particular problem is solvable. The other storms haven't been full of hungry monsters"

"Oh, well, that seems on par the course," he says, as they keep walking. Thankfully, they're so spread out that it seems that the monsters are content to ignore them... for now.

"Once this is all over, I can come hunting with you." He'll show up and maybe Gladio will be surprised that he's grown over a foot. "Trust me, I won't slow you down then."

Gladio doesn't know what to say to that. This guy is too small for it, and clearly doesn't have a weapon. And that's going to be a whole problem.

"I don't know man. I'll figure it out later."
