[Open] It's a Winter Wonderland
WHO: Teddy, OTA
WHERE: Winter Planet
WHAT: Teddy's arrival, snowball fights, investigating the food.
WHEN: During the event, late January.
WARNINGS: N/A
a; arrival
Teddy has set a new record on how many times he can get kidnapped by aliens in a twenty-four hour period. Although, the Agrii are the first aliens who have abducted him that have neither tried to kill him nor pressure him into becoming their king. And...he really doesn't know what to do with that. In fact, he barely has time to come to terms with what he's even doing on their planet before being shipped off to another one.
This new planet looks like something out of a Christmas movie, if the movie was set during the Christmas off season. If it wasn't for the other ships lined up just outside the village, he would think the place has been abandoned. Still, it looks far more welcoming than the idea of standing out in the snow does. Teddy is not dressed for winter, clad only in a pair of dark pants and a close-fitting sleeveless top. And while he does feel the icy bite of the cold air against his skin, he doesn't appear to feel it as deeply as one would expect. If that doesn't do enough to make him stand out, he's also carrying a rather large sword with some kind of runic language carved into it.
He's a bit on guard as he enters the village, not sure what kind of reception to expect. He's still half-expecting someone or something to attack.
b; snow ball fight
Growing up in New York City has taught Teddy all of the numerous ways in which to take advantage of snow. From snow angels to snowmen he's skilled in the art of transforming snow into whatever he wants it to be. But there's nothing he enjoys better than rolling up the snow into a tightly packed ball and launching it at some poor unsuspecting target.
Not hard, of course. He would never use his real strength for something like that. But his aim is impeccable, especially when his target isn't expecting it. A snow ball glides through the air, bumping into a shoulder, or against a back, and crumbling apart into smaller clumps of snow. Teddy, grinning, can easily be spotted as the culprit.
"Why don't we put this snow to some good use?"
c; this food is questionable
Despite his few misadventures in space, Teddy has never been exposed to protein gel before. And the longer he's around it the more sure he is that he's never wanted to be exposed to it. But here he is. Staring mutinously at a somewhat cleverly disguised piece of protein gel in the shape of a steak.
"Has anyone tried asking what this stuff is made out of? 'Protein' is not a good enough answer. They have the power to abduct us from our worlds but can't manage to bring any real food along for the ride?"

Tommy's already crossed the space between them and is making himself a bowl. See, he's learned to live with the horrid experience.
no subject
He's moved past being surprised and upset over their circumstances and moved straight into acceptance and sarcasm. It's their way.
But he does follow Tommy's instructions, grabbing a bowl from the cabinet and pouring the chili into it.
no subject
Vitamins and things like that. The Agrii aren't really set up to handle people like him. But he takes his bowl to the microwave to let him heat it up.
no subject
Then he frowns and glares at Tommy in accusation. "You mean you were going to watch me eat this instead of telling me Billy could get me some real food?"
no subject
no subject
Of course he doesn't want Billy to weaken himself just so he can eat something besides space food. "Anything else you want to share?" He's gotten some basics from Billy, additional information that fills in the holes of what he learned when he arrived on that other planet. But everyone has a different idea about what information is important. Tommy is another point of view.
no subject
"Uh, let's see. Wanda and Vision? They're here from another world, so they don't know our this. The Agrii mean well but they don't get us. And I can't blow things up."
no subject
"And do they know? About...you and Billy?" Easily the most important question that he needs answered. "Have you been trying to blow things up?" Like, he had to have gained this knowledge somehow.
no subject
"Yeah. We... Vision knew pretty instantly. I accidentally drank this thing that was like truth serum and got all bitter over our Vision. He wanted to know why and I couldn't help but tell him. Wanda we told recently."
As for the rest, he sighs, fingers carding through his hair. The microwave dings and he gets his food out and selects a table to sit at.
"I've tried. It could be useful here. But I can only accelerate things to a point. Cracks, no booms."
no subject
Telling him this does nothing to lessen his suspicions about the food and drink that they've been provided. Now he has to worry about potentially being dosed with truth serum? Actually, this sounds like the exact type of thing that could happen back home too. Hmmm...
"It sounds like he took it pretty well? What about Wanda?"
He follows Tommy and the food over to the table, slipping into the seat across from him.
"You think it's a part of the whole power dampening thing?"
no subject
As for the power dampening, he nods. And frowns. He hates it, so much.
"I don't know if I can run for as long or as fast. Haven't had enough food to try. But there's this cave near Temba, and it charged my powers up a lot so I COULD make things explode. Small things. But my hair glowed, like Billy glows when he magics."
no subject
Well, even if she could he's sure those powers would be under the dampener like everyone else's. So not as useful as they would otherwise be. If she had them.
He grabs up a fork and begins digging into the bowl, pausing only for a moment before bringing the chili to his mouth. It's...hmm...not that bad actually. He takes a second bite.
"Wait. This cave charged up your abilities and made you glow? I don't like the sound of that. Sounds like a catch-22 situation."
no subject
That's the best he understands of her powers anyway. Tommy stirs his food with his spoon. Still bad texture,b ut this one is his favorite because the taste mostly makes up for it.
"Made Billy just spark off a lot too. I couldn't help but talk WAY too fast. Was throwing off my time sense, which is normally so accurate."
He has enough problems staying at normal people speed as it were.
"But the trailing light thing was cool. I wrote by running over the wate.r"
no subject
He can't imagine dealing with a Tommy that operates at a higher speed, even if he knows that the boy could be faster than his default if he didn't care about anyone being able to keep up.
"How long did it last? Were there any lasting side-effects?"
no subject
So yeah, it had been bad. But the telepathy was good too because she didn't pry, like other telepaths. Otherwise she would have known who they were. But she didn't. He settles down and focuses on his food more.
"Not as long as it could be. And I just... missed it. Feeling like I could be me."
And now he can't. He's constrained by lack of calories.
no subject
"Right...well, I don't know if Billy has told you yet, but I'm from the future." Not that he's changed overly much in the past two years for it to be noticeable. But he figures Tommy should know if he doesn't already.
His expression shifts into one of concern as he listens to Tommy speak. The lack of resources in this place must be taking a toll on his abilities, with or without the added factor of the power dampener.
"Hey. You're still you, Speed. This is just a bit of a rough patch. But we'll figure it out." He doesn't know how yet. But it doesn't hurt to be optimistic.
no subject
But there you have it. Life is what it is.
"I've learned how to farm. Sorta like it."
no subject
One of these days they're going to have to talk about all this built up anger Tommy holds about them forming a team without him. It's not as if they had done it on purpose. But it'll have to hold for later.
The spoon freezes halfway to Teddy's mouth and he looks up in surprise. "You farm? What have you grown?"
no subject
"Mostly Agrii foods. Cynanas and cumatoes and bacon mushrooms and all sorts of things."
