Who: Wanda Maximoff & you!
What: Exploration time
When: The first week
Where: Greenhouse, hospital, and the forest outskirts
Warnings: N/A, will edit if needed

I. The Greenhouse
[Close to dinnertime you might come across Wanda standing in the greenhouse staring thoughtfully out over the vegetation.]

We could make a soup, I think. If we had a fire and something to cook it in...it would be better than just eating raw vegetables.

II. The Hospital
[The canisters are already ruptured by the time she gets there. Hospitals have always made her uncomfortable, but it's better to take stock of what they have and what they might need now, before anyone needs it. And it would be good to have some idea of how necessary certain aspects of her powers might be and where she might try to explore and push them.

Except while she's exploring the halls, she starts feeling warm and light-headed, and a little bit claustrophobic. She knows whoever worked here is long gone, but the hallways feel cramped and sinister and finally Wanda decides that she can't take it anymore. She turns to start making her way out (going out a window would be quickest but she feels off) and the world lurches sideways. Wanda stumbles into the wall to brace herself and leans her forehead against it. It's nice and cool. She'd stay here for a while if it didn't feel so threatening...

...but it does, and so Wanda's stumbling down the hallways with a hand braced on the wall to steady herself. Just a little farther...]

III. closed to Vision
[They walk hand in hand, Thistle chirping happily at the chance to explore a more familiar environment. Wanda's hair is braided now, looped through itself to hold, and while she misses the feel of the wind (or her lover's fingers) in it, it's not worth how much trouble it would be to detangle it later.

She leans up to kiss Vision's cheek and squeezes his hand.]

Over there? [There's a small clearing around a large tree, and it looks like a nice place to have a talk. Wanda trots ahead to beat him to it and settles back against it between the roots.] Come here, love.

[He's been keeping her as comfortable as he possibly could, and it's time to return the favor.]

IV. wild card
[You know what to do.]

[ It's easy for her to make light of it now, and write the story off like something that happened to someone else. Her own memory of it is still patchy, though that's due more to the time between then and now, and not the way her mind got messed with - thankfully - but the way Wanda says terrible takes her back too easily, and the steadiness of her eyes falters for just a moment, just enough to know there's a crack, before she slides that confidence right back on like a mask.] It was a long time ago. And ... between you and me, I like to think I got a pretty good deal out of it, in the end.

Yeah ... yeah, that should work. There's probably some scrap we can use around here somewhere. D'you need, like -- a forge or anything? Hammer? [She's guessing. Fabrication is not really her thing.]

Huh. [A pleased smile stretches her lips slowly, and she watches, fascinated, as Wanda works the metal into shape.]

Alright, my turn to ask. You weren't caught up in an exploding experimental engine too, were you? [Because there's something about the shape and feeling of that energy that's familiar, even though it's highly unlikely their circumstances are exactly the same.]

[Carol sucks in a low breath, her throat suddenly tight, and focuses intently on Wanda's hands - on the movements she makes and the way the red energy curls around her fingers, manipulating the state of the metal into a real bowl. She can tell, now, that it's not a big deal, in the long run. It's gotta be the equivalent of Carol - who can smash through starships - lending her powers to heat up soup. She turns one hand over, igniting it gently.

All the places she'd been, all the planets she'd seen, all the people she'd met - no one had matched her. No one had been able to. No one else she'd encountered had been infused with this kind of raw power. And that made it so easy to think that she'd been entirely alone, at the top of some upper echelon of power, standing singularly against anyone else who might try to use her and stalwartly defending those who needed her help most. She never thought that what happened to her could happen again, while she was off-planet.]

... The Tesseract? [Because she knows that one was on Earth. She left it there on purpose. Fury had one job.]

[She's not expecting that reaction. Maybe she should have. Fortunately, Wanda catches the bowl before Carol has to step in.]

That's what powered the engine that blew up around me. There was an energy wave, it knocked me out, and then ... [A little shrug, as if to say it's not a big deal, even though it clearly is. She does not mention the six years spent with the Kree. Not yet.] I left it with Nick Fury before going off world in '95.

[Yeah, Carol gets the feeling that Fury turned into the kind of guy who didn't tell anyone about much of anything. She's only sorry she didn't come back sooner, or he might not have been. And SHIELD might not have been so fucked in the end.]

Weapons? What kind of -

[Like you need to ask.]

- you mean you. Right? They ...

[Her expression turns a little harder.] Who's "they?" Not SHIELD. Right?

Not that bad. It ... wasn't intentional. It was an accident.

[But it's probably how they figured out that the Stones can be used to empower people. Whoever did this to Wanda was probably trying to make another her.]

I got taken offworld right after it happened. Fought for the Kree military. Not ... really by choice. [The less said about that, the better, as far as she's concerned.] But hey - I figured it all out in the end. Looks like you did too. [Her smile's soft but proud; she's all for anyone who's able to take back their own power, especially if they can turn it against the people who used them.]

... What do we wanna put in this soup?
