Link had been nearby, of course. Not following Zelda as closely as he had before the Calamity - but still in her orbit. Close enough to help, if she needed it.

So when he hears Zelda shriek, he immediately stops trying to catch this one lizard to run towards her.

He skids to a stop, takes in the scene, and...she's fine. No one's attacking her. Except maybe with splashes, which doesn't count. And hey, there's Sonic.

"...Hi," Link says, before bending down to pick up Zelda's communicator, and hold it out for her.
