Arrival Part 2 [Network Video]
[Now that Connor's been here for a minute and met a few people, he decides to try his device again.]
My name is Connor. I'm a recent arrival. I've met some of you already, but to those of you I haven't- hello.
[Short and to the point.]

it's okay! (I looked for two hours to find Yorks and it wasn't even in one of HIS threads!)
Geez, simmer the fuck down, Connor. You could always take me to some tech person and have me fucking reset for all I know.
[Then the device flickers as the video feed finally turns on to show York from his end.]
Don't be so emotional about it, Connor. Even if you did try to turn me into someone, I suspect I've got a few humans on my side that would keep you from doing that anyways.
[He sits back, and it's evident he's in a hotel room.]
Your time point before here - were you still on the Jericho or after? Because I got brought here right after... its fate.
🤣glad it's not just me!
[Other androids don't seem to realize that he was just like them before he deviated- he was following orders programmed into him. That his own orders were very different and unique is beside the point; he was as trapped by them as they had been.
His eyes widen at the sudden switch to video. He huffs a derisive, humorless laugh.]
Isn't that what you want from me? Proof that I can feel emotions?
[He rolls his eyes.]
I have better things to do with my time.
[He shifts on his feet, but his overall demeanor remains the same, arms still folded across his chest and face set in a neutral expression.]
I deviated on the Jericho. Markus shot me in the church. I was ordered to shoot Markus while he was giving his victory speech. [He closes his eyes, scrubbing a hand down his face before speaking from behind his fingers. He's tired.]
I deviated again, in the crowd.
Yeah I'm a dunce about MY OWN OC
[He gives his own eye roll, like Connor is a nuisance more than anything.]
Well, whatever it's worth, Connor. I'm glad you're on the deviants' side at least. All it takes is one or two androids to talk and the rest of us knew about you pretty quick.
We can be dunces together
[This introduction is going swimmingly!]
And yet no one bothered to talk about how I deviated? Why does this not surprise me?
[Nope, no bitterness in his tone at all.]
aww yis [high fives]
[York does sound like he's getting distressed, a blue tint of light on his chin changing to gold with flickers of red.]
👍
His eyes flick to the light on York's chin, following it down to his chest. Interesting, but not something he's going to ask about. York doesn't seem eager to continue the conversation and it's not any of Connor's business.]
<3
[Well, second. York had done a good job at least of isolating himself not long after arriving, that's for certain.]
There's not a lot of androids here, three including me. So if you need something, just pipe the fuck up. Don't go sulking or something. It won't do anything except make shit worse. I'm sorry I was a dick and all that.
💕
[Connor is more outgoing than that, at least in part thanks to his social integration suite of programming. He could avoid York and still have an active social life here.]
So you, Markus, and me? I wonder why they chose to take us all from the same place. Surely there are other androids in the multiverse. [He's musing aloud, don't mind him.]
What? Oh. Yes, thank you. Maybe I will. For what it might be worth to you, I'm sorry too. For everything.

[York looks uncomfortable thinking about that. But he pushes the thoughts away and sighs just for the presentation of it, instead of actually needing to.]
I have no idea why they chose me. I'm nothing like you or Markus. They could've brought someone else instead of me here. At least you've got detective skills and probably other shit, too. Markus is a good leader.
Don't worry about it. I shouldn't have been so harsh when I started talking to you. Habit, I guess. One I need to break out of my programming.

[Connor is always uncomfortable about what happened at Jericho, but he's learned to ignore it, and like York, to push the thoughts away. He's not at the point yet where he's ready to examine them.]
There must be something about you, maybe something you've yet to discover about yourself. Or maybe it's all random. I don't know.
[Another rabbit to chase down a hole. Later. Sometime in the future.]
It's fine. I don't expect any less from other androids. I know what I did.
no subject
[He holds up a finger like a warning. Like he'd actually be able to do anything against someone like Connor. York wouldn't, he doesn't have the strength for it like the detective android does.]
Yeah, well, if you've deviated and you're trying to be better, I shouldn't be holding you back, fucker.
[He huffs even though it's unneeded. A trait he's probably picked up from the humans around him here.]
You can't learn if you're just caged in by what I knew of you already. And even that's outdated because you're ahead of me in our timeline.
