Peter's Room
WHO: Peter Parker & YOU
WHERE: Peter's calibrations room
WHAT: Calibrations
WHEN: June 10th - July 10th
WARNINGS: potentially; family death, gun violence, bullying, medical emergencies and some other stuff, probably. Oh yeah, and spiders???
Peter's room looks very similar to the room he'd had back before he and May had to move out of their Original rental house. And it's a mess. His floor is covered with paper, his backpack(CW: Bullying) is laid on his bed, contents spilling out of it. Sitting just underneath it is a shock of red and blue cloth some people may recognize as Spider-Man's suit.
There are several shelves set up around the room one holds a Teddy Bear(cw: sick children) with what looks like a bandage wrapped around it's head. It's several years old by the looks of it but hasn't been touched in some time. Next to the bear is a picture(cw: gun violence, family death) of a younger Peter and a man that looks sort of similar with dark hair and glasses.
and right next to it is a model airplane(cw: family death.)
On the night stand by a twin bed is an abandoned book, a glass of water, an empty bag of sour gummies, and an Inhaler( cw: medical emergencies ) There's a small desk pushed up against the wall and Peter himself is sitting at it, he's got a book opened and he's hard at work on his chemistry homework. On the back of the chair is a plastic Iron Man Mask hanging by the elastic band.
The room is also covered in spider webs.(CW: Spiders) They're spaced out well enough that no one has to touch them to move about the room but they're definitely visible and all over the place- curiously, they are shaped like hammocks.

"Not really, it's just in my universe Mr Stark became Iron Man when I was seven."
no subject
"Strange man, though. I've known a lot of wealthy people, and a lot of smart people. Most of them tend to use it for evil," he says as he keeps up his walking in the room and looking around.
"Huh, what's this?" he asks, reaching out to touch the teddy bear.
Bears weren't exactly a thing in his world after all.
CW: medical emergencies
The room fades away and is replaced with a tight, brightly lit room. There are several nurses and doctors fighting with what must be a four year old boy to get him to sit in the ice.
"No, No! I don't want to!" Little Peter protests. "It's too cold! I don't want it!" He screams.
"Peter, please just do this for Mommy?" A woman with dark-red hair tries to coax him to cooperate from off to the side.
"No! No! I don't-" He stops very suddenly and looks like he can't breathe. The nurses and Doctors move in quickly and force the woman to leave while they deal with the emergency.
The scene changes and things must have calmed down because little Peter is on a bed, blanket tucked around him with an IV attached to his arm. He seems completely exhausted from his earlier fight.
"This is the third time we've been in this month.." Man that looks very similar to Peter now stands off to the side talking to a nurse with thick glasses and dark brown hair.
"I know, Richard. I know, but he's gonna be okay, you and Mary got him here in time and his fever is way down now." The nurse sooths the anxious father.
"Thanks May, I don't know what we'd do if-" Richard starts.
"Don't think like that. Peter's fine." She insists. "I have to go back to my shift but if you need anything, come get me." May tells him before pausing by Peter's bed to give his forehead a kiss. "Be good for you mom and dad. No more scares." She tells him.
"Sorry Aunt May..." Peter mumbles sleepily. May leaves at about the same time Peter's mom, Mary, comes in with something tucked behind her back.
"Peter, look at what I got you!" She says happily as she pulls the teddy bear with a bandage on its head out from behind her back and holds it out her son who gently takes it and holds it, looking at it critically.
"What happened to it?" Peter asks, concerned.
"I guess he hit his head, sweetie. Do you want to name it?" Mary prompts.
"Mm... Sir Cuddles." Peter decides, causing his Mom to laugh.
"Okay, sir cuddles." She nods and leans down to kiss his forehead and the memory fades back to Peter's room.

"Well, I meant more of what the animal was."
Still, he looks at the kid. He gets it.
"I'm sorry. That it was like that for you."
no subject
"Was that...?" He swallows the thick lump that's decided to take up residence in his throat. "My parents...?" It's clear he's not asking anyone in particular by the distant, far away tone.
"Huh?" He looks up when he remembers he had company. "Oh, it's a bear. My mom-right before she and my dad.. well she gave it to me 'cause I had a really high fever."
no subject
“You lost them?”
no subject
"Yeah." Peter nods, tone a little distant as he stares intensely out at nothing. "I was five." He admits. "So I don't... remember them that well."
no subject
"Anything else in here really old?"
Something that he could use to give Peter glimpses of his family.
no subject
no subject
"Alright. Point me to what's oldest so I can avoid it."
That seems like a better plan.
no subject
"Oh! Also anything gun shaped. That's probably bad too."
no subject
"Okay," he says, a bit intrigued. And so Gladio goes to sit down on the bed. Which means having to push the bookbag aside.
CW: bullying
He's walking along side a slightly larger boy about his age. "You sure you should be here?" He's asking him. "I don't think anyone would blame you if you took another day off."
"'M fine." Peter insists as the two start to head up the stairs, presumably to class. "Really I just-I don't want to think about it and that's easier to do here."
"Yeah, that makes sense..." his friend nods in agreement.
Coming down the stairs while the other two are headed up are two other boys about Peter's age talking excitedly. One of them, Flash, knocks into Peter's shoulder in a motion that looks pretty intentional. Peter spills backwards, down the stairs and lands with a harsh thump at the bottom.
"Peter!" His friend, Ned, calls out, hurrying down to help him back up. Peter gratefully takes the offered hand and manages to get back on his feet. "What the hell Flash? You could have really hurt him this time!"
"What? It was an accident." Flash sounds almost amused. "Even if it wasn't, Parker's not gonna do anything, are you Penis?" The other boy taunts while his friend laughs a little.
Peter stares at Flash a long moment. It looks like he wants to retaliate but ultimately he just turns back to his own friend. "Let's just get to class, Ned."
"Even if he did tell someone-my parents can just sue his for all their worth-oh wait. No they can't. They can't even sure your uncle anymore, can they?" Flash taunts and Peter stiffens. Again, for a moment it looks like he might retaliate but he never does and starts up the stairs again, Ned follows after the memory fades.
Peter's still sitting in his chair and his face is looking a little pale. Apparently there was more than just gun violence and a plane crash in his memory bank.
"It wasn't-I'm not..." He pauses, not really sure why suddenly feels the need to defend his lack of actions.
no subject
"You were bullied," he says with a wave of his hand. "You aren't to blame for that. Ever."
no subject
"No, but it's still kinda embarrassing. I mean, I have super powers. I could easily make him stop if I wanted but I know that's not a good use of my powers so I just.. kinda put up with it."
no subject
"That's noble, and honorable. There are plenty of people who, coming into power, would absolutely turn it against those that hurt them. You're a good kid, Peter."
no subject
"Um.. so.. my Uncle had this philosophy-or I guess it was more my dad-but basically he said that with great power must also come great responsibility. I think about that every single time I go out as Spider-Man or I'm in position I could use my powers but I probably shouldn't. And it keeps me pretty in line I guess."
"Although, every time Flash tries to hit me with his stupid car in the morning I get really tempted to kick it. But then like, I'd probably end up paying for it so probably not worth it."
no subject
"I think my dad would have agreed with those words. And Noct's dad too."
Because there was nothing more true. People with power could hurt others pretty easily.
"I'm sorry though."
