The first thing to note about the room is that it’s small. An average human has to lower themselves to fit within, though there's more horizontal space compared to last year's room. And this one is less like the interior of a computer - the ceiling, floor, and walls, are all made of rusty metal, creaking. Pipes and wires run through to different areas. There's a lite sway to this room, like it's on a ship.
It is a ship - the interior of one.
The room is fashioned to look like York's former home in Detroit: Jericho.
There's a table with newspapers on display. All of them have different headlines, with the cover photo moving to capture the visitor's attention. The first shows figures leaping from a ship into the harbor before it explodes with the headline 'DEVIANT HIDEOUT RAIDED' [cw: gun violence; death]. Thers's a splatter of blue on the paper's corner. The next newspaper shows the landscape of a park before hands come to cover the camera with the title 'HUMANS ATTACKED BY DEVIANT ANDROID' [cw: assault, physical violence]. Another paper next to that, this one featuring the library of Temba with 'keep out' tape altered over the image. 'LIBRARY BREAK-IN' reads the title. The paper looks like someone tried to crumple it. And the last one, a wet newspaper, shows a cliffside house being demolished and falling into the ocean below with the headline 'CYBERLIFE ATTACKS STARK'.
The room creaks and at the far wall, sits York, but it doesn't look like the teenager that's a current resident of the city. This form is older, like a man in his twenties. The way he's supposed to look before the shell was lost. Wires connected to the walls are draped around him, keeping him tethered to the far wall.
"Ah," he says when he spots his visitor. "So we're really are doing this shit again. Fanfuckingtastic." Less angry compared to last time. Just annoyed by this shit again.
[I'll be using a different set of icons for the older version of York in replies, but that face doesn't apply outside of the calibration room. ~Xi]

"Yes, the violation of trust is a bad thing, and a lot of people dislike hospitals. But I'm certain you're not send by them in the way they mean. You're not peanut butter flavored."

"Well good luck trying to get Tony to believe it. I apologized and shit and there I sit, still broken. The other party and I wanted to make sure that the new part would work because there are protocols I can't remove," to which York gestures with his hands at the cables holding him to the wall. The wires that were binding the software to the hardware.
"If you talk to him and manage to make a miracle happen, fanfuckingtastic. Because I sure as hell can't do it."
no subject
"My dear, Tony is quite agreeable if you know how to apply leverage. I can see what I can do for you. What do you need from him specifically?"
no subject
“I don’t have any leverage I think he’d want that I’d be comfortable giving.” Leverage that he thinks is allowing the engineer to poke around at his system to see how it works. He had been reluctantly willing to that day at the hospital, with Dustin there, but any of those plans they had, had fallen through spectacularly.
Finally he looks back at Tae and gestures at himself. “He and my Tony are like…parallels of each other. Similar enough that I could use this world’s Tony to at least lift access protocols set in place that keep me from accepting outside parts into my system. Those protocols also keep me from accessing deeper set things, such as personality functions and also moving from shell to shell. So if we rebuilt a shell that mirrors this one,” and he gestures at the body sitting before her, “we wouldn’t be able to upload and download me from the current body I’m in, into a new one.”

Still, she's intrigued by that other part. Maybe she could talk to Tony about that too. Maybe this android would be happier then.
"I can watch over it all if you need."
no subject
"I've got someone to watch over that I know out in the city and who's earned my trust," though there had been a blow to that trust when Dustin withheld the information of Tony even being present. But he clearly thinks about it. "I won't mind if someone that has better relations with Tony wants to watch over the proceedings."

"I can't be a physician for you myself, so it's important I make sure you are getting your care as needed. Consider it a referral. So I'm happy to do what I can."
She's trying her best here.
no subject
"I'll take the referral. Next time I see the two repair guys for me I'll say they'll have to answer to you if they give me hell about working with me." And maybe he could use that to have the three of them meet up in a better place. A place for the android's preference at least.
The teal-blue eyes watch her before he speaks again. "...Thanks."
no subject
"I suppose how threatened they feel will depend on their feelings about me."
And Tony might enjoy the idea of punishment from her, so that might not work.
"Gladly. We'll make plans when we get out of here, make sure that we remember this, alright?"
no subject
“I’ll see you around…. Miss Tae.”
