[Calibrations] What lies behind those sunglasses
WHO: Albert Wesker & Whoever is unlucky enough to end up in his dreamscape
WHERE: Wesker'srich inner life Calibration Room
WHAT: Calibrations
WHEN: Jone 10th to July 10th
WARNINGS: CW for blood, injury & death for the wheelchair and injector/sunglasses combo || also: dream murder
The room is dark. Dark and on first sight seemingly empty. But the effect only lasts until the visitor steps forward and dimly lit computer and control panels can be made out. The monitors glow weakly and whatever data scrolls across them is impossible to be made out. Once the visitor reaches the center of the room, a single massive monitor high up on the wall across of them turns on but all it shows is blackness. Underneath it are more control panels fixed with more smaller monitors and buttons that don't do anything if pressed.
Unfortunately there is no discernable way out of this room. Or is there?
Checking the consoles will allow the visitor to find a couple stray items: A S.T.A.R.S. Badge right at the canter under the large monitor, an old, empty wheelchair in front of the control panels at one side as well as an empty injector and a pair of broken sunglasses left in an oddly untidy pile on the floor. Also one of the smaller screens is very much broken. Almost as if someone punched a fist right into it.
If the visitor looks even further, they may notice another person with them, standing quietly and with his arms crossed in one of the far corners of the room. A corner not occupied with more control panels, but housing a small group of large test tubes. Empty, yet capable of holding a being in them that is much larger than a tall human. They are unlit and barely reflect any of the dim light cast by the monitors. Wesker himself is dressed in an entirely black suit, fitting him nicely but making him almost disappear in the darkness of the room itself. He doesn't speak, but he certainly watches and behind his dark glasses are the two easily brightest spots in this entire room: The man's eerily red glowing eyes as he watches his visitor's every move.

"Anyone here?" he calls out as he looks around the room, moving slowly through it. "No daemons about to eat me, right?"
no subject
"No such luck I am afraid." He answers in a voice that speaks calmly but not without a warning in its tone. "A daemon may have been inclined to play. I will simply break your neck if you touch anything."
no subject
"You've never dealt with daemons," Gladio counters, rolling his eyes. They didn't play back home. They wanted you to die. Except for that one that just wanted Prompto to be her child. That was messed up. He moves to lean against a counter, looking into the dark.
"Who's there?
no subject
"You infiltrated my space. I should be the one asking questions."
no subject
And speaking of how it works, he shifts the hand he's leaning against. Bad choice. That badge definitely brushes his hand. Oops.

He, of course, understands none of it. But that does not stop Link from pressing the buttons, seeing if anything happens.
As yet, it doesn't appear that Link has noticed anyone else in the room.

Wesker strikes fast and almost entirely silent as he comes up behind Link and grabs the back of the younger man's shirt to pull him away from the console and quickly wrap an arm around his neck from behind to limit his movement. "Don't move."
no subject
His shifts his chin down, protecting his neck - and also allowing his teeth to sink into his attacker's arm. At the same time, his brings up his hands to press on Wesker's elbow - and then uses that pressure as he twists to the side to attempt to force Wesker's arm to open, and allow himself to slip out of the grip.
no subject
His voice takes on an impatient tone and he growls. "I repeat: Don't. Move."
no subject
Unfortunately, his next response...doesn't go the way he expects it to. He holds out one hand, snaps his fingers, and...nothing happens. He blinks, momentarily thrown off for a brief second. Where is Urbosa?
No time to think about that. Link's arms shoot up, his fingers reaching up for Wesker's eyes, seeking to gouge them out. If Wesker's arms are holding Link - well, they can't defend his eyes at the same time.
At the same time he hooks one leg around Wesker's ankle, attempting to yank him off balance.

He sucks in a breath to calm his nerves. It's a dream right? There's no reason to be nervous. What is this place anyway? He squints at one of the monitor to see if he can make out a company logo or something.
He moves a little closer to it but he can't help the feeling that he's being watched and pauses to look around before catching sight of those creepy, red eyes.
"Yeah, that tracks." Peter says to himself.
no subject
"If you touch anything, I will kill yu as well." A threat he has spoken before - And kept true to.
no subject
"I got memories I'd probably rather die than people know about." He gets the feeling his rambling isn't really helping anything. "But uh... how do I get outta here without.. you, the pain of death? I mean, I guess it's effective but a little dramatic."
no subject
"Who are you?"
no subject
He feels a prickle at the base of his neck again when Wesker steps closer and it's distracting enough he has to lift his arm up to try and force the hairs on his neck to go back down. Whoever this man is- his senses are screaming at him to stay away.
"Um-uh-Peter. Peter Parker. Sorry.. I uh.. got distracted." He shakes his head, trying to ignore the insistent warning.

The dark room is already bad enough- one never had many great experiences in such surroundings. Even once his eyes adjust to the dim lighting provided by the computer screens.
Naturally he's cautious. The experiences in these places aren't at all too unlike what he can do with his natural Force ability and that's when he's awake. His body's on edge as he proceeds cautiously, eyes narrowed as he looks around. All at once he stops as he senses someone else watching. But of course. One was never actually alone in here.
Slowly the Jedi looks further into the shadows, meeting that glowing gaze. Well that's unsettling.

Wesker dislikes this. He dislikes having pieces of his past laid bare regardless how trivial they may be. Not all of them are, of course, but Wesker generally doesn't need anyone to know anything about him at all. He rather figures out more about those he is trapped with so he knows what he is dealing with.

Cal raises his hands. "Look, I didn't ask to be in here either," he says, not quite rolling his eyes. He'd known this guy was intense from the first time they'd met, but the outright threat definitely rubs him the wrong way.
"Anyway, not like it's the first time someone's tried," the Jedi mutters. He's pretty tired of people trying to kill him but it's about the norm for him these days.
no subject
But there are obvious drawbacks as well. He may be the one that can access his own powers based on this place being his dream, but at the same time this place is to designed to put him on display. Which means he can't allow his visitors to gain any footing. Any sliver of information they might want to inquire about further is dangerous and therefore the key here remains to keep the pressure on his side.
"If you want to leave, I know the fastest way out." Which is more or less correct. He is aware that he can only actually kill someone that has triggered a memory. Which at that point is well deserved in his opinion. The only other way is to outlast their stay and dodge being probed.
no subject
"There's a fast way? News to me. This isn't the first time I've been stuck in these things, and there's rarely an actual fast way. There's prerequisites of a sort. They might differ between spaces, but they're still there."
Clearly this man has something to hide. Being here in itself is dangerous. Gaining further knowledge will put a target on his head. ...not like that's new either, but Cal isn't sure whether he wants to do that. Temba's been a nice break from the threats back home, after all.
Of course, if they've got another dangerous person in their midst, wouldn't it be good to know just what they're potentially dealing with..?

"WOAH." his attention is caught by the large empty test tubes "It's like a secret lab!"
There is only one way to go about this.
"Hey, you!" he calls out to Wesker "Creepy guy! Is this an evil secret lab?"
no subject
He doesn't leave his dark corner just yet and merely asks. "Who are you."
