[Open] Sports Are Another Woman's Job

WHO: Tae Takemi, Tony Stark, Open
WHERE: Pry Says Tent, Sports Day Events
WHAT: Longing For Pry Says, Trying to Sport
WHEN: May 2nd through 5th
WARNINGS: None

I. Look At All The Pretty Things | Closed To Tony Stark
Tae had not really been excited to hear the Agrii's announcement. In some ways it had felt like a jab right at her. She hadn't been so helpful during that fight, and the running off barefoot had not been fun. Still, she hadn't really been a sports club person in high school, and while she did enough exercise to keep healthy, competition wasn't really her thing.

Which was why she had come here. To look at the Prizes and tell herself that it clearly wasn't worth it, especially since the hospital was starting to get going well here.

And instead here she was, eyeing a pair of black leggings with a gray spider web pattern on it. Which was after she'd looked at some practical, work suitable tennis shoes. And some wonderful stiletto heals. Not to mention the leather mini skirt.

"Dammit," she sighs as she looks over it all. "How am I going to get enough for these and the vouchers and the other supplies. If there was ever a time I could use the guinea pig around, this would be it."
II. Balloon Popping Queen | Open
It was a starting place. A miserable one given what Tae had on her shopping list, but a starting point. Because amazingly enough, sports were a lot easier to do when you weren't wearing platform high heels, right? Still, Tae had absolutely found the best solution to getting started.

Which was why the woman entered the balloon pop fenced in area with the straps of her boots loose. As soon as the timer started she stepped out of them, picked one up in each hand, and started at the offending balloons with the sharp heels. Which was pretty effective, given the points they came to. The woman clearly knew what she was doing with how often there were popping noises. That said anyone watching might want to take a step back, because the glitter was sure flying.

"This glitter better be biodegradable, aliens."
III. Trying Your Best | Open
Alright. It had taken her almost a third of the day once things had started to buy the shoes she needed, and she had needed to wash her legs and clothes during a light lunch on her ship, but now she was back and the doctor looked... intent as she moved through the games, her pockets jingling with chits.

"Alright then," she said, facing down the line of games. "I suppose it's time to get started. Now, how do I know which of these are even worth trying?"

She needed the best pay out possible for someone of her level of skill, so she was probably not going to do well here.

That was supposed to be Tony's game, so he tried to turn around, "I knew you liked him. Straight to the top of the list, not even any other contenders. I get it, he's great to listen to, you should hear him sing. Listen, that would have been a fun surprise, wouldn't it? If you actually listened when I said not to worry about it, I'd take care of it, I could make a concert happen. You'll get another chance, future is full of possibilities."

"Plenty of music, you're just hanging with the wrong crowd," Tony promised, the quirk of his smile slightly apologetic for what did pass as a cultural experience in their limited resources. "I can see why you get along with Wesker, though, can't hold that against you. Bet if you compared lists, the same people would be at the top of them, great bonding experience. You should probably be considering what kind of bribe will convince me to keep the bodies buried, too, just in case."

Now that Tae was polishing her degradation with a little bit of a threat, Tony had to admit, "Very hot, let's cycle back around to that," with an illustrative twirl of his finger. First, they had to address, "What kind of research?" Tony hadn't been able to pin that down, and he tried to keep his voice airily curious.

Letting Tae give away more than she realized was much more difficult when she deflected with questions, and Tony had to control the tick of impatience with his tongue between his teeth as he eased that parry with a disarming smile. "Rheumatologist," he said with a deferential tip of his head. He had been listening, so he did have part of that answer. Not what he was asking.

"And what's our prognosis?" Tony asked, not looking terribly bothered by the potentially bleak suggestion of some alien disease sweeping through the community. "All things considered, there've been people from extraordinary corners of the perpetual universe here, together, on this alien planet for years now, we're pretty spread out but rely on the same food and water sources, and have been known to be doing some outright filthy things to each other's orifices at the best opportunities, and so far we've averted disaster. At least--listen, I don't know if we would recognize it as a disease if it happened. Plenty of what we go through could be mass hallucinations."

Tony started to open his mouth, breath jumping with an argument that he swallowed and gaze dropping away until it landed on something to aim for. If she was just going to hear what she wanted, he might as well start saying what she wanted to hear, and one thing that always got attention was, "How are we paying?" He flicked a finger toward their assembled selections, the cumulative bill a respectable one by now, so they knew what to work toward. "Cash, credit, or humiliating series of tasks for the home audience to get off on?"

"I don't think we had those," Tony admitted, brow furrowed thoughtfully. "Or, if we did, I didn't--" He shrugged, hands flapping; he had more important things to do than waste a day playing games that dad didn't approve of. "I was on the baseball team, though, and then football, in college. Pretty good, too, until I ate shit on the bike and crushed my knee. It's fine now, don't worry, not gonna hold you back. Name your game--when you had to, there must have been one you coasted by on. Unless--I can see you smoking under the bleachers."

"Volleyball, okay, can't be too hard..." Tony mused, turning and starting to wander back out between the games and start scanning them for similar skills. Even if Tae got herself out of there, it was still the one she was drawn to and had some experience in, so it was the place to start. She could do that while Tony figured out how to hack the token dispenser. "And no fun whatsoever. Can't be having that in school."
