[The video's a little grainy, and somehow the sound goes in and out, fluctuating between crisp and clear to staticky with some sort of interference. At least it doesn't look like the turtle is in any sort of trouble. In fact he look downright ecstatic. Or maybe perky is the better word for it. The metal of his goggles seems to have a faint glow. Weird.]

Okay, so what is it about this cave? I'm trying to find the hot springs but I got sidetracked by the readings I was getting... Titanium should not be glowing like- look at this!

[He turns the tablet camera towards his tech-bō. Funny thing, that's not all that's glowing. The violet markings on his skin seem to be lighting up too, but he doesn't seem to have noticed.]

Fascinating! A-and super weird but wow, I don't know what's going on, is that normal? I don't think it's normal. -also is it normal to feel like you wanna run laps around here? I feel like I just drank several cups of espresso, is that a bad thing?

You took the wrong turn in the cave. Where it first forks, you gotta go left. There's a lower concentration of whatever that shit is so it's not completely overwhelming.

And dude, you're glowing.

Overwhelming? Oh, this whole... Yeah, that's probably it.

[He pauses from nodding then.]

Yeah. My eyes and hair do that when I am in there. No hot springs for me.

Should I be worried?

Nah, it overloaded my powers.

That doesn't really explain...this whole situation, anyway.

Yeah. The speed stuff. Explosions too, but I don't use them much. When I'm in there I have to go running for so long to work it off. Billy gave us all a carnival when he went and sat in there for a day.

-but if I don't have..."powers" then I shouldn't be affected, right?

[He pulls down his goggles to study the walls, but it's hard getting a clear reading with everything going on. Frustrating. But no less interesting. There's definitely something going on there.

He nudges his goggles up again, giving his tech-bō a shake.]

Unfortunately whatever's running through this cave isn't doing it for a dead battery anyway...

That isn't necessarily true? I mean, you're hardly standard, right? So you might be drawing the energy in unintentionally.

[Tommy laughs.]

Just make batteries.

I... Well I guess when you put it that way. But I don't see how being a mutant turtle would make me an energy siphon.

[Donnie makes a face then.]

Working on it. I was going to try converting the power over, considering that this place isn't exactly the same as Earth standard. I just need to figure out how to do that, and all the available rechargeable rods are way too big.

Maybe you inherently channel it in some manner.

[Tommy shrugs at the rods being too big.]

I'm not an engineer, I don't know anything about this stuff. Try talking to that Reeve guy I guess?

[He moves closer to the cavern walls, the video connection becoming increasingly staticky.]

Ugh, too-- drill isn't work--

I just need to... Huh.

[He looks just off screen at something as the violet tinged glow seems to be brightening from a source other than himself.]

Whoa...

[Shortly after, the communication cuts out.]

[And damn, he's just cut off. And can't go there to help!]
