Ghost of Christmas Everything

WHO: Phalanx, OTA
WHERE: Winter Planet
WHAT: Ghosts, candles, and playing in the snow
WHEN: Jan 12th - 31st
WARNINGS: Will update if needed!

Holiday ghost
Wherever Phalanx has been for the past several weeks, a change of scenery seems to have shaken the collection of ghosts out of their hibernation. Any time of the day or night, the quiet, rag-cloaked being can be seen happily exploring the entirety of the village, observing and picking at anything that happens to catch their attention.

During the day, they wade through the snow, marvel at decorations, and tend to excitedly point any little thing that they find interesting out to the nearest available person (and really, this little bit of tinsel doesn't seem to be any different from that bit of tinsel, but they apparently find it amazing). And at night... Phalanx has never really had much of a sense for people's personal space, and that fact does not change in a new place. It doesn't matter what cabin, there is a chance that Phalanx will find a way in and explore someone else's temporary home like a happily-oblivious burglar. Rooms will be wandered through, candies and small personal belongings have a chance of being pocketed, and Phalanx might even decide to snuggle in by someone when their energy runs out.

Candles
After all that wandering, and whatever the spirits had been up to before the trip here, it has left them finding places to rest more often than usual. Bundled up cozy in their layers of rags--and a new, multi-colored, four-armed sweater somehow tangled in there as well--Phalanx tends to find quiet corners to just drop down into whenever they're tired. They draw up their knees and hunker down to watch the goings-on around them... and fail to notice that some of the candles nearby are of the normal wax-and-fire sort, which begins to singe bits of of ragged cloth sticking off of their cloak.

Let it snow
The thing that draws Phalanx out the most, however, is when all of these new children are out playing in the snow. Fragments of memory can't help but pull on them, lost little details about what it had been like to be children or parents, enticing them out of the cabin and into the snow to watch.

Mostly, they just smile to themself or vaguely wander after the children as they run around... but every once in a while, when they watch kids throw snowballs or build creations out of snow, they stuff their own hands into the snow nearby. They mostly only dig or uselessly smoosh snow between their hands until it becomes slush, but they at least seem to be having fun.

It's been difficult keeping an eye on the countless children, but it's made Billy extra vigilant, and as he passes Phalanx he does a sort of triple take before doubling back, moving to nudge the candles out of singeing distance and offering a small smile.

"...How you doing?" he offers.

Billy returns the smile. He still hasn't quite figured out how to properly talk with Phalanx, but it doesn't stop him from trying.

"I'm good. Mostly. It's been a whole lot of chasing after my brother."
