[A flare of light, a glimpse of sky. A groan in pain and a perhaps familiar if panicked beeping.

There's a brief glimpse of the little bipedal droid as he dashes by while the tablet settles, still propped up at an angle, although at most they only capture the edge of a pair of boots.]

-ow, ow... Great timing as usual. Yeah BeeDee, I'm fine, I'm-

[The boots shift, accompanied by an off-screen hiss as Cal sucks in a sharp breath, and for a moment he stills, a thoughtful silence settling in. It's broken by BD-1's scrabbling about, pausing before his boxlike head dips down to peer directly into the communicator's camera. He hoots inquiringly.]

...Hm? What is it, buddy?

[Those boots drag themselves off-screen, and then the camera moves as it's picked up. Cal frowns a moment before his brow eases with a weary smile.]

Yeah, I'll live.

[All things considered, he knows he'd gotten off really lucky.

Cal's not used to people worrying about him, and he knows a few here will be all over him if they find out what condition he'd arrived in. After figuring they'd already been worried enough by his disappearance, he's not inclined to want to add more to that pile.

By the middle of bandaging Cal figures it's faster and easier for the Soldier to do it while he just keeps his arms out of the way, and when all's said and done, the Jedi gives him a nod.]

Just might hurt for a few days.

[The Soldier is not the type to bandage and tell though, so the extent of Cal's injuries will remain as private as he wants. At least Cal is a good patient; it doesn't take long to get him properly bandaged, especially with the way he helpfully keeps his arms out of the way.]

You're welcome. [A beat too late; he hadn't really expected the thanks and truth be told it feels weird accepting any gratitude. Then again, it's not like he provides much in community involvement to receive thanks; he's not used to it.]

I assume you'll want to rest. Do you need anything? Food, or clean clothes? [The things he usually wants himself when recovering an injury.]

[A few days isn't too bad. He's being sarcastic, of course. With everything done with, he lets himself relax a little more.]

Yeah, rest is on the top of my list. I think at least I have some water here. Food would be great though. Clothes... I still have something to wear, BeeDee?

[The droid looks over before popping the mechanism on an unassuming box just under the droid's trophy shelves, clinging to the lid as he peers inside before glancing back up with a beep in affirmation.]

Good on clothes.

Painkillers might help, if that's your preference.

[Nothing replaces just plain rest though. At least Cal seems to be on the same page. And best to take advantage of whatever relative quiet he can, before the Agrii throw something else their way.]

At least you're not stuck relying on my fashion sense. [Though Cal perhaps might not mind utilitarian choices.] I was stocking my own supplies today. I can bring you food and water if you want to rest.

[He grins crookedly.]

I don't think I'm anyone to talk regarding fashion sense. [Boy has worn a pink poncho before, after all. It clashed horribly with everything, but BD-1 was always excited when he found crates of scavengeable gear.]

I won't say no to the food though. And I guess if you don't mind dropping a line with Billy...

[He won't say no to that either, but right now he's really ready to just lie down.]

[He's nothing if not capable. And surely there's a planet out there where a pink poncho is good camouflage!]

I'll bring supplies and leave them in your workshop if you want. And see if Billy's busy. [And Cal could just rest.]

[Cal nods at that.]

That'll work. Guess I'll leave you to it, then.

[He smiles gratefully, saving the Soldier another thank you, but he's waiting until the man's on his way before he'll settle himself in so he can pass out for a while.

BD-1 borbles his own thanks and will follow the Soldier out to the workshop.]

[In the workshop he leans a hip against a work bench and leaves Billy a voicemail before looking down at the little droid who had followed him out. Quite dedicated to its master; the Soldier nods to himself.]

I'll not bother his rest. But he can contact me if he needs. [A rare offer, but sincere. And with that he makes his way out.

Supplies will be gathered and left in the workshop some hours later, as promised. But the Soldier won't linger if he's not stopped; there's no need to impose on Cal's rest.]
