April - Catch All
Who: Ash, Pikachu and You
When: Through out the first week of April
Where Through out Temba
What: Energetic ten year old continues to explore. Kids are never done exploring.
Warnings: Mild electrocution. Everyone's fine though, probably.
{ Rise and Shine - Early Morning - Beginning of the week - Hotel }
Ash is asleep. He's somehow managed to end up with his head half hanging over the side of the bed despite that when he'd gone to bed the night before he did start this his head on a pillow. That pillow is now on the floor. The blanket is half kicked off, the only reason it's still there is Pikachu is sleeping comfortably on Ash's stomach and somehow holding the blanket in place.
Ash snores softly and then shifts again, raising his arm only for it flop back down almost immediately. He mutters something and then returns to his snoring.
"Thunderbolt, Pikachu.." He mutters sleepily.
"Pi?" Comes Pikachu's sleepy reply. "Pika.."
"CHUU"
For anyone that happens to be crossing by Ash's door they'll hear a startled yelp and might catch a few flashes of bright light coming from under the door followed by a loud thud
It takes a second for Ash to catch on what exactly just happened. He's back up on his feet in seconds flat. His hair on end and little waves of static starting to dissipate.
"Pikachu! Why'd you do that!?" Ash demands. Pikachu blinks in confusion.
"Pi? Pi-ikachu..." He says apologetically and Ash lets out a sigh. He could never stay mad at Pikachu so he just lets it go and moves to grab his blue and white shirt, his cap and his fingerless gloves before before he makes his way out the door and into the hall, Pikachu up on his shoulder just as how it should be.
"Good Morning!" He greets the first person he sees with cheer that could only come from a kid.
{ Ketchup Please! - Mid Morning - Anytime During the week - Diner }
Ash comes to the diner pretty frequently because he's not a great cook. That was always more Brock or Cilan, or Clemont or even sometimes Serena's area of expertise- man does he miss her macrons and Pokepuffs- so rather than risk setting something on fire he's decided to just check in with the diner in the morning and maybe forage for berries or something for anything else.
"Hello!" He calls cheerfully as he enters the building to sit down somewhere. He's not sure how or when it happened but at some point Pikachu managed to get ahold of something that looks a whole lot like ketchup. Suddenly he's hearing some very happy noises from Pikachu and looks over to see he's found a perch on the counter and now there's a mess of the not-actually-ketchup all over an otherwise empty plate.
"Wah! Pikachu! What are you doing? You can't take all of it!" Ash hops up dashes over to the countertop Pikachu's claimed and tries to wrestle the plate and the bottle away from his little friend. It does not go well. There's a harsh thud as Ash ends up on the floor somehow and ends up dropping the plate so the ketchup adjacent condiment splatters everywhere - including all over him.
Pikachu holds the bottle victoriously, hugging onto it with happy little 'Chaas'
"Aw man, we made such a mess." Ash states, coming up from where he'd fallen on the floor.
{ A Failed Connection - Afternoons and Evenings - All throughout the week - Flood Plain }
Ash has found a rock to sit on as he looks out out at the lake. It's nice and calm at the moment and lets him just think. He'd been thinking a lot about his Aura as of late thanks to meeting Superheroes that actually have super powers. He has no desire to use his Aura in that regard but it did get him thinking about the friend he'd left in Kalos.
Ash had told everyone that he didn't know why he and Greninja could perform the bond phenomenon like they could but that wasn't entirely true. He knew the moment he found out he'd passed out that Greninja was pulling energy from his Aura. Which is why Ash knew in order to really master that power they had he had make his own body and mind stronger but he fell into the trap of wanting to get stronger in order to win and not to strengthen his bond with his Pokémon.
Only after he'd gotten his priorities back in line was it confirmed by Professor Sycamore that Greninja was getting its power directly from Ash's power. Thankfully, Professor Sycamore didn't know about Aura or the whole conversation would have gotten very unpleasant.
He closes his eyes and takes a deep breath in before slowly releasing it so he can just focus. He can feel blades of grass, the trees, even the push and pull of the water to some extent but the presence he's really looking for isn't there. He can feel Pikachu quietly curled up and sleeping beside him but that's not who he's searching for. After about an hour he gives in and heads back to the hotel.
Everyday he comes back to the same spot. It's nice and the calm helps him to focus but he's just not able to establish a link with Greninja. It's probably because they're way too far away from each other. He's not even sure why he's trying but it would be nice to check in. Just to connect with someone from home.
Should anyone come across him they might notice a very faint blue light surrounding Ash. It gets brighter the harder he tries to focus. And if Pikachu happens to notice someone's presence he's up on all fours and letting out a few warning sparks from his cheeks to get them back off.

Diner
Re: Diner
"Hey Radley, do you have a mop?" Ash asks, probably looking like a sight covered in the ketchup like sauce.

"I'll take care of. Pikachu's my responsibility after all." He explains. "And I don't think he'd gonna be of much help." Pikachu doesn't look like he heard but a quick little jolt of electricity seems to hit Ash's hat right off his head.
"Not funny, Pikachu." Ash groans as he bands to scoop his cap back up.
no subject
"... Well, at least he likes it after all...."
He flinches at the sudden presence of electricity. Definitely not funny to him either.
no subject
It's cute up until he's ready to violently defend that bottle he's got. Which is exactly why Ash has decided to just let him have it at this point. It's not worth the trouble of trying to get it back.
While Pikachu happily eats away at the ketchup-like substance Ash works on cleaning up the sacrificed plate and mopping up the mess all over the floor.
no subject
"... So has that always been his favorite food?"
no subject
"Yeah, ever since we visited Dark City and I asked him to pour some ketchup on my omelet. That was a mistake." Ash lets out a wistful sigh as he thinks about that poor omelet. It never stood a chance. Briefly, he wonders if the Yas or the Kaz gym ever did become an official Pokemon Gym.
"I try to limit how much he gets though."
no subject
He would find it eerie deja vu if Ash told about that adventure, as the set-up was strangely like what had happened back home.
"Probably a good idea."
He pauses, mulling over the statement. "Dark City? That's a ... cheery name for a town."

Hotel
So rather than continuing to climb down, Link climbs over. Knocks on the window, and peers inside. Are Ash and Pikachu okay? Does Link need to break in and check in on them?
no subject
"Hi." He greets, a little startled at finding the man outside his second story window. "Needed a wall to climb?" Ash is looking, maybe a little extra crispy this morning but he seems fine. Pikachu is looking just as bright and yellow as ever.
no subject
"Always," Link says, as he leans in through the window. He looks at Ash, noting the crispiness. "You okay?"
no subject
"Huh? Oh.. yeah. My wake up call this morning was just a little shocking." He shakes his head to clear it.
"Pika Pikachu..." Pikachu says sheepishly.
no subject
He knew the odd creature could produce electricity, but he'd assumed Pikachu wouldn't use it on his friend. Apparently, that assumption was wrong. How often did that happen?
"I can give you something for electric resistance," he says.
no subject
"Pika." Pikachu agreed with a nod.
"Besides, it takes a lot more than a little thunderbolt to keep me down!" He says with far more energy than really anyone should have this early in the morning after having gotten shocked like that.
no subject
"Why do you call out attacks?" It's a bit of a strange thing to do. Why tell your enemy what you're about to do? Or waste the breath on it?
no subject
That's not entirely true, sometimes they know exactly what he's going to say before he gets the words out he and Greninja have to move at the same time thanks to their battle bond.

Diner
"Please tell me you're not bleeding kid."
no subject
"Huh? This is just ketchup." Sorta. The closest thing to it, anyway.
no subject
"Why are you covered with it?"
no subject
"Pika!" Pikachu agrees with a little wave of his hand. Ash eyes him a moment and considers taking the bottle back but it's probably not worth it. That will just have to be Pikachu's bottle now.
"I tried to get the bottle back from him but..." It did not go what one would refer to as... well.
no subject
"So you lost a fight to a little yellow rabbit?" Gladio asked, eyebrows raised. That was rather impressive.
no subject
Pikachu lets out a startled noise as he realizes what Ash has just done.
"You can't just eat ketch-Wah!" Ash starts before he's interrupted by Pikachu jumping on him to try and get the bottle back. Ash manages to slip on the cumato sauce on the floor and lands with a crash. He's still trying to keep the bottle from his little yellow friend. Pikachu is not having it.
"PikaCHUU!" He lets loose a jolt of electricity. Ash cries out in alarm and Pikachu is once again reunited with the bottle.
"I give up.." Ash sighs, coming up again, this time looking a little extra crispy with Pikachu sitting happily on his head.
no subject
"Come on, let him up," Gladio said to the little creature that seemed to have won the conflict. "I'll take care of him, and you can keep your bottle."
no subject
Ash grips Pikachu gently and moves him back to the counter. He will not be trying to get the bottle back again anytime soon.
"It takes Pikachu a little time to get used to people lately." Ash offers, gently petting his Pikachu on the head.
