First Breath

This is not good. Billy realizes that as soon as he finds himself on the ship, but like before, there's no escaping, no getting back to Tommy. Unlike last time, the ship actually moves, and Billy starts in surprise.

Baby sitter for hire

There's so many kids. It's pure luck at first that Billy isn't one of them, but he does figure out the source eventually, and makes a point to steer clear. Some one needs to stick around and be responsible, and oh God, that's him??

Tommy's naturally his primary focus, but he spends his time trying to keep an eye out for the others, magicking up blankets and earmuffs, and mitts, and trying to insist they actually keep them on. There's a few scraped knees and that sort of thing to take care of from time to time, and Billy's actually pretty good at this, when he needs to be. He even conjures up some books for them, and hosts a couple story times to try and keep them out of trouble.

Worn out

Of course all this magic is seriously draining, on top of running/flying around after the kids, and Billy's utterly exhausted. A few days in he nearly passes out after a simple bit of magic, and has to resolve to take it easy for a while, though he tries not to let any know, especially the kids.

Somehow, Lorna has also been a Responsible Adult over the past handful of days. However, now she is a Tired Responsible Adult. Sleep has been a myth as she tried to literally and figuratively chase after kids.

Now she's floating slightly off the ground (because walking sounds like effort right now okay?), and .. accidentally bumps right against Billy's side. "Oh shit, sorry!" She stops and sets herself back on the ground.

Billy definitely gets the appeal of floating, he's been doing that more and more, but he doesn't have the strength just now to use his magic for that. He starts as he bumped, an apology immediately on his lips before he properly takes in who it is he's bumped into.

"Lorna??"

Her eyes quickly brighten a little -- as much as she can manage in the sleepy-ness anyway -- and gives a short nod. "Yep! Hey. Just looking for an IV drip of sanity and caffeine." A beat, then: "Somehow, I'm not surprised to have run into you this fast. Well, fast by... us slow people speeds, not Tommy speeds." Because of course she found him first.

"Oh, uh, here," Billy offers, magicking up a steaming cup of coffee. He's gotten far too used to being unrestrained with his magic since they've been on this planet, but one more spell can't hurt.

"That's half of what you're looking for at least."

"Ooh, thank you." She takes it and takes a giant sip — gulp, maybe. She'd call coffee magic anyway, but actual magic coffee? Hell yeah. "You holding up okay otherwise?"

"Ah well...this isn't the worst scrape I've found myself in, I guess, so..." Billy gives a small smile, opting to joke rather than acknowledge the seriousness of it all. "But...yeah. I'm okay. I guess. You?"

"Somehow, I'm not sure that's one hundred percent reassuring." There's a juxtaposition on her face between the slight frown she gives and the smile across her lips. "But yeah, I think I'm okay. Home's a shitshow, and this place isn't Mojoverse or anything like that, so that's where the bar is. It goes."
