[The video opens on the ruins of the attempted brick oven. It does not shift to Tommy at any point, but rather circles the thing as he sighs.]
So, attempt one at a wood-fired brick oven to bring the wonders of pizza and really good grilled fish and the like went... Well, can we say 'poorly'? I was hoping to add some charms of home to the awesome shit that Radley's helping me make and that whole menu he's cooked up for the old place. Mostly that means 'those things are delayed while project is approached from another angle.' Or other business words.
Which means new project time. Come on, what other foods would you like to see? Maybe Radley can help me figure them out, dude's amazing in the kitchen. Honestly, the increased step up in food quality lately is all him, so applaud him if you see the guy around. Radley, if we had money, you'd be getting the biggest raise, not gonna lie.
Also, I'm thinking about making a patio area out here. I know there's other stuff going on, but damn, everyone talking about projects or doing stuff makes me want to build more things here for comfort when eating. You're all making me feel like I'm slacking off. And it's not like I can solve the storms or get the ships to take us into space when we want them to, or any of that stuff, so I need more work to do.
[Says the guy sleeping only four hours in every thirty, spending all his time harvesting and drying and smoking and preserving and all that other stuff.]
That's it. Message me if you have, like, foods you want us to try. I might be able to get the Agrii to get us supplies too, if we promise to try and give them tastes or something. And do you think a covered outdoor patio would be nice? I could line it with berry bushes or cyanana vines or something.

Nope. But explain and maybe Radley has and we can all figure it out.

Um. Okay... [Keith considered that for a moment.]
Well, do you know what dumplings are? Not like Chinese ones. But like... the ones you get in soup, where they're just a puff of dough? Sopapillas are kinda like that, but they're made either really crispy, like puffed up chips, or they can be a little doughy, like a doughnut. And they're coated with cinnamon sugar.
The tacos are kinda like regular tacos, but it's thicker soft shell, and you pile the stuff on top. Maybe kind of like a pita with a gyro? They actually call it fry bread, that you put it on. And then there's like different kinds of toppings. You can really kind of just pick what you want, but the common ones are meat, avocados, beans, lettuce, tomato, corn... stuff like that. You make 'em as spicy or mild as you want, but I like it spicier.

The tacos might take a bit more work, trying to find substitutes for stuff.

Yeah, definitely. I get it. [Oh, boy, did he ever. He hadn't had food from Earth in a long time. Even when they finally did get back to Earth, it was catch as catch can, really, since supplies had been run low during Sendak's occupation.] It's been a long time since I've had the real things. We've made do a lot recently, here, back home, in space, on Earth... so it's fine. 'Close enough' is perfectly fine.
[He gave a weak chuckle.]

Thanks. I really appreciate that. I can certainly offer up my own replicator rations to get things, too. After all, it's a favor to me, so it's only fair.

Yeah, sure. I appreciate it, man.

[With some supervision....]
Really, though, you do so much as it is! I wouldn't be able to do anywhere as much as I've been able to if you weren't here. A patio sounds great, but only if you don't have to strain yourself to fit it in.
[Radley is certainly willing to help, but he can see from this message that Tommy really wants to do more on his own, so he's holding back the offer while at the same time worrying about how much Tommy is already doing on so little sleep.]
Re: Video
Yeah, just... not in the mood to try it again yet.
And it wouldn't be a strain to fit in the patio. We have so much space behind the place.
[Was Tommy deliberately misunderstanding? Yes. Was he aware that he was overworking himself due to stress? Also yes. But people didn't understand why and he can't even make them understand so he's going to cope his way. Besides, he's already getting a full four hours of sleep and with more people working his diner, and more in the greenhouse, he has more time. And no one is teaching him electronics so he has to do something or go mad.]
Could be nice, having more casual places to gather. I know we don't do it much here, but the option is nice.
Re: Video
I get that.
A patio would be really nice. Just as long as we can keep dangerous creatures from coming up on it with us. But don't let it take away from your sleep any more than the projects you've got going already do. I don't know how you keep running on so little.
[He's not sure exactly how much Tommy gets, but he sees him around at all hours and doubts much sleep is had.]
Re: Video
Seriously, you see how I move, what I can do. It comes with reduced sleep needs. So I keep busy while the rest of you are sleeping. But you're not wrong about creatures. Damn.
Re: Video
Well, good.
[That is definitely still hard for Radley to grasp, but he hopes Tommy is being completely honest about it. He still wonders and worries.]
I wonder what would be a good creature deterrent....
Re: Video
I'd say a dog, but no dogs.
Re: Video
Hmm. I wonder how fierce a mothcat can be....
