[ If your character has encountered Wesker before, they may recognize the tall man with the shades that finally decides to make an appearance on the network. He isn't wearing his black coat and leather suit but has changed into a light blue shirt instead and actually wears a labcoat over it. Have you been in the hospital recently? Well, he is clearly sitting in the new lab area, expression unreadable. ]

To those I have not met in person yet, I am Dr. Albert Wesker. Not a medical doctor like our more recent arrival Dr. Takemi, just to avoid any confusion.

I'm a virologist and assisted Billy in setting up a proper lab in the hospital where I have been examining samples taken from both cities and the areas around them to learn more about the microorganisms and potential diseases surrounding us.

My findings are of no immediate concern, but I am recording this message to send out a request for volunteers willing to leave a few blood samples for further research and potential antigen development.

Billy peered into the lab, rapping his fingers on the doorway, all ready wearing an anxious expression. Tommy had been texting him, and Billy had been doing his best to try and both console him AND play at of devil's advocate, clearly not finding much success.

He expected he was about to hear the same tale from Wesker, and it felt very much like being trapped between a rock and a hard place.

"Hey," he greeted as casually as he could manage, "You wanted to see me?"

"Hm." Wesker nods in acknowledgement of Billy's presence while locking up a cabinet before turning towards the young man, tucking his hands away in the pockets of his coat.

"I encountered your brother." He says, the frown notable over the rim of his glasses. "And I can't make any sense of him or why apparently everyone is okay with him bullying them around. Is he threatening people into submission with his powers?"

Ah, right into it then. Billy flushes, glancing away at first before his expression hardens a bit with the need to defend his brother. He shakes his head firmly.

"No. He's never done anything like that. He's a good guy, he's just- you just happen to trigger a lot of his...issues." He tries to be vague enough to not spread around Tommy's past. "I wasn't there, obviously, but- I'm sure it was just a misunderstanding. If you'd met under any other circumstances-"

“I plain responded to a call for help. Since I agreed to help with the security of the city, it only made sense to me. That he has an issue with the police, I noticed when I let him know that I wouldn’t allow him to use his powers to harm anyone after he exploded an oven in a fit of anger and he decided I must be a cop. Which is incorrect, yet he entirely ignored that detail.” The entire encounter still feels surreal.

“I don’t need to know any details about his problems with the police, but he shouldn’t be making his problems mine. Not when we are being forced to coexist in this place. At the same time he doesn’t seem interested in talking to me in any reasonable manner which is not helping. Further I am concerned that he appears inclined to use his claimed ownership of the diner, a communal space meant to make a basic necessity accessible to everyone, as a means to put pressure on those he disagrees with.” A lot to unpack. A lot taken from one single encounter.

Billy nods, looking guilty, mentally comparing Wesker's versions of events to Tommy's and trying to work out where exactly the truth lies.

"I understand. I promise, Tommy would never hurt anyone. He would never use his powers to hurt anyone here, only to protect them. That's his whole deal with the diner, he's put everything into helping people, too much, honestly... But I've never seen him use it against people. He gets worked up sometimes, but-" Fuck, Billy doesn't know how to stay in the middle of all this, obviously biased towards his brother, but understanding Wesker's frustrations.

"I get why you're upset."

“If his idea of protecting people consists of antagonizing those with the same goal, he is not fit for the position he holds. Instead he needs to seek help and work through whatever it is that makes him react negatively to someone just doing their job.” And Wesker is the last person that will try to avoid someone that has a problem with him. On the contrary.

Wesker crosses his arms now, his shaded gaze set firmly on Billy. “You’re his brother. I wouldn’t bring this up with you if you two weren’t family. But I am not going to sneak around to avoid triggering some negative reaction. I, too, need to exist here and be able to do my part to get us all back to where each of us belong.”

"That's...fair," Billy answers carefully, and he nods, averting his gaze, "That's all fair. And I understand that wasn't...the greatest first impression. I've been there." His first meeting with his twin rubbed Billy entirely the wrong way, but looking back at it now it's easier to see why he reacted that way.

"But I promise you, Tommy...he cares so much about the people here. He's going through a rough patch right now, but- you'll see, he's a good guy. I know I'm obviously biased, but- I just need you to know that. He really is just trying his best. You are right though. We do all need to be able to get along. We don't all have to be friends or anything, but we're a community."

“If you’re asking me to give him a chance, I already am.” Wesker points out, his own stance not shifting. “But I have doubts that he is inclined to return the favor.”

"It's...not going to be easy," Billy admits, knowing Tommy's impression of Wesker isn't going to leave much room for compromise, and honestly, Billy doesn't know how to resolve any of this, and just feels guilty for something he wasn't even involved in to start with.

"...I don't know what I'm supposed to do," he adds. Honestly, if he were back in his younger days he'd probably do something foolish like try to wish the conflict away with his magic. He knows better now at least, but he still feels very lost.

“Talk to him.” Wesker prompts. “Because I can’t but someone has to. He either gets his act together or accepts that he is turning into a liability and needs to take a step back.”

Wesker finally turns away, his glasses hiding where his eyes are roaming off to. “If he decides to turn his attitude against me, I will deal with him.”

"I have been," Billy sounds a bit defensive then, and he frowns, trying to keep himself in check. He doesn't want to argue.

His posture shifts then at Wesker's warning, eyes narrowing. "...deal with him?" he repeats.

Wesker simply shrugs. “I won’t kill him. But I consider myself capable enough to incapacitate him should it be necessary.”

There's a tense moment, Billy clearly not liking that answer, but he doesn't manage look especially intimidating, even if he does have the power to reshape reality.

"If you touch my brother and he hasn't hurt you or someone else, you and I are going to be having more than a conversation," he warns, calm but serious.

Wesker sighs at that, almost theatrically. "And I literally just told you that I will only act in self defense. That threat was beyond unnecessary." He has seen what the boy can do and still harbors no urge to antagonize Billy.

He turns back to face Billy again. "But if talking to him doesn't work and in the end him and I need to settle this among ourselves, do us all a favor and don't intervene."

"And I told you, you won't need to. My brother might be a dick sometimes, but he isn't going to hurt you or anyone else on purpose."

Billy frowns softly, absolutely making no such promise. Not that he thinks there's any reason this will come to blows between anyone, but even playing out hypothetics, Billy can't see a scenario where he wouldn't intervene unless someone was physically stopping him.

He tries to release that tension with a breath, expression softening, "...I don't want us to have a dumb fight now too. Are we good?"

“A simple discussion isn’t a fight, Billy.” Wesker returns, well aware of the lack of agreement on his request. Which makes sense, to some degree. Familial sentiment of the sort Wesker is aware of, yet can’t relate to. Of all the Wesker children he has found out to have existed, he only ever met Alex. And while she is the closest he has to a sibling, there isn’t any familial bond between them in the slightest.

“I just need you to understand that I don’t expect your brother’s pride to accept him being rescued. That wouldn’t stop anything. It might just make him mad with you as well.” And Billy probably doesn’t want that either.

Wesker's warning clearly gives Billy some pause, wary of stirring up more conflict between himself and his brother, even in a hypothetical.

He nods carefully. "...I understand. "

I all ready gave the other Doc a bunch of blood, but if you're looking for more? Are you offering any kind of uh...compensation maybe? [He flashes a hopeful grin.]

Oh uh, hey- can you detect like...rabies? That's a virus, right? [Noooo reason at all.]

If you were bitten by a rabid animal, I suggest you see Dr. Takemi about it first.

[ He's entirely ignoring the mentioning of any kind of compensation on purpose, indeed. ]

She's seen the bites. [Eddie shrugs and pouts a little at the lack of answer.] That a 'no' then?

For the compensation it is, yes. Ensuring that you haven’t caught rabies should sufficiently cover that.

I gueeeeess I can volunteer out of the goodness of my black little heart. [He gives a faux dramatic sigh.] And the assurance I'm not going to turn into some snappy rage monster. You're welcome to my blood.

A black heart is an entirely different type of disease than the ones I specialize in.

Well, I've gotta catch a movie at 5 so... [Eddie glances towards his wrist like he's about to check the time.] Oh, no, wait. We don't have those. Literally, whenever, man. I got nothing going on.

Well, I still have things to do. Be here within the next trhirty minutes, Mr. Munson.

[Eddie gives a mock salute and ends the feed.

Somewhere closer to the later half of 30 minutes later, a curly head peers in curiously.]

[ The answer is given without the man currently occupied at one of the counters even turning around to properly acknowledge the arrival of the young man. After an additional moment to finish up his current task and producing a noise that can only be considered 'dissatisfied', Wesker finally turns around to step back into the room and address Eddie properly. ]

You're on time. Which is surprising, yet not unwelcome given the overall willingness to cooperate displayed by the majority of the local population.

[ He gestures towards a comparatively simple setup of a chair and table close to the door while stepping over to one of the cabinets to pick up the required utensils. ]

This will be quick.

Hm. I dunno how helpful samples from me would be, considering my biology's...not really natural for one thing. Guess it would be useful to know how differently things might affect me but I wouldn't suggest getting any blood transfusions or something from me, I do not think that would work very well.

This is not about blood transfusions but to figure out how the different beings existing here react should they contract any of the local diseases. If your blood is indeed unique, this will also help preparing Dr. Takemi should she have to treat you and what substances to avoid when preparing medication.

In the end the only one benefiting is yourself.

Oh, I know, but just thought I'd throw that out there.

Come to think of it I've never actually been to a doctor. Kind of hard with...this whole situation.

Another decision everyone has to make for themselves.

And the entire reason for this response is what now?

Well, science, obviously!

I'm assuming the medical data point would be filling you in on any potential diseases on this alien world if no one's volunteered that sort of information. I've heard people have been here for years but I never thought to ask if anyone's ever come down with something around here. Hopefully nothing like the flu.

The record keeping in this place has been lacking over all those years, indeed. But from what I was told, the means to treat illness and injury so far has been magic. Convinent, maybe, but of questionable availability during a storm.

And since it's apparently unlear, I base my decision to do my own research on the fact that information gained through data points is not only temporary, but in many cases, such as the medical one, has no information how anything here might affect a being that isn't an Agrii.

Again: You are under no obligation to assist, but I will ask that you refrain from wasting my time as so far that has been all you have been doing.

Gasp, talking science is never a waste of time! Anyway, I was providing what I thought would be relevant information and potential concerns, but if a waste of time is all this has been, then good day, sir!
