Winter Blizzard Blues
WHO: Reeve Tuesti, York Stark, You?
WHERE: The Temba Restoration Committee Building
WHAT: Trapped during The Storm
WHEN: During the Blizzard
WARNINGS: None expected
The message from the Agrii had actually missed Reeve. His whole life was such that he often rested at different hours than many others. Nor did he often keep his comm near him when he slept, because people might reach out at weird hours. So he awoke, rose and dressed in the dark of his bedroom, and then rose to his feet. As he stepped into the main room the comm went off and Reeve, not hearing it, was moving to the door to open it up.
Time to see the day. He grabbed his bangle from the hook by the door, ready to call for his magic to melt away the snow on the stoop except... Except the materia were all dun. And the sky was open and gray, and the winds were howling. And all he could do was sigh and close the door back up.
All of that had been hours ago now, and Reeve had huddled up in his warmth, curled up in his blanket. This was not the day he was expecting. Now he just looked up as he heard knocking on his door. Whoever was out there needed brought in, now.
"Quick," he says when he cracks the door open, trying to keep it as closed as possible to prevent too much snow from blowing in. "Inside."

"And I mean that." There’s...hesitation but his eyes are bright like he’s earnest. Because he is. Reeve is York‘s friend, Mini too. He wants to help out.
He wants to help.
no subject
He doesn't want the android to feel obligated. That would be unfair.
no subject
Fingers fidget by clenching and unclenching. "I... I want to. Help I mean." And it's a strange thing to admit after all the rough starts he's had and the hatred for humans. Well, at least Reeve knew that wasn't entirely true now.
Thanks, ghost of his older android brother. Fucking ghost snitch.
no subject
"I can understand that."
no subject
"Then we got a deal on that compromise?" He puts enough space between them to hold out his hand. Like it's an actual deal. Something he's seen his creator do enough times for certain. "I keep myself safe and protect you and Mini if it isn't detrimental to my system."
no subject
"Yes, we do," Reeve says, taking that hand and shaking it firmly. He's a business man, he believes in the power of a good sealing handshake.
"I like that plan. It's the same thing I asked of the Cait Sith units."
They ignored him of course, protecting Reeve was always their first step.
no subject
York's handshake is pretty firm, though the skin feels... off compared to a human's. It's as close as their technology has come in his Detroit at least. A simple reminder that he's an android playing human.
He lets go and crosses his arms over his chest for now. "Can I just stay here until the storm blows over then? Don't need my ghost brother snitching on me to anyone else."
no subject
"Of course you can stay. You didn't even need to ask. I will want to know some of your needs though. Like whether we need to share blankets or not."
no subject
"I don't really have any, none like a human's anyways. I power down during the night into sleep mode so I can recharge and that's about it. So I can just... lay on the couch or in an out of the way spot." A pause. "Or I can just hang out with Mini, too. Droids of a feather flock together, or whatever."
no subject
Which had not been as true before the brother's revelation, but would be now. Trust had to be a two way street, and Reeve was so quick and happy to give it.
"There's only the bed," Reeve points out. Which isn't that shocking. "As for Mini, he's tunneling to the cold box I built out back. The cold doesn't affect him, so he offered to do so. He doesn't sleep, so he'd be happy to hang out."
no subject
"Well if there's only one bed, I'm not taking it from you. I'm an android, I don't actually need comfort while I'm in stasis. It doesn't do anything for me. But I'll at least sleep on the couch so you don't trip over me on the floor."
no subject
"I'm afraid if you don't wish to be on the floor, the bed is all there is. It's large enough for two and I do not cuddle, so you should be fine. But I'm not going to expect you to be uncomfortable just because you are an android. You are still a person."
no subject
Reeve gave his word.
Teal watches brown for a moment before nodding. "Bed sharing it is then. Just tell me what side you sleep on and I'll go in stasis on the other side. At least if you snore, it won't wake me up." There's a little hint of a smirk at that.
no subject
"How likely are you to need to get up in the night?"
Because it would be better for Reeve to be away from the wall if he was the only one likely to move a lot.
no subject
"Are you afraid I'll get bored and try to get up while you're asleep? I won't wake you up. Obviously you know I tolerate you so I won't be an entire asshole to you."
move to wrap this one soon?
There's the sound of a door opening and closing, and Reeve rises.
"Mini and I will get a small fire started. And no, I was more concerned about needing to get up to tend a fire, or other things."
yeah, we can do that <3
He thinks while Reeve moves around. "Is there anything I should do?"
Re: yeah, we can do that <3
"That would be appreciated. Mini's fur is not the most fire resistant, so it's dangerous for him to do that."
For now, though, he just gestures toward the best.
"Rest. We'll get the warmth started."
Re: yeah, we can do that <3
It reminds the android of how Richie had just accepted him with metaphorical open arms on the day of his arrival. When he was an even more aggressive asshole during that trial thing happening. "Thanks... for letting me stay."
Thanks for the theead
"It helps one stay sane to not be alone in a situation like this. And we are friends. So it makes even more sense. Now, let's see if I have that flint around here somewhere easily accessed."
the pleasure is all mine, now reeve knows york's 'secret' hahaha
Comfort isn't a thing for him, like humans, but...it feels nice. Okay. It's all soft and it helps the android settle. A periodic alarm is set to check the fire every hour and a half. Finally he lets his system slip into stasis, with the glow of his LED on his chin going from teal into a soft gold color.
And he's out.
