Worlds apart, hearts broken in two, two, two
Arrival (slightly changed from TDM, Season 4 spoiler warning. CW: blood)
Eddie blinked and the world seemed to turn upside down (ha!). He was flat on his back, Dustin was no where to be seen, and the spores of the Upside Down had been replaced with a light flurry of snow. For half a second Eddie didn't feel that choking pain, and he wondered if he was dead.
For a moment he starred up at the sky, strained breathes crystalizing in the air. It was so much brighter here... So peaceful. He turned his head and caught sight of some shining thing. Transfixed by the datapoint, the pain shot back in sharp focus as he strained to sit up. Everything in him screamed to stop, but he needed to touch that thing. He fell more than once before managing to right himself and took unsteady steps towards it, fingers smeared with blood as he finally made contact, and a flood of information assaulted his all ready shot nerves.
"...What the...shit?" he rasped once it released him, stumbling over as his legs refused to support him any longer. He looked down in confusion at his blood staining the snow. Fucking aliens. Sure. Why not at this point???
Audio- A Few Days Post Arrival
Heeeey, um...I don't really get how this thing is supposed to reach anyone without an antenna or anything but uh...can anyone hear me?
How do I even find a frequency?
This is fucking bullshit man.
[There's a clattering as the device is tossed away in frustration, Eddie sure it's not working.]

He refocuses with the nod. Right. Communication was going to be limited like this. But he can't just not talk. He presses his lips together, trying to blink away tears and asks instead- "I'm not too heavy?"
no subject
No, Eddie wasn't heavy. This was all too familiar to Lerith. The blood, carrying someone injured on his back - the only thing missing was magic. Lerith was glad he was a fire mage at least. The walk pauses and he does his best to gently shift the human on his back to keep him from slipping.
The hand that had pulled Eddie's arm lets go to point. The hospital was in view at least now. Then he grabs that arm again to keep the human secured.

He squints in the general direction the other points, the world a bit hazy and dim. A building?
"There's help there?" A hospital maybe? Or somewhere with people. Bandages hopefully. "There's a kid- I dunno if he came...shit man- I dunno if he's here too, but- if I don't- can you just...can you check for me? Make sure he's okay?"

Another hard nod. He's looking forward again, trying to keep an eye on where he's walking so he doesn't trip. His pace has picked up a little bit until Eddie starts talking. That head turns again, showing more scars and tattoos but attentive yellow eyes to indicate that the human's being listened to. He has a lot of questions, none that can be texted like this. So he shrugs, then nods, and nods again. Trying to answer without having to put Eddie down.

"Thanks man, 'ppreciate it," Eddie mumbles weakly, "You're a cool dude."

The attentive look turns confused for a moment as he tries to take in that word and what it meant. Surely it wasn't something derogatory, this guy doesn't look like he means it that way. Maybe it was some sort of weird slang from wherever he was from.
Since he wasn't sure what the hell it meant, there goes a shake for 'no' at that. And then sorry Eddie, but you're getting jostled for a moment as he shifts back and forth to get the hospital door open, then inside. The man is carefully set down on a fresh gurney that's not in use before he can finally let go and face the human. The communicator gets pulled out. 'Sorry, I can't speak so that was difficult. You should lie back and rest. I'll find a healer for you.'

"S'good man," Eddie assures in a murmur, struggling to keep his eyes open, managing to give a little 'thumbs up' before he slips unconscious.
