Warm Fuzzies
WHO: Omega and you?
WHERE: Temba and Sh'Ka
WHAT: Making sure the locals are warm
WHEN: Through the month
WARNINGS: N/A
This time around Omega was much better prepared for what to expect once the season shifted. She had more than enough free time and had started spending some of it in going through the available department stores for materials, clothes she could use. The nice Hunter had given her a knife so she could cut things up properly, and she'd managed to do so without slicing off any fingers and only giving Echo a mild heart attack.
Her sewing skills were rudimentary at best, but she remembered what she'd been taught during the rain fair that had seemed so long ago now. All she really needed to do was make sure one piece of material attached and stayed attached to another.
Depending on when one came across her, she could be found leaving little makeshift scarves and bundles of blankets by spots she'd seen Funfronds and Barrys frequent, in Temba or Sh'Ka proper. There's also the library where she might get sidetracked in her warmth dispersing and end up buried in mothcats. Or she could be found either carrying a very large bundle of cloth in her arms or in the process of winding what turned out to be a very lengthy, patched together scarf out around a snow-dusted outcropping of rocks that had settled near the spiraling depression of the Temba memorial site. Weird girl.

"The rest of him is probably buried in the dirt. His head alone is like... this big!" she gestured, holding out her arms at either side of her.
no subject
“I had not heard of this thing. I feel that I am under prepared for nature here.”
But yes, that was rather big.

Omega carefully climbed down a ways so she could tug at the makeshift scarf there. "It's a big world out there and we've only seen so much of it. Who knows what else lives around here?"

"I think that should do it. Can you get the other end?" Omega asked as she pointed over to where it had landed from her earlier tossing.

Once the girl seems stable, Lauri-Ell crosses to the far side, grabs up the other end, and begins to hang it around.
“Tell me of Muchi?”
no subject
"And then Wrecker had to challenge her so she'd listen to us and we could bring her back. I only saw the end of it, but it must have been quite a match!"
no subject
“No beast should unwillingly know the companionship and control of others. I am glad you rescued her. You are a good young woman.”
As she says this she continues to wrap the rocks she is working on.
“The beast was of a kind that gave respect only to those proven its better in combat? Yes, I can respect this.”
no subject
Omega carefully navigated the uneven rocks until she could step down onto the frosty ground.
"Something like that. Tech said it's what the rancors do in the wild, where one would challenge another alpha for authority."
no subject
"You are a very large friend."
no subject
She gave the festively decorated rocks a pat and then beamed up at Lauri-Ell. "Thank you for helping," she said as she rubbed her hands together to warm them up some.
no subject
She smiles and moves to the girl with her hands cupped together.
"Kree have higher body temperatures than the average human. I could help."
no subject
no subject
"That sounds nice. It would be soothing."

“Gladly. Are warm drinks traditional in human cultures when it is cold?”
no subject
no subject
So this place was the only cold she had known.

"I do not know oceans well. Perhaps they resist that sort of care that we use with our residential and garden worlds," Lauri-Ell suggests.
no subject
"I guess... There's not really much to be done about them." Gardens and worlds with cities and towns, individual houses, they were all relatively new to her too, after all.
At least they'd be warm soon as the diner came into view. Omega looked forward to whatever might be had for tummy-warming treats.
no subject
She sees the diner and smiles. Yes, warmth will be good.
"I hope Thomas has made stew. I think it is a very good human food."
